  1. What are the welcome waters and snacks? Is it just a can of soda and a plate of cookies or something more?

Water soda and cookies -sometimes a plate of undesirable appetizers

What do I expect from the "chef's choice gift amenity"?

    I’ve never seen this

What kind of discounted rates are there for booking?

I believe the discounts are only on balcony or higher

The other amenity that surprised me is that it said " Three nightly drink vouchers will be loaded on the member's SeaPass card to be used in venues throughout the ship”

Yes you can go to the bar and get three diamond indicates drinks at no charge

  2. Hi

I’m traveling solo oct 8 to Havana on rccl and I’m trying to find the best way to sightsee alone

I found a shared group tour through locally sourced tours for $90 including lunch

    7 hour tour

Has anyone used this company? Or could recommend another way for a solo to see the city?

    Thx!!!

  3. I am a small framed female with curly shoulder length hair and a small chest but it is there! I attempted to entire the dining room wearing a sleeveless summer shirt. Auren a female greeter told me I could not enter in a tank top. Another woman was leaving the dining room wearing a tank top. I pointed to her and said but she was let in. Auren says “she’s a woman” I’m like “I’m a woman!!!!” She says “oh I thought you were a man. You can come in”. Huh?????

  4. today is my first morning on the navigator. I follow a very strict power lifter diet. Breakfast is always egg whites only with veggies. At 7 am after my morning cardio I went to the windjammer for black coffee, egg whites and veggies. I'm told, quite angrily, by the station cook that there are no egg whites. I ask where are the veggies, they point to the garden section which has deli meat and fruit, no veggies. I asked to speak to the manager. After about 15 min a nice young lady came down and said they would special order egg whites and steamed veggies every morning at 7 am for me. That's very nice but I wish it wasn't such an ordeal. Am I the only healthy eater on this cruise?

  5. Agree - a personal trainer for a one week trip seems silly. They have no idea where you are or what you need to be doing or the best way to motivate you. Frankly, unless you are professional athlete who needs a workout to be constantly fine tuned; needing a personal trainer just to "push you" is a bit of a cop out.

    Hmm

How interesting that anonymous losers feel the need to weigh in on what’s best for someone else? All I asked was for info on peoples experiences with trainers on this ship

I’ve used trainers on four other RCCL ships and loved every experience

I’ve actually stayed in contact with my last trainer from 2 years ago

I prefer to have someone there to assist with heavy lifts and monitor my form

And again, whether or not I hire a trainer and why isn’t the issue here

So truly if you have nothing relevant and intelligent to add stay out of it!

  6. If you are already using a trainer at home, you could also have them prepare you a program for that week. I’m a trainer and I completely understand not wanting to lose ground on a vacation. I will be in the gym every morning if for nothing else a good amount of cardio to keep the food from killing me ;p

Yes my trainers all offered to help but I just don’t do as good a job pushing myself as I do with help. Two years ago I was on the jewel and had an amazing trainer named Andrew! He really kept me on track!

  7. I'm doing a b2b on Navigator next month and will be in the gym most mornings. I plan on doing a semi-live review and will attempt to get some pictures of the facilities and post here. I was on Freedom last year, and I thought I remembered seeing a Smith machine. There were also dumbbells up to I want to say 70 lbs but I could be wrong as I'm nowhere near the high end of those.... I would think Navigator is similar but will check and report back.

    Awesome!

  8. haven't been on navigator but on every other royal ship ive been on (only been on voyager class or larger) there's been a smith machine. there's no squat rack and there's no barbells. I think it was 220 for 3 one hour sessions when i did personal training in Sept and there was also the option for three 30 min sessions for 99. 18% gratuity on top of that.

    Thanks!

  9. Hi,

We are disembarking in san juan on dec 27 after our cruise and staying locally for one evening. our accommodations are not ready till about 1 so we were thinking about a local tour to kill time.

How is disembarkation off the jewel? Would planning a 930 am pick up time be reasonable to have luggage and be through security? 10/1030?

    thanks!!!!
