On the VOV recently, a red dot was placed on your mailbox. Keep up your spirits.

At lunch, the Captain reported more Covid cases. He said yesterday there were 14 and this morning another 10. This does not include crew members. The weather has been beautiful. I compare the sound between Alaska and the Antarctic. Sorry, I’m not good at downloading pictures. I haven’t heard anyone complain about wearing masks. Tomorrow is another sea day.

Sadly the captain reported 3 cases of Covid. The cabin stewards passed out new masks this afternoon. He said this was routine. We’ll see if more cruisers wear masks tomorrow. The weather was forecasted for 51 and showers. Didn’t need my coat. Maybe because the weather was so nice was the reason so many bugs. The wind wasn’t blowing like it was in Labrador.

Jon Sigurdsson and Valerie Mock are guest speakers. They have had a full house each time they speak.
Glenn-Michael guest during coffee chat have been hotel manager Florin and food manager Ali. They have been speaking about their time during and after Covid. Now they are having trouble with getting supplies to the ship. Everything seems to be going smoothly otherwise.

On my trip this week, I booked hotel and airport transfer through HAL . The transfer is free for hotel and airport if you booked through HAL. Hope this helps.

Thanks for tip about Pocket Earth. Are you still doing your reports on your phone? Looking forward to your narrative.

Where are you at that you received the paperwork? Are you on a ship?
I’m located in the desert in Southern California. Someone will pick up my luggage Wednesday, June 29.

I just received paperwork from Luggage Direct.. In Boston, someone will meet me outside the terminal and take my luggage.
I won’t see it for a few days, which is fine with me

Concerning the rough sea issue, I didn’t think it was so bad. The dance show was cancelled because of the weather. On Friday, speak to the captain, he said the swells were much higher than predicated. It just made sleeping so much nicer.

Just got off the Eurodam Saturday. We were told the previous week there were 1,900 and on our cruise 1,600. The number for our trip was perfect for the crew to serve. The 1,900 seemed far to many for the staff.

On Eurodam now, it is suggested that guest wear masks. Very few guests are doing so.On shore excursions information, it says take ID and Covid card. No one has asked to see Covid card. Also, all excursions are on your smart phone. Very strict about your ArriveCAN information and then filling out another form.

We have stayed there several times. When we checked in, he noticed that we had stayed there before. I asked if an upgrade was available that looked out over the harbor. He said sure. When we arrived in our room, it was huge. We had a corner suite that looked over the harbor. Needles to say, we certainly enjoyed our overnight stay.

I’m on this ship in July and I have a lanai cabin. The lower promenade deck has always been a favorite of ours.

I got it as well and I’m on the Zuiderdam.

Brimmer is correct on the number of passengers. A server told me 1,600 were to be on board, but Cancelled because of flights and I’m sure of the CDC alerts. There are 1,066 on board.
Thanks for letting me add my two cents Btimmer.

You have to use a Target credit card .
I received one for Christmas.

I was searching for information where you could prepay for your WiFi services and ran across this information for ATT. Has anyone used this service? Is it better than the ship’s plan? Thanks in advance.

Contacted TA and he saved me $500.00 on an Alaskan cruise in June. On the VOV in July, no such luck.

Once upon a time……….having dinner in the Lido area, we observed that the same music was played every evening. Wrote a note on their comments card. Received a call telling us that the music is programmed in Seattle. It was out of their hands, but would forward our observation to Seattle.

The first time we did the Panama Canal trip was prior to Easter. When we did tours there were festivities preparing for Easter Sunday. They were very colorful. We took a ride on a bus to a coffee plantation and saw blotches of red on doors. Our guide told us it meant fresh meat. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Couple of years ago we did a banana plantation tour. It was highly informative.

As I was going through years of paperwork, I found a certificate for Able Mariner. It was issued on our third cruise. In part it reads as follows:Having served the proper apprenticeship scrubbing scrappers and polishing monkey rails aforementioned landlubber is henceforth promoted to the rank of Able Mariner. It was dated June, 1999 on the Ryndam

Both my husband and I took the yellow fever shot. We didn’t have any side effects. We got our shot at a military base. We took this cruise on recommendations from table mates.

Do you need to wear a mask when on the promenade deck?
