It will likely be similar to previous codes reported that started with "VIP"

Might include a free specialty meal, or prepaid gratuities, or bottled water, or something similar .  Could be a combination of those items.

Do you have any extras listed in your reservation?  MIght have to wait for your eDocs to know for sure.  You could also contact your travel agent and ask.

I think you are correct. I just changed travel agents and saw this code on my new reservation. I see the following on my confirmation from NCL.

I assume “sales” means the TA purchased the truffles, strawberries, and water. What about the wine? It’s a Haven cabin but not an owner’s suite. Is this something the TA would have purchased also?

well, I don't know how you would do the butler or concierge.  Is there a way to tip them to your account?  I was talking about situations where you have to sign a receipt, like in the specialty restaurants.  You can add the tip to the receipt and it will be paid from your OBC, if non-refundable OBC

I go to the concierge desk and ask them to add tips to my account. I have to have the full name of the person I’m tipping. We don’t drink, so no bar tab. I’m trying to figure out the best way to spend my OBC now that I finally went ahead and bought the stock.

If it's not too late, you should put the two platinum cruisers in separate cabins so that you can get the four platinum coupons to make your chart work.  As long as they are in the same cabin, you're only going to get one set of coupons

I hadn’t thought of putting one platinum in each cabin. We sail in 17 days, so I think it’s too late. Otherwise I would have tried to move the Bronze passenger up to guest #1 or 2 in the cabin with the platinums. I don’t think NCL wants us to play musical cabins this late in the game.

I appreciate the suggestion though because I am trying to plan another multi-cabin cruise and will definitely try to place a platinum in each cabin if I can convince everyone from this trip to join us on the new one I’m planning.

If I understand OP correctly the idea is to go together to for example Cagneys where ”Platinum 2 guest” will use a platinum coupon with ”Gold 2 guest”. That definitely will work. Also for Teppanyaki the idea is to go together to Teppanyaki where ”Platinum 1 guest” uses the platinum coupon with ”Gold 1 guest”. We have done this type of thing many times and it is 100% doable.

Yes, you understand my proposed plan correctly. Thank you for sharing your experience. Now I know that I can go ahead and buy the 4 meal SDP for the Bronze guest and follow this chart once we are on the cruise so I don’t mess up my plan.

  4. There are five of us traveling. Two platinum and one bronze in one cabin. When I booked it I didn’t think to put the bronze latitude guest as one of the first two in the cabin, so the two platinums have the free at sea 3 SDP package plus the two latitude coupons. The two gold guests have their own cabin and each have 3 free at sea SDP meals. I was thinking of buying a 4 SDP for the bronze guest and using the two platinum coupons as shown below. Will this work? I think we’d all like to eat dinner together every night instead of the two platinum guests having two additional specialty meals.

I sent the screenshot with our account info--shows account number w/ our names.

Then the screenshot showing 100 shares has the account number on it as well.

Only way I could see to do it--it worked!

NCLH says to black out the account number so I wanted to do that. I received an email addressed to me with the trade information so I included a redacted screenshot of that email along with a redacted screenshot of the main page of my E*trade which shows my name and that I have NCL shares, but not how many.  That should work.

I've been using E*Trade since 2018. Very easy to buy and sell, the interface is easy to use. I like that I can put in orders like "If this stock goes to 20, but 50 of it". They're definitely a legit broker.

I purchased mine via trade about 1 year ago.  Easy to set up the purchase.  I think it took about 2 days for it to appear in my online portfolio.  Easy to print out proof of ownership statement that you send to NCL for the OBC ( just follow the instructions on the NCL website)

    That's what we have.

    SUPER easy & free.

You send in a  screenshot of your 100 shares to get the OBC.

The transaction finally went through on E*trade but none of the views that I can see on their website show my name so that NCLH knows that I’m the owner of the account. What am I missing? I’m 19 days away from my trip so I want to get the form in ASAP. Thank you.

The BLISS.  Hands down our favorite NCL ship.  While we like them all for different reasons, the Bliss encompasses the best of the others we’ve sailed (Bliss, Prima, Epic, Breakaway, Jade).

