  1. I was looking for some "outdoorsy" time while in Denmark precruise. I noted that Denmark has 3 national parks. Has anyone been to them? They do not seem super easy to get to. Would it be worth (or even possible ) to go to one, spend the day and get back to Copenhagen without overnighting elsewhere?

  2. Thanks all. We have from 0800 until about 11pm. Roll call was a bust ( Disney Magic June 11 sailing from Copenhagen). Appreciate the input. Checked a couple companies that only offer private tours if doing 2 days. Wish we were because there is so much to see! I will keep looking at recommended companies since I more clearly understand you CAN do a private tour company without extra Visa.

  3. Have only one day in St. Petersburg... how can we feasibly cram in?

Waffling with doing a Visa, not sure if needed for private customized tour. Would like to see Church on the Spilled Blood, get a blini, see some of the national treasures without too much Museum time, a little shopping, maybe visit a market ...

  4. I personally went on the excursion mentioned above by budget queen. It was a great trip but I a, not sure it would satisfy an "expert" kayaker. The trip is designed to accommodate a variety of levels. If the desire is to just get out on the water in a beautiful setting for a little while, this does the trick. If you are looking for a challenging expert kayak adventure, maybe not so much... This does also take the scenic railway from town so you can experience a little of both!

  5. We are doing the princess round trip Seattle to Tracey arm... Does princess offer the small boat tour I keep seeing mentioned? Also, is there more inside passage on the way up to AK or the way back on the round trip Seattle? We did Vancouver previously and it was so beautiful ... Not sure how Seattle will compare but locked in to that departure port.

  6. Hi there!

You may very well be a little early in the season but We had a great half day trip with Don from Ketchikan charters. He worked hard to put us on salmon and worked with our cruise ship schedule. We had previously fished with Northern lights charters but sadly, Ken passed away prior to our last trip.

  7. Thanks to all for the always wonderful info!! I think we will go with the luggage storage and fetch option! As far as our 4 hours... It is all weather dependent! I am now thinking about saving Granville Island Market or The big Gardens in China town (the name is currently escaping me) or maybe a seawall bike for post cruise rather than keeping them on the pre-cruise list of to do's. If the weather isn't stellar, I will certainly keep the new Mall in mind! I love the food idea, but the last time we got off the ship, we didn't want much food since we ALWAYS overindulge onboard!! Thanks again to all!!!

  8. We have about 4 hours post cruise before we need to head to the airport for our flight home. First does the service that will store and transfer luggage only promise to have the luggage at YVR by 4 pm, or can you designate a time you need it there? Also, trying to decide an activity to "save" during our 2 days pre cruise for those 4 hours post cruise. We will have done a good overview of the city pre, so not really interested In the city tours we have seen offered. Would love ideas for that time frame. lastly... How cash-centric is Vancouver? Trying to decide if we need to get US dollars converted to Canadian prior to the trip... Don't want to have to fiddle with ATMs if not necessary. Plan to mainly use a no foreign transaction fee credit card. Sorry this is so long!! Thanks in advance!

  9. Wow thanks so much to everyone for your kind responses! Urban trekker, we will be staying at The Holiday Inn at 1110 Howe. Not sure if that is walkable... Looks a little far but hard to tell from the little map. Also, tickets for the lounge just say General admission so I am guessing it is a bit of a free for all. It makes me a bit anxious that there is no street address anywhere on the actual ticket or email. Good to know there will be lots of helpful volunteers to direct folks! Thanks again for all the great responses!!

  10. I was unable to find an answer by doing a search... Do Vancouver taxi cabs take credit cards?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Honda fireworks competition in Vancouver? I bought tickets for the event for July 25 near English bay at the clearly spectacle lounge. We are wondering how late we can get in. Ticket says it opens at 6pm but fireworks not until 10 pm. Any info about the event from experience would be very helpful! Website assumes knowledge of the area. We are not sure where the lounge is, how to get to that area of town, other logistics... Any help would be appreciated !

  11. I am posting this both here and the Canada forum as I wasn't sure which was more appropriate...

We booked a 1 night cruise for. Seattle to Vancouver and another 3night from Vancouver to San Pedro, CA where we live. A friend tried to call and link these 2 cruises together and the cruise line told her this was not allowed. I had no problem booking them separately however. I am wondering if anyone has booked a consecutive itinerary and had to debarked and reboard for the 2nd cruise. If so, did they at least store your luggage for you??

  13. I preferred the tour at Greenwell farms to Kona Joes, preferred the coffee too. All have a tasting room so you can sample before you buy. In contrast to another post cautioning against dark or French roasts, they are all very different and a matter of preference. Mountain Thunder French Roast is great and can be purchased at a great discount at Costco. We have found it at both the Kona Costco as well as the Oahu Costco is you want some for gift giving!

  14. A couple of additions: in response to the Starbucks Hawaii mugs, I have seen them at the Starbucks at the airport in Honolulu if that is all you are looking for! Save your touring time and snag one while at the airport! On a note about Costco. You can find "only in Hawaii" Hershey kisses with macadamia nuts in larger bags at Costco than at Walmart, etc. Costco also has Thunder Mountain 100%Kona coffee at Costco for considerably less money than at the plantation on Kona. This is the place that the ships tour for plantation tours as well as the one featured on Mike Rowes Dirty Jobs on Discovery channel. Good stuff.!
