I am trying to decide if it is worth buying drink package or not.   From what I read the classic includes drinks up to $10 and if over you pay difference plus gratuity.   But what are standard prices?   I have searched on CC and the internet and cannot seem to find any of the drink menus.   I know fancy cocktails will cost more but am looking for typical like Bulleit and diet coke or Titos and diet sprite.   Also can anyone tell me cost of mocktails. Traveling with young grandson that will feel grown up sitting there with a drink.   TIA.

Not really my business, but as a retired bartender why would you mix Bulleit with diet coke, or Tito'd wit diet sprite?  Do you think it sounds distiguished?  I could mix bar bourbon with diet coke and cheap vodka with diet sprite and you would not be able to know the difference.

Celebrity does have single zero roulette on some ships. I am constantly amazed when the single zero table and double zero tables are both open how many more people are sitting at the double zero table. Single zero is one of the best bets in the casino as opposed to double zero which is the worst.

On a recent Princess cruise I saw a zero, double zero and a "princess" creating 39 possibilities

My husband and I are trying to decide between two cruises. Both itineraries leave from Southampton and include Edinburgh, Invergordon, Belfast, and Dublin. The 11-night cruise (Sept. 3/24) also includes Stornoway, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris. The 10-night cruise (Sept. 14/24) does not include those ports, but includes Kirkwall, Liverpool, and Portland. They are very close in price despite one being one day longer than the other.

Knowing so little about the ports, I am hoping for expert opinions about which cruise to choose. Hearing from experienced cruisers will help us in our decision.

Thank you in advance for any sharing that comes our way!

I recently returned from a cruise that stopped in LeHavre.  We took a private tour to Normandy with stops in Bayeux (for lunch) the to Honfleur.  Well worth it.  Others to a tour to Paris and had very little time there.

You can make reservation in the Cruise Planner.  Go to the Specialty Dining section and scroll to the end and you will find the MDR.

There is no way to make your request to avoid all busy areas know ahead of time.

I have done this today - I wonder if I will know in advance what our table assignment will be?

I have done Overlord twice - they are great!

The point on Omaha beach we stopped at was where a national guard division landed - did not know they were there.  The cemetery was very moving - especially the wall with 2000 MIA names.  When they find one - a designation is put on the wall and the remains are buried there.  To date they have recovered the remains of 20 servicemen.

We also used Overlord tours we got a group together from our roll call it was a great but a very emotional tour for me because my dad was on Normandy Beach and was a POW.  I highly recommend a private tour.

Is your father still alive?  We did the Overlord tour 9B last month - the driver was very knowlegable.  He had to go to school for 3 years to be a guide.  We stopped at Omaha beach - I even gathered some sand - looking to find a survivor I can give it to. We also stopped in a small town for lunch, and then a town called Honfleur.

In the "old days" cash tips were handed out on the last evening of the cruise.  I still do this in envelopes obtained from the guest relations desk; they are available for free, and they have a stack for this purpose.  I write a short note on the envelope (thank you and good luck, and my name), and I give them out before dinner, dining room staff receive their envelopes as I'm leaving dinner. Have a great cruise.

I remember in the "old days"  when this was the custom.  On the last day at breakfast, the waiter commented to me how empty the dining room was.  He said those were the tables where people did not tip the night before.  Situations like this lead to the autimatic gratuities.

First of all, isolate aggressively and completely from anyone else in your household that would be going on the cruise and is negative now. That means stay in one room and bathroom and wear a mask if you step outside the room. Call your MD to get an evaluation for Paxlovid. Wear a mask in the car to your doc visit and drive yourself if you can. I think it may be too late for a Cert of Recovery, that has to be at least 11 days prior, I think.

I would test myself every 48 hours after day 5-6. My husband actually started to show decreasing positivity about day 8 and negative on day 10-11. His initial positive was weak, though, we just happen to catch it early and his 48 hour test (he refused to believe he was positive) was actually much stronger than his first positive. Good luck, everyone’s experience, especially for the vax Ed and boosted, is quite different, so it’s hard to give specifics.

I am confused - how can one test be more positive than another - either you test positive or you don't!  Also what does wearing a mask in a car do?

I took a 2000 Pétrus Pomerol earlier this year and we were going to have it in Murano (Anniversary Dinner). I coordinated with the Sommelier to come down at 5 and properly decant it. Our reservation was for 8 and it was perfect.

I assume you travelled from California - did you feel safe travelling with a 7K plus bottle of wine, or are you blowing smoke?

If I book drink packages, excursions, etc pre-cruise, are they refundable in the event we are unable to take the cruise?  I seem to remember in the past they were only refundable if you cancelled a few days before departure.   I could not find the current policy.

I just had a similar situation.  I had booked a "cruise only"  and paid separatly for the beverage package.  I switched to an all inclusive and got a refund for the beverage package.
