I know PC are an American cruise line but I kind of assumed a kettle was standard especially out of Southampton or anywhere in Europe.
wondering if I’ll need to ask for a Kettle on Sky now. Needing to ask doesn’t bother me as long as they have them. Just a bit bemused.
I’m no good in the morning without a cuppa first thing!
We are on Sky now. We have a kettle as do all the Southampton sailings.

Hi.
Well I can't report back as Alghero has now been cancelled. Just as we were ready to sail from Rome we had an announcement that the Mistral wind we had in Marseille would affect the tenders and it would not be safe, we would sail to Gibraltar instead arriving about 6pm and over nightingale until 4pm the following day.
Shame.

Ergo watching for a minute. I can usually see the pool or hot tub and make an educated guess.
As the OP posted, this was at 8am. Probably not a lot of people in the pool or hot tub, just a bunch of cruisers who want to eat breakfast and think/believe putting down a Princess towel really means anything.
Did pop to main pool about 4 and quite a few gaps and space but a group of 4 still with everything on it the same as at 8 this morning. That's just rude!
Won't spoil our hols though.

You need to adopt the Jack Nicholson (Five Easy Pieces approach) -see end of post.
May I have a Dolce Vita please? Oh and hold the cheesecake, sauce, cream, chocolate and sprinkles. Thank you…I’m a bit worried about dropping it so could I have a metal dish instead of a glass.
Thank you.
BOBBY: Okay, I’ll make it as easy for you as I can. I’d like an omelet. Plain. And a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast. No mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce. And a cup of coffee.
WAITRESS: A Number Two. Chicken sal san. Hold the butter, the lettuce and the mayonnaise. And a cup of coffee.
Haha like that.

Yes all chilled out and the cocktails arriving to the cabin. The apps working well so far and haven't had a long wait yet. The poor deck attendant was struggling earlier but not sure how busy it is up there.
Enjoying the view of endless sea.

Oh well it had to happen....sun bed hogs hit the Sky Princess today.
We went for breakfast at 8 and not a single sunbed to be seen. All had towels and other possessions on, no people though. As a school LSA I know I can only book school holidays but I haven't come on holiday to run this gauntlet every sea day. It's like Benidorm !! The Brits will know what I mean.
We're lucky as we've a mini suite on the bump out with the big balcony but last time I'll do out of Southampton in holidays.
I might do a bit about the stops we have in the med if anyone is interested. We'll rant over and back to my book

On Sky now I asked if I could have just a scoop of gelato instead of the offer and he said no. The desert offered is just as disgusting in real life... no thanks Princess I would not call it a perk.

Did you have diesel fumes and very loud engine noise on your Wheel experience? I'm wondering if the boat had problems the day I was on it
Hi. No fumes might have been 2nd boat of the day. We had a wait of 1 hour till our time.
Ours was last August and it was a damp start.

I enjoyed the wheel experience however there was a lot of wasted time before our turn to go on the wheel. They did a quick detour to the Kelpies which I think are worth seeing but we had so little time at Stirling Castle it was ridiculous. I had pre booked our tickets so we went straight in but did not see it all.
In all if you can get a private tour book it I wish we had.

Our first time on Sky and first mini suite. I managed to get an angled extended balcony on caribe. A bit of extra leg room as I was surprised how narrow the balconies were.
We sail next Sat (29th) and have had 3 emails with offer to bid on upgrade, but unless I bid on a suite I won't gain anything and I rather spend the difference on something else.

The only queue we've ever encountered here was to visit the home of Napoleon Bonaparte. The market is good to walk through and right in front of you at the port. Look for the peaches they really are giant here and taste the local cheeses. There are stops here for the open top bus tour and across the road on the market side the little road train. There were no queues at the Fesch on one of our visits and there were 2 cruise ships in port.
The train stops at the sights and will wait while you climb the steps of the Napoleon monument.

A little walk to the main square is nice. You can go to the top of the clock tower. The Praetorian palace is open for visits and if you go through the arch there used to be a good ice cream shop. Nice place for little mooch about and back for a relax in the afternoon.

We did an independent your lots of local guides here.

Orkney tour guide association.
The port is not located at the town. When we visited last year local buses ran from the port.

A walk depending on how you feel. South of the river over Tower Bridge to where you can the Old Anchor Brew house to the right of the bridge. Down here you will find the Anchor Tap pub in Horseleydown Lane.
My ancestor was the landlord here back in Victorian times@ 1850s

Have a look at the time everyone else is leaving as well as size of ship.
cruisemapper.com/ports
They have an hour between departures scheduled so there will be a constant flow heading for the cable car. We walked down but you need good light to see where you are going.

First Princess cruise we did a balcony 2adults and 2 children....never again. Subsequent cruises were one balcony and one inside. This year just 3 of us and we booked a MA mini suite as soon cabin price for our cruise was not an option. It's on the bump on Sky and has one of the larger extended balconies so I'm hoping it will work for us.

I too have enjoyed your journey. It's nice to have a travellers view of things and not a sales pitch. The photos have won us over, the weather can be fickle in the area so you were very lucky. We are looking for something different next year a break from the Med.
Enjoy London and thank you for you advise and snippets.

Hi. One for ollienbertsmum
Do you know if the WW2 tunnels will be open by August? When I emailed they said there was no date available.
Many thanks.
-
Many thanks Nini and Buckeye. Will definitely do that.
Roll on 29th July.....but not too quickly or it'll be over before I blink.

Hubby likes the look of that lemon meringue cheesecake.... Hope that's still around for our cruise.
One question if I may? Have you seen iced coffees on Sky? Our 19 year old has to have his fix, if not I might have to bring a powdered variety.
Many thanks.

Sun bed hogs.

Hi. OP back and I see it's a topic of interest.
Well quick update a few people on board have read this as I overheard someone agreeing with removing towels if beds are not used. We did bag a sunbed today as we missed a port stop due to high seas. The pools were all over the deck and so sunbeds were not allowed out.
Had a nice sea day overall.
