  1. do it today, you will not be able to do it tomorrow....they must be printed 3 days ahead...

Luggage tags will not update unless you ask them to reissue the e-docs so just get them at the pier

There should be a corrected luggage tag to print within the set sail pass

  2. I was just upgraded for my Enchantment cruise leaving Monday. Do I need to reprint my boarding documents and luggage tags?

I was also upgraded for my cruise and I reprinted the set sail pass and luggage tags- I would prefer my luggage end up in my room and not someone else's

  3. I feel like the cruise director is actually pretty important. (S)He sets the vibe on the ship even if you don't see him much. We had Ricky a few years ago. LOVED him and almost took a cruise we weren't thrilled with (didn't love the itinerary) just because he was leaving that ship (Grandeur) and we wanted to see him one more time.

As for captains, I haven't felt attached to any of them. I did love that we had the only woman cruise captain though. I thought that was really cool.

I really must be in the minority because we found Ricky offensive and lounge lizard like and he really soured our cruise experience

On the other hand Richard spacey made an otherwise awful explorer spring break debacle into a better experience

  4. Just went online to check my online docs for my May 23 cruise on enchantment 3 night cruise and my coveted aft 7166 cabin was replaced.... With a grand suite! That's a-ok by me- that's why I checked the box that it's ok to upgrade! Too bad it's only a 3 night cruise- but since I won't be diamond until after this cruise I will enjoy the free evening cocktails for 3 nights!

Does anyone know if they offer any special meal locations for suite guests on enchantment? I just came off the Indy in a gs and had breakfast (and lunch on sea days) in chops. Loved the personalized service and quiet atmosphere. Would they leave the nice little treats on a 3 night like they did on the Indy?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. we were in 9092 on the jewel and 1056 on the serenade and loved both cabins! yes we heard some noise from the centrum, but never past midnight, and we were both so tired from our daily activities we fell right to sleep. plus ear plugs worked great! loved the location since it was right off elevator and could get anywhere on ship in no time! loved it so much traded my aft cabin 1100 for 8088 for December- just love the extended balcony- I think it may be as big or bigger than 1100 balcony!

  6. I am just back from BOS 7040 and the balcony is big with a real table and could fit multiple loungers, but love seat no couch, but it was an awesome cabin no noise. Really pretty centrally located. Loved it. I am so a converted balcony person. Thomas was amazing! I so loved the ship! She is so amazing!

I will try to upload some pix tonight!

umm, thanks for sharing but not sure it goes with this thread

thanks to the others for the input- something to think about definitely

I booked under the wow deal and got $300 OBC from rccl, wonder if I would lose that if I changed categories

  7. I have cabin 1100 reserved for later this year on the serenade. Money is a bit tight, and saw that the extended balcony cabin 8088 is open for our sailing, saving us about $2000. Other than double cruise points I know there are no perks with a JS. We will be diamond by then so we will have diamond lounge.

I wonder if it's worth the savings to move to the E1 8088 cabin. I've been in 1056 on jewel and loved the balcony, but then there were only 2 of us, not 4. I also saw that two regular priced E1s connecting would be about $200 more than one E1 so that's an option also.

but only booked this cruise to secure 1100, so it's kind of anti-climactic to have to downgrade :( But $2000 would pay for another cruise :)

I have also read that after the refurbishment there was a lot more noise from the centrum by the elevator rooms- any recent experiences?

    thanks for any thoughts!

  8. After I cruise in September I will only be 10 nights away from being a

Diamond status. Is it worth it to take a 10 night cruise so that I will be

Diamond for when we sail on the Allure in February 2016?

Does the Allure offer any special perks for Diamond? Is there a Diamond lounge on the Allure?

    Thanks for any advice.

I'm in a similar situation. I just finished my indy cruise and I am 5 points away from diamond so I am taking a 3 night cruise in a JS for double points to become diamond for my dec cruise

  9. I'm traveling with someone who has never been to Europe and doesn't understand the need to have more time to explore. she is insisting we fly into rome just one day before our cruise (that is a compromise, as she originally was insisting we fly in the day of the cruise!)

