I tried a search and was unsuccessful.

Do we still watch videos in the app the morning of the cruise?

I know check in at our muster station on board, but didn't know when the safety briefing showed up in the app.  Morning of?

    Morning of.

  2. I had this last time as part of my booking deal. It's 90 complimentary minutes and you can sign up for your account at Guest Services. After that, we were told it reverts to basic Internet at a discount.

We were instructed to disable our VPNs in order to not interfere with Starlink.

100% agree with this.  Before booking any cruise, I head over to YouTube and watch at least two or three hours of videos regarding the ship.  That gives me a good feel on what to expect, both positive and negative.

It has also steered me away from cruise lines that just will not meet my needs.

As for the YouTube content producers, after watching several of their videos, you can generally tell which ones are reliable and which ones are blowhards

The only negative is that many of the producers are being paid well by the cruise lines and can be little more than paid shills.

Of course, you can get that on message boards too.

Which is why if you look at the bio of my channel (Cruisingwithkristen), I make it clear that any reviews are only what I experienced, as I'm not connected in any way to any cruise line.

What you see in my videos is what you get. You may not see the whole ship as I may not have had time to explore the entire ship, but it at least gives an idea of what to expect.

  4. Your shop card/SeaPass will be your ID once onboard as well as your credit card and room key so guard it with your life. Princess has Medallions, RFID versions of the SeaPass.

While not always appearing directly on your card, your picture will be stored on there and brought up by staff when purchasing items or embarking/debarking at each port.

For extra ID, even off cruise ships, I took pictures of my IDs and have them stored on my phone.

I've only heard the first and I doubt it will be considered a classic someday as it rarely gets airtime now nor do people seem to be clamoring to do covers of it.

Adding to my list: "Lips Are Moving" (later covered by Pentatonix), "Better When I'm Dancing" (from "The Peanuts Movie"), and "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" (later covered by "Us The People"). So people are doing covers of her songs and she's had more than one chart-topper.

classically designated as a One-Hit Wonder (and not of the seas)

I would have been the Godmother for the cost of one free cruise. My rendition of Tequila wows the crowd everytime. (I as perform a fantastically stirring Hot Butter-Popcorn and also Run, Don’t Walk.)

Ever heard of "All About That Base", "Made You Look", or "Dear Future Husband"?

A far cry from a "One Hit Wonder" as far as I'm concerned.

  7. Generally, cruise lines don't care how many bags you bring or what type, so I would do what's easier for you. Just make sure you bring documents, medications, and swimsuits (some ships may have the pools open on Embarkation Day) with you on your carry-on.

  8. It's actually not that complicated if you start in the right place. ALWAYS start by looking at the cruise line website to see anything specific to that line. If you're interested in booking, call a TA or call the number on the website.

By looking at places like Cruise Critic first, you'll get a million responses from millions of people with different experiences. Depending on what you're looking for, that can be great: if it's something line-specific, just go straight to the source on the company's website. If it's something not specific to the cruise line, then go ahead and post here.

If you want to get a feel for the ship, YouTube is a great source.

  9. You CAN book your own excursions, as they're usually somewhat cheaper than going through the cruise line, but you run the risk of missing the "All Aboard" time. If you miss that, the ship may leave without you.

If you book an excursion through the cruise line and the excursion is running late, they'll hold the ship for you if you miss the "All Aboard" time. Plus, if there's any issues with the excursion, you can address it directly with the Shore Excursions desk onboard. We had issues on my cruise last week with a shore excursion booked through the cruise line and were able to address the issue directly with them, along with about 15-20 other impacted passengers.

  10. Just off Liberty, you can't reserve any shows, even the ice show. Your only hope is to get there early enough.

It wasn't a problem for me with the theater since my cabin was right next to the theater.

Sailing Liberty in 2 weeks for the first time. I'm looking forward to Saturday night fever, I guess we will see how it actually is. I was following a cast member\head dancer on Instagram for a while so it was cool to see some of the behind the scenes stuff. We sailed Oasis a few times last year, so actually excited to see a slightly smaller, (but not small) ship and see how the layout and crowds feel.

Sign up for the backstage tour, you'll get to meet the cast. Our cast member was the Dance Captain and she talked about what goes on behind the scenes, rehearsals, and the audition process (she said she went through 7 rounds).

What amplifications do you think she will get that will be worth waiting for? Playmakers? Maybe an El Loco Fresh? The actually took away a free sauna and steam room from Freedom when they amped her. I am hoping for less of an "amp" like Indy got instead of one like Freedom got when Liberty goes for hers.

I could do without El Loco Fresh, but would love to see a Playmakers onboard. Would love to see the Lazer Tag too.

I'd LOVE for them to redo the slides slightly. I'm a 6ft tall slender girl who got stuck on both slides on every turn. Angling them a little differently and adding more water pressure would make a huge difference .

Hope they keep the deeper pool in the Solarium but would love to have it be a covered pool.

Would love to see them amp the arcade a bit, there was hardly anyone in there.

And I KNOW that this isn't likely to happen, but I'd love to see them add "The Ultimate Abyss".

Finally, I was quite surprised to see there weren't any Freestyle machines like some of the more recent ships have. This would be an advantage if you have the drink package vs having to wait at the bar.

Wonder if we were on the same tour. Ours was Friday 9:30am.

I appreciate how hard they worked on it and the choreography and sets were fantastic   my issue with it was (from my perspective) it was sometimes difficult to make put the dialogue.   Idk if it was in the delivery of the lines (the speed of their delivery) or just my old ears....but it got frustrating that I felt I was missing some of what they were saying.

We were on the same tour!

I went to 2 different showings of "Saturday Night Fever", the opening show and matinee. The matinee was easier to understand but they had their own issues: they experienced technical difficulties and had to delay the show for about 5-10 min. Some of the sets and mics weren't working.

    Hi All,

Going on my First cruise later in the year. I am wondering what tours they do on a Cruise ship.

I know some cruise ships has tours of the Galley but do they have other tours of the ship ie. Like on the Bridge.

    Thanks

Due to security, it's unlikely they'll do tours of the bridge. That said, many offer my favorite tour: the backstage tour of the theater where you'll get to meet the cast of the production show and ask them any questions (literally ANY questions fro auditions to putting on show on it's feet and seeing the final product).

  15. Whoever told you Celebrity is for 55+ is clearly WRONG......and that's coming from someone who's not even out of her 30's yet and has been cruising Celebrity since she was 5 years old.

On almost every Celebrity ship I go on, there's always a mix of older and younger cruisers.

It's more about what you want to get out of the vacation, not the age of the passengers.
