If staying in a GS or higher internet is included in your cruise fare.
How does this work? Is there a card with login details and password in your stateroom
or do you have to go to the internet desk and register / Signup?
Thanks in advance.

Cruise ships avoid hurricanes at all costs. There is no way a ship would have docked at Cococay during a hurricane. Hurricanes are not like tornadoes with little time to prepare. Hurricanes can be monitored where they will affect from days before and ships will always avoid their paths.

Its where we stay when in FLL. As previously said it is a stop for the water taxi. 3 minute walk to Galleria mall. Publix and Starbucks across the road. Several good restaurants and a Blue Martine bar at the entrance to the mall.
Get a water way facing room. Always fun to see the boats and super yachts going up and down especially on weekends when everyone is partying on their boats.
The Hotel itself is a bit dated but not to the extent that it is a problem or will hamper your stay. If you are driving they only have valet parking available.

We always stay at the Miami airport Marriott. It is actually known as the Marriott campus as there is a Marriott, a Courtyard and a Residence Inn all on the same sight. They have airport shuttles running every 20 minutes. You can stay at anyone and charge the restaurant to your room. Both Marriott and Courtyard have good restaurants and decent bars. It was about $35 Uber to the port with a SUV.

I could understand your frustration with RCL. I would also be unhappy with the family I was waiting on to have me waiting until last minute and then deciding they are not doing the dining passage. Lesson to be learnt here.
Hopefully your cruise is fantastic and this hump is quickly forgotten.

Its $235 per person on our upcoming August cruise on Harmony and we will be the only ship there. Definitely wont be going there.

I live in Trinidad. I do not know where Port Royal gets his info but its false. Bottle water is perfectly safe here. Like most Caribbean countries there is crime and places to go and not to go. Feel free to eat and you do not need to where gloves and change clothing etc. I live here and never did that in and out of my house and all is well.
I usually tell people take a taxi to Maracas bay beach. Its about a 40 to 45 minute drive that will take you over the Northern range through beautiful natural rain forest. You will then break through to great ocean views as you head down to the bay. While there you could swim and enjoy a world famous shark and bake sandwich. Andrew Zimmerman and Anthony Bordaine called it one of their best sandwiches. On the way to Maracas ask your driver to take you past the magnificent seven for photo ops. See attached link for more info.

Quite a few of Royal ships are anchored off Barbados.

We always pre-pay our gratuities. After that additional cash tipping
is based on service that we think deserves such.
Never been on a cruise where we have not tipped additional cash
to at least two people.
We will continue with this method when we resume cruising.

If cruises reopened in August would you cruise or cancel?
Definitely not. Our plan will be to watch how things unfold for a few months after ships start
back sailing. If no major issues with infections we will then book.

All our Travel vacations weather cruises or land vacations are cancelled for 2020.
WE feel its better to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
If things improve drastically towards the end of the year our plans can change.
Nothing is written in stone at the moment.
Keep safe everyone.

No I do not know about the OB. Check tripadvisor for reviews.
I usually stay at the JW Marriott as I am a Marriott member. It can be pricey at times but I usually combine with points.
A lot of cruisers stay and recommend Hampton Inn and Suites Miami Brickell Downtown. Great Location and great reviews.

I have a cruise out of Miami booked for next month (April 2020) and there a many rooms

Lobster is on the second formal night.
Navigator only operates 3 & 4 night cruises out of Miami. No second formal night.
As a matter of fact they have no formal night just dress to impress on the second night.

Its a little south of the hot spots on brikell like the city center mall and mary village.
Not a walk I would like to be doing at night but thats just me.
Plenty other options in the heart of the action.

You are right to be concerned. I too have a cruise booked in April and so far will go.
Wish I did not have one booked at this time of uncertainty.
I certainly would not be booking another cruise until this has passed.
Our Newspapers are reporting today that there is a case in st Barts and French St Marteen.
Health Ministers of Several Caribbean islands met in Barbados yesterday to discuss measures
for the COVID 19.
One Head line today states. "Emergency talks as COVID 19 Hits region".
Nothing shocking as it was expected to. Hopefully all the islands have the resources to handle it effectively.

Seeing you are getting in so late it does not leave you much time to do anything.
Basically you are looking for a comfortable bed for the night.
I would stay at the Miami Airport Hotel located in the airport. (No waiting on shuttle required).
I would then leave next morning for the port at FLL around 10:00 am.
Many choices of transportation. Booked Limos, Taxis at the airport, Uber etc.

Missed it in August while on 4 day Navigator. Got 25% of value of your
cruise cost off towards next cruise.

Its a complete different scene to Caribbean cruises. Yes the solarium pool is covered but there are no pool activities like mens sexy leg completions and biggest belly flop etc.
Its more about the scenery. When we stopped at hubbard Glacier the crew launched their little power boat and went to collect some ice that broke off. They then brought it aboard and made cocktails with the ice saying the ice in your drink is hundreds of years old and the the drink will keep you young . LOL. It was a nice touch.
I guide from one of the small towns also came aboard and talked about their life and history of their village.

The Trellis Bar in Central Park has a very nice atmosphere.
This is our choice also. Usually some relaxing soft music being played throughout Central Park in the evening.

Personally I would call in advance and Mention it at check in just in case
the message did not get down to the correct people.
I would also contact the insurance company ASAP.

$99 for Navigator O.S. April 27th Cruise

Last 4 night cruise we did last August on Navigator there was no formal night.
There was a dress to impress night on the second night.
Most people did dress in suits and long dresses. Personally i wore a sports
Jacket.

I am with the group that do not mind at all. we do not like long dragged out dinners in the MDR.
Its so noisy and cramped in there. The quicker we get out the better and therefore we always do
MTD with a table for two.
Having said that we do enjoy restaurants with a more romantic private setting and will usually
stretch our time there and savor every minute.

Checking in without the app
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I too use my computer to do the check-in. On my upcoming cruise this end of August at exactly 45 days out I logged in to my account opened the particular sailing and check in was available. Did my check in got to pick check in time, set up account etc. Cruise Documents became available exactly 30 days out at which time I printed my bag tags off the last page.
I do have the app but have not used it to date. Will use it on the day for health info and safety drill viewing and confirmation of same.
Its so strange how common it is with RCL some basic things work for some and not for others. Hopefully one day there IT department gets all its ducks in a row.