But at this point unless I can beat her down we will arrive in rome around 10 am and our cruise is the next day.

we are staying at albergo del senato so very central to everything

can anyone help to create a schedule for that day and perhaps the next morning (which unfortunately is a sunday)

what I am thinking is a late afternoon ticket to the Vatican, followed by a rome by night tour (such as through romecabs) including the trevi fountain

and visiting the colosseum first thing sunday AM and then leaving hotel for cruise port?

    thanks in advance

  10. Do not know about Deko Rome, but Albergo del Senato is wonderful small hotel. We had a room that overlooked the Pantheon which was just wonderful. If I were only there for a night I would spring for the $$(it is pricey) and stay there again. So many site are easily walkable from there. Enjoy, whatever you choose!:)

    thanks!

  11. Tasking the 10 night Rome to Istanbul cruise on quest in August. We are in port in Istanbul overnight before disembarking. I am wondering what time I can book my flight for out of Istanbul disembarkation day- could I make a 10:55 flight? A 12 noon flight?

    Thanks in advance!

  12. Santa Chiara is near the People Mover and no bridges to cross. Vapporetto stop right there. We stayed there last September.

How far was it to saint marks square? Thanks

  13. Thanks! My question is - when I book- how can I guarantee 2 beds- most booking sites will say "double or twins". we are traveling together but not "together".....

  14. Two single females traveling in August. Will either stay 3 nights before our cruise or 3 nights after (opinions?), and want to stay in the heart of things near a water taxi or at a hotel with transport

So confused by all the hotel choices!

Need advice- would love to stay in a little b & b or pensione.

    Please help!

  15. 1. Arriving on time for muster is optional

    2. Cut up potatoes and bits of carrot are defined as "mixed vegetables" with nothing else available

    3. Concierge lounge is the new "Chuck e cheese" with parents apparently on vacation from controlling their children

    4. Tongs and plates are apparently optional for children when eating off the concierge buffet

    5. If you want healthy food options after 9:30 pm too bad.... Order one of the two salad choices on room service or settle for cookies and pizza on the promenade

    6. Smoking, yelling and banging on the balcony is apparently acceptable... Based on the behavior of our neighbors

    7. Get your workout in before 10 pm as gym closes at 10 pm.

    8. Diamond evening event is infinitely better than concierge lounge- no kids allowed in the evening! And wide open space vs cramped concierge quarters.

    9. When ordering room service, make sure to specifically order utensils. We did not get napkins, or silverware. Making eating the soup and salad challenging.

On the plus side- concierge is helpful and diligent. Cabin is nicely appointed.

  16. Last time I booked on board the booking automatically went to the TA who had booked the cruise I was currently on

I want to book while on board next week, but we've had it with this TA and don't plan to use her again

Is the policy still that the TA who booked you gets the booking made onboard?

    Thx

  17. There is swim time during the 2 snorkel stops about 45 minutes or more; if you eat quickly at Pinel (we didn't as we were drinking and socializing) you could definately swim there. They had the coolest inquinas on a hill near where we ate. There was a short swim time at another private beach which was amazing. We didn't want to get back in the boat but we had to in order to catch the jets at Maho. We did not swim at Maho.

The only place to shop was at Pinel Island. I didn't buy anything there as I could not find anything that locally made; plus everything was in Euros which inflated the price. (Check out the conversion rate before you go). We shopped a little right at the port before we walked over to the marina to catch the boat. The stores opened before 9am local time and we were supposed to meet at 9.30am. (we didn't leave until 10am). We even had enough time to walk into town upon our return. We arrived back at 4pm and all aboard time for us was at 5.30. The marina is a 10 minute walk at most about halfway to town and it was another 10 minutes to get into town. We shopped there about 30 minutes, got a little nervous about time and was onboard by 5pm. Just be aware how the ship time alligns with the local time. For us, it was the same but I heard some cruises don't change the time so ship may be one hour behind. If that is the case, you would have to be off very early but would have more time to be at port.

on pinel island did you have to buy drinks or did they come with lunch? if they were extra, did they take US money or CC?

    thanks!
