  1. There's a restaurant in the Outer Banks in North Carolina ( I think it's called the Wind Mill) that bought a lot of U.S. United States fixtures at auction and are all on display there. They have photos of all of them on their web site.

It was the Windmill - in Nags Head. Unfortunately it closed many years ago and was burned down as part of a fire training.

They had the ship's bell,, as well as the bar. The seats had name tags for such celebrities as JFK, Jackie O and Marilyn Monroe.

  2. Pools on Equinox....

So it looks like there's a covered pool as well as an open pool area. To beat the crowds, is a morning swim in the pools possible? Can you do that first thing before breakfast? Are teens allowed in the indoor pool? What about sunset or nighttime swims?

I believe the Solarium is adult only. The only time this is not true is on an Alaska cruise.

  3. Now looking at booking a cabin on the hump on deck 7 or 8. We have had terrible noise from the Centrum on RCCL ships and wonder if we will be ok on the Equinox. Is an angled balcony just forward of the hump quieter than just aft or no difference? Thanks !

    Linda

Quick Question - Are you Linda and Joe From Clearwater area? Did you frequent a restaurant called G. Bellini's ? If so, we know you and will be on the same cruise - hump cabin on deck 7

  4. What do they call the fee if your wine has a screw cap?

And before criticizing screw caps remember that some of the finest wines now come with a screw cap. I tended bar for 25 years including an exclusive resort in Florida) and remember being told" if wine had been created today, cork would not have been the stopper of choice".

  5. Thanks for adding another list. Anyone looking at it please bear in mind that this is from an Australia/New Zealand itinerary and may not be correct for other routes like Europe or the Caribbean.

I wonder if the prices quoted are even in US dollars as they are different to what is stated on other routes.

I would love if someone on a Caribbean cruise could obtain this same list.

  6. same here, love that you can still order them for Celebrity and not waste my color printer to print them off. Ordered them for our April 15th Summit

I print mine myself and use my laminator to cover them. I don't think a few cents worth of ink is such a big deal!

  7. I just looked on the Equinox schedule and there are only 3 cruises from Miami this summer- two in June and one in August. One basic word to know is HOT.

The Caribbean ports are extremely hot in the summer- microwave oven hot!

There will also be lots of families with lots of kids on board. This means - well, you know.

I don't think you can get a good comparison of two lines at the busiest time of a limited schedule.

Equinox is great. I have sailed RCL a few times and greatly prefer Celebrity in every aspect.

    Whatever you decide - enjoy!

I am booked on the Equinox out of Miami - 9 nites leaving 5/26

  8. Sailing on Reflection on March 11 in a S2...wondering about the iPod dock whether it will handle the latest iPhone models?

From what I have read on other posts, there is no iPod dock. Can't imagine Celebrity or any other line would provide something for such old technology

  9. We have booked the Atlantis submarine in Grand Cayman and the Sunset Catamaran in Aruba. Does anyone have comments about these excursions?

Also, any suggestions for things to do in Bonaire and Curacao. We were thinking we might rent scooters and see the islands on our own, with a stop along the way for lunch. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  10. Thanks for the info. Will be on the Equinox on 5/26. I learned more about the show times, etc. than I could learn on Celebrity's web site.

I did note that one evening in the martini bar has an introduction to Ultra Premium martinis. As a retired mixologist, this might interest me. Just not sure it should be at the same time as the LGBT social hour.

  11. When I traveled to Costa Rica - I saw something on the government web site that you should leave your passport in your hotel save and only go on excursions with a copy. We were stopped on the road in Costa Rica by the federales and they accepted the photo copies.
