Exactly. This is also why Craps and Roulette earn very few comps. The Pass line in craps, along with odd/even or red/black on the Roulette table have the lowest house advantage in the entire casino. That is how I decide whether or not a casino is a good one or not- any casino that lacks a craps or roulette table is likely stacking the odds on every game in there- including the slots.

Some cruise lines even make the craps table odds a bit worse by lowering the payouts.

red/black and odd/even have a house edge over 5% on the ships roulette tables as they use double zero wheels.

even 6/5 blackjack has less then half the house advantage of roulette.

    .

and actually the don't pass line with odds has a slightly lower house advantage then the pass line, I just don't enjoy playing the dark side.

$250 of your own money for $100 off a future cruise...

Gotcha.  Now I see why they treat the gamblers so well.  No doubt Royal always comes out on top.

    maybe,

however I have saved way more in cruise fares then I have spent in the casino,

my next cruise alone dropped $2200 dollars after I applied my tier certificate, I actually got half of my deposit refunded as the deposit was twice the final price of the cruise.

  3. mathematically, assuming a 80% payback on slots it would cost ~$2300 cash in to reach prime if you replay any winnings.

that of course is if the math "works" for you. you can get lucky and win a major for $2500 on pull one and prime wont cost you a cent out of pocket,.

on the other hand, I have friends that had horrible luck on the machines and didn't get near the points we had expected for their cash in amount,

I suspect the payback percentage is closer to 90% as, both times I have made prime it has cost me considerably less then the math suggested it would, although it cost me almost the exact same amount each time. although again that just may be me being "lucky"

Personally, I would not play the tables if Prime status is your goal. In my experience it has cost me far more per point on the tables then the slots.

Luckily I enjoy both slots and craps so play i slots for points and craps for fun.

you can’t use your own reusable cup in the freestyle machines.

you can-  its just takes a little preplanning and a solid stomp to the provided cup.

I can't tell you the number of times I have been told it won't work as I start to fill up my Yeti only to have the persons jaw drop as it starts to flow

Thank you.  That's what I was thinking... I'll just wait until I can book a longer solo cruise, or one with 2 days at seas.  Do you mind if I ask you another question?  I've called the Club Royale and talked to someone who got as confused, or more, than I... If you make Prime on a cruise in Jan 2020... are you "Prime" and potentially getting emails/flyers for cruises until March 31, 2021 (which would give you over a year of getting perks), with the free cert only able to be used Ap 2020-March 31, 2021? What happens if you make "Prime" on April 2, 2020?  Are you considered Prime not for 2020, but only for the following year (March 2021-Ap 2022) and  the free cert can only be used then (2021-2022)  The lady on the phone seemed to indicate there were times you are prime for more than 1 year, and other time you are Prime for 12 months... just depends on when you reach Prime level.

you are prime for the remainder of the current  program year and then the entire next program year.

you will receive your prime tier cert in April of the new program year

Hi.  I've read a lot of the general casino posts, but now that I will be boarding next Sunday, trying to get some concrete answers to these questions (this cruise is comped by URComped):

    1.  Is there any benefit to finding and introducing yourself to the Casino Host(or someone else) on the first day of the cruise?

    2.  Are there two types of Points earned while playing slots (or the tables or whatever)?  For example, for my land based casino, there are loyalty points, which can be used for purchases on the casino grounds, and also have a cash value for gambling.  There are also tier credits, which then get you more and better perks the higher your level.  I know it's 2499 points to get a free cruise certificate, and 2500 for Prime and a free annual cruise. But is there another type of points which you can turn into OBC or ??  And if so, does the slot machine show both types of points?

    3.  I've read about people on the last night asking the Casino Host about possible OBC.  Anyone know how many points you might have to have to get this?  How can you get a comped dinner in a specialty restaurant?  And if you do this, does it affect any casino offers you might get in the future?

    4.  Any expectations of little "gifts" in my stateroom if I have enough coin in?

    Thanks!

    1. it wont hurt, but doubt it will really help to be frank. making friends with the pit bosses and dealers would serve you better as they are the ones who actually track your play on the tables

    2. really only 1 type of points, the slots will track your points towards tier level through your sea pass card, there is a small cash value to those points that can be cashed in, I want to say maybe $10 per 1000 points, they don't go away once cashed in (they still count towards your tier) but they will no longer show on the machine. table are points are the same but I don't think they ever will show up on the machine.

