At lunch,  the Captain reported more Covid  cases.  He said yesterday there were 14 and this morning another 10.  This does not include crew members.  The weather has been beautiful.  I compare the sound between Alaska and the Antarctic. Sorry,  I’m not good at downloading pictures.  I haven’t heard anyone complain about wearing masks.  Tomorrow is another sea day.

Sadly the captain reported 3 cases of Covid.  The cabin stewards passed out new masks this afternoon.  He said this was routine.  We’ll see if more cruisers wear masks tomorrow.  The weather was forecasted for 51 and showers.  Didn’t need my coat.  Maybe because the weather  was so nice was the reason so many bugs.  The wind wasn’t blowing like it was in Labrador.

  3.  Jon Sigurdsson and Valerie Mock are guest speakers. They have had a full house each time they speak.

Glenn-Michael guest during coffee chat have been hotel manager Florin and food manager Ali.  They have been speaking about their time during and after  Covid. Now they are having trouble with getting supplies to the ship.  Everything seems to be going smoothly otherwise.

  4. On Eurodam now, it is suggested that guest wear masks. Very few guests are doing so.On shore excursions information, it says take ID and Covid card.  No one has asked to see Covid card.  Also, all excursions are on your smart phone.  Very strict about your ArriveCAN information and then filling out another form.

  5. The first time we did the Panama Canal trip was prior to Easter.  When we did tours there were festivities preparing for Easter Sunday.  They were very colorful.  We took a ride on a bus to a coffee plantation and saw blotches of red on doors.  Our guide told us it meant fresh meat.  I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.  Couple of years ago we did a banana plantation tour.  It was highly informative.

  6. As I was going through years of paperwork, I found a certificate for Able Mariner.  It was issued on our third cruise.  In part it reads as follows:Having served the proper apprenticeship scrubbing scrappers and polishing monkey rails aforementioned landlubber is henceforth promoted to the rank of Able Mariner.  It was dated June, 1999 on the Ryndam