I’ve been on the POA twice and the Bliss twice. I love the Bliss so much I’ll be on it again next month. Then I’m branching out and trying the Escape.

This was a warm weather cruise for many (not me 😁) and the pool deck and water slides were in full swing.

    What were the temperatures like?

There is the Vibe, but we didn’t purchase passes.  Here is something I found interesting.  The Vibe is on Deck 19, starboard side.  As I understand, in theVibe you get padded loungers, hot tub, water feature, bar service and rest rooms.  On Deck 19, port side, there is a public deck with padded loungers, hot tub, shower, bar and rest rooms…for FREE.  You can access by walking up from Deck 16, but few people do this.  Or, FWD elevator bank, port side one elevator goes to Deck 19.  It’s a hidden gem…thank you ☺️.

This past April I wandered up there on our LA to Vancouver repo cruise. It was very blustery, and the poor guy at that bar was all bundled up with nary a customer in sight. I wonder what he did to deserve such an assignment. I think he was bored to death as he tried to strike up a conversation with us. We did talk to him for a few minutes, but we were cold and wanted to head back inside after our short stroll on deck.

Thank you all for your input!!  I went with the itinerary and booked on Jade!  I got a 2 bedroom room family villa that has a large picture window over the tub so that can be my “hot tub” experience. Thank you all for wonderful insightful responses, I’m very excited!!

Thank you for letting us know what you decided. Enjoy your cruise and report back!

Here's a copy of the email I received in July for an August sailing.

In review of current rates for your sailing xxxxxxxxx, we have identified a price drop in the amount of $1199.9.

As a one-time good will gesture,  we have created 100% of that amount as future cruise credits for you below:

    2372943xz - guest1 - $599.95

    2372945xz - guest2 - $599.95

These credits will be available for one year to book and sail, upon completion of your current sailing on Debarkation Day.

Please note terms and conditions include but are not limited to the following:  Your future cruise credit (FCC) is only applicable towards sailings six days or longer, FCC provided is non-transferable, FCC provided is non-refundable, FCC is issued to guest 1 and 2 on the reservation only, guest who cancel their reservation prior to sailing will have their FCC deactivated from their client profile.

Thank you for choosing Norwegian Cruise Line, we look forward to welcoming you aboard soon!

Thank you for sharing this! It’s exactly what I was looking for. I was not aware of the six day or longer requirement, so I can’t do a short cruise. It’s also nice to know that it’s split between the first two guests only.

ETrade, which was independent but now owned by Morgan Stanley, is an excellent brokerage platform and it's website and app are easy to use. Absolutely NO DRAWBACKs and they even have a good premium savings account that's currently paying 4.25%

4.25% for a savings account? Wow! What’s the minimum deposit?

Do you live in the US? I assume you do since you are interested in an eTrade account.

Do you have any retirement savings accounts through an employer such as a 401k, 403b or 457b or an IRA?  If so, you may be able to trade shares from funds within the account to purchase 100 shares of NCL. This would mean that you wouldn’t have to create a new brokerage account just for NCL.

My NCL shares are in a retirement account.

I looked into this, but it’s not feasible right now. Thank you for the suggestion.

Sure, while I don't have experience with them, E-Trade is as good as any brokerage, especially if it's just a small account with 100 shares of NCLH.  I don't believe they charge commission.  For different reasons, I have accounts with Fidelity and Schwab; I know those are commission free.  Both are easy to setup and use.

When you book your next cruise, you'll print out the form on the NCL website, send a copy of your brokerage statement showing the NCLH holding (blacking account your account number), and you're on your way.

Thanks for mentioning Fidelity and Schwab. I was not aware of that they were commission free, as is E*Trade. Good to have options.

  13. With the stock price dropping, I’m thinking of biting the bullet and finally buying stock to get the OBC for my two upcoming cruises. Does anyone have any experience with using E*trade to buy stock? This might be the easiest way to do it. Any negatives? It looks like it takes three business days to find your account, though. Hopefully the price stays low until then and goes up afterwards.