3.I have never done this, I would be surprised as they have already had a shot at your action for that cruise and the program is really designed to get you back on another cruise.

    4. The cruise I made Prime I got zilch, I have never received anything from the casino other then my end of cruise certs and drinks with my prime tier on my card

Can the comped yearly cruise that comes with Prime level and above be used on any cruise (8 days or less) if there is availability or is it restricted to certain cruises Anybody know

    Thank you in advance.

You sound like my sister....spends 500.00 and claims to get a free inside cabin offer multiple times a year. I am thinking you must have hit a jackpot at some point and they want you back. Anyways...I honestly do not think a one time per cruise organized slot pull is really going to make a difference. I also agree with everything casinocompchick has said. Now, in Vegas (see youtube) where there are professionals who organize slot pulls for a living...that is a different story.

I will be taking the second of three(so far) free cruises I have earned from Club Royal.

saved $2200 on one of them, which is significantly more then I spent earning the cruises in the casino-

and no, I have not won a jackpot

and yes, I do get offers for a free cruise about every other month, with discount offers in between

We were on a short 3 night cruise the Mariner and at 2 of the 3 dinners he was served food that had gluten and would have made him sick.  One was in the main dining room and the other at Jamie’s Italian, and this was after being very clear about his allergies while ordering.   It was very disappointing.  So just be very careful and double check everything they serve.

some of our traveling companions are children with celiac, the parents have a little portable gluten tester they take along on the ships.

be warned that every gluten free pizza they have tested from Sorento's has failed, including one made by one of the higher up chefs after she showed him her tester and told him that the pizzas were failing.

Many replies here are missing the point. This is not a third world country. It is a luxury island owned by a billion dollar company. All the problems can be fixed very quickly if you spend the money. To use other islands problems as an excuse is pathetic and easy way for RC not to spend the money.

nobody but you is missing the point.

how much exactly would it cost for you forget about your friends, family, and home to go clean up a beach so that  some self centered *****  j a c k a s s doesn't have to be bothered by some sea grass?

According to the CDC, in 2017 only 14% of Americans smoke cigarettes.  Easily confirmed on their website.  Why does anyone, any company, any cruise line cater to 14% of the public while ignoring the preference of 86% ?  Doesn't seem like a great marketing decision to me.

i would bet that they have studied it and I assume that more non smokers will gamble in a smoky casino then smokers will in a smoke free one

"they keep sending" you "a list of free cruise"?

Aren't you just supposed to get a free annual cruise as Prime member? And the free annual cruise cert can be used for any cruise up to 8 days.

Do you mean that you got more than one free cert?

I get a mailing pretty much every month with a list of free cruises I could take

  13. Be warned-

I had the same "confirmation" for my time dinning on Enchantment 2 weeks ago, my set sail pass said 5:30 traditional when we finally got to the rooms and picked up our sea pass's

I had to go to the main dining room and argue with staff who said that we had been wait listed when we booked and my time was full so we were stuck with the 5:30 traditional, unfortunately for them I always have copies of all my travel arrangements on my phone and they 'made an exception for us'" after I showed them I was confirmed.

When something like this happens, you go to the US Embassy or your country's Embassy or Consulate.  Take a picture of it on  your phone or make a paper copy so that if the passport is stolen like this, you can quickly obtain a new passport.

Also everyone should download the app "Smart Traveler" that the State Department created from the App Store on their device, check it whenever you leave the country, it's very informative and helpful.

Also if you have Twitter, follow the State Department, they always update you on demonstrations, etc., and will respond back to you as well if you have questions.

copies or pictures will do no more good then your drivers license. its literally a waste of paper.

I'm not sure what you mean by "if you hit at least 2400 on a single cruise".    Do you mean you have to earn 2400 all from one cruise to qualify for the certificate... or can it take you take a few cruises to earn the 2400, and whatever cruise you are on at the time you actually get to 2400 points, you will be given the cert.?

if you hit 2400 points on a single cruise you qualify for a free cruise essentially from that ships casino-

once you hit 2500 points total you will earn what is called the tier certificate at the beginning of the next program year-

so if you were to hit 2500 points on 1 cruise you would actually get 2 free cruises- 1 from the ship, 1 for the tier.
