He is welcome to join you. Last February DH's girlfriend joined us at all the special events and was welcomed each time.
See ya there! ;)
Oh my! I just about spit out my beer. I hope you really didn't mean that your "Dear Husband" brought his girlfriend.
Thanks for the laugh this evening.

Thank you so much for sharing your cruise. We did the reposition from Vancouver to HI in 2010 on Rhapsody and loved it so much that we repeated in 2011.
Your pictures and descriptions are terrific and make us long to return.
Hope you have a great day on Kauai and enjoy Oahu, too.

Thanks to Cotswold Eagle for your descriptions and beautiful photos.
We will be on Brilliance in Aug for the Baltic cruise and the Fjords cruise so this is very informative for us.

I am so sorry for your loss. There is no easy way to lose a parent but it seems that your father went so peacefully.
It is nice to know how well you were attended to by the NCL staff and the ship's medical staff.
God bless your family.

Funny about the size. I don't think its really that small.
Somewhere around 1994-1996 we sailed in an inside cabin on a 2 night cruise to nowhere from NY on a Premier ship and I am pretty sure that it was smaller than that.
We each had a narrow "bunk" on either side of the cabin and the door was vented (as in not at all sound proof.)
We still had a great time, met some nice people and had some very good food.
We have moved up a bit since then but still agree that we just want to cruise. Ocean view and balcony cabins are nice but if we find an itinerary and date that we really want we will easily select an inside stateroom if it means we can cruise more times for less $.
Happy cruising to all!

We are looking for a hotel at the port that will accomodate five people(four adults and one child). We are looking at Embassy Suites as an option....any thoughts? Thank's
We were only 2 but we really enjoyed Embassy Suites. The managers cocktail hour made for a great evening. The breakfast buffet was quite good. We really liked being able to take a morning walk down to to see the ships.
There was a pullout sofa in the "living room" so I guess that you could request a rollaway for the child. I don't know what there maximum capcity is for rooms.

On the Oasis in December, we went to our cabin and I immediately noticed that someone’s travel documents and a diet Coke bottle were on the desk.
Next, we saw a man’s suit jacket hanging in the closet.
We thought that we had somehow entered the wrong cabin but we had not.
After looking at the papers on the desk we saw that they were for one cabin to the left. We knocked on the door and woke someone up who reluctantly came over and found that the items belonged to his travel companion who must have walked into the wrong cabin.
A short while later; I wanted to put items in the safe and found that although it was open it had a wallet in it. I hope it also belonged to the missing travel companion because we knocked on the next door again.
A few minutes later, we checked out the bathroom and found a toothbrush and some prescription meds in the cabinet. Oh, no! We had to knock on the next door again! The poor man was trying to take a nap and had no idea as to the whereabouts of his travel companion.
Generally, cabin doors are open on embarkation day. People should make sure that they enter the correct cabin.
Although we found items that had been dropped off I guess it was better than the alternative. What if the "napper" had been the one to enter the cabin, close the door and go to sleep? That would have been really uncomfortable for us to walk in on a sleeping man in our bed!

If you can't move beforehand you should approach guest relations once on board.
We once had an ocean view cabin on a lower level and were contacted on day 2, by phone, from guest relations asking if we would help accomodate a family (who wanted to be across from each other) and move to an ocean view cabin with a larger window on an upper level. We were happy to make the move and accomodate the family.
Had it been to a balcony, we would have been packed in an instant!
At any rate, I think it was more appropriate coming from a cruise representative than a knock on the door from a passenger.

Eyeglass repair kit! Not only for reading glasses but sunglasses. I once had the screw fall out of the only pair of sunglasses that I brought and was forced to wear one armed sunglasses for 3 days.

for all you bringing water bottles and refilling at the buffet?
*gag*
Please don't spread your germs. yuck.
at least I know now where NOT to get water.
yikes.
As a previous poster mentioned, I bring a small funnel and refill my water bottle by pouring glasses of water into my portable bottle. No germs.

Not if you go to reputable stores and know what you are looking for. I paid about 1/2 for a Citizen Eco Drive in St. Thomas.
PE
I bought an Eco Drive for my husband on NCL Dawn. I had priced it here and checked in some ports and did the best on the ship.
Sometimes you need to do your homework as I have also heard that for many things the you can do better in ports.

Congratulations and best wishes! Nice pictures, too.

Stupid question here but how do you get a taxi to return from Nachi to the ship... Do you arrange that with the driver who took you there or do you have Nachi arrange that for you or what.
Not a stupid question. We will be there on 12/01 and are assuming that others will need to go back to our pier.

As others have stated we don't have a cabin picture that truly shows. We only took pictures of towel animals.
On the Dawn the door opened right by the foot of the bed and there was a small "hall area" to the left where the bathroom and closet were. The bathroom was a little smaller than other inside cabins we have had. Also, the bathroom door was so close in the "hall" area that one couldn't look in the closet if the bathroom door was open.
You did need to remember to stand in that area to dress/change as if the door were to open you would be fully exposed.
We will continue to book inside cabins as they are a true savings (Spend less, cruise more!) but I might think twice about the sideways cabin in the future.

I'll be in the same boat (LOL) as you. I have a family stateroom on the Explorer- room 8500-which is the most forward cabin on that floor! But it was the only family stateroom left available and I need it since I am traveling with my 3 boys. Oh well...we'll just make the best of it! Better than being in my bedroom here at home with the snow falling :D
We had # 8000 on Jewel of the Seas and really loved it. That is roughly in the same spot at # 850 on Explorer.
Unless you are very sensitive to movement you should have no problem. You will enjoy the extra space for sure.
We loved our big windows.
You know the bow cam that they show on tv? Well, we had that view of our own.

Thanks to SailorJack for another truly entertaining tale!
I wish I had the gift for writing such reviews.

Thanks SailorJack for another great read.
Are there more chapters?
What about "La Coruna (and our side of what happened to us) for a future report." ?

Freedom, December 9, 2012.
We brought our bag with us and were told that we could put whatever we wanted in it. All we had to do was pay full price.:(
I really thought that the refill promotion was supposed to carry through to all ships.
On day 2 they started to sell a few empty bags that they had on hand.
There isn't even a bucket deal anymore. We used to always get those.
