  1. quick question for you JDROUIN.......On the MSC site it only advertises a "mineral water" package. Is this plain purified drinking water? As our children do not like any type of sparkling mineral water, and want just plain bottled drinking water. Thank you.

Yes the bottled water package is very reasonable but the package is not in your cabin. I drink half a gallon of filtered water a day at least. So that can get pricey. Thank you for the feed back

  2. How was the weather when you last cruised in March/April? We will be on Meraviglia March 31-April 7th-Western Mediterranean. Enjoy cooler weather for sightseeing, and indoor pool will be fine. Less crowded in Ports compared to June-September. Anyone else cruised this area in March/April?

i'm taking med cruise from rome on 27th March. we're a couple with an infant baby. not looking for too much sea or pool time. will be staying indoors most of the time. our baby doesn't like hot weather and crowded places (as of now). This is my first cruise so dont know but i feel this it the right one for us. what do others feel?

We are sailing on the MSC Divina in Nov., 2017. We have the Fantastica Experience which now includes 12 beverage vouchers to be used in bars, restaurants, and the buffet.

Can anyone who has sailed on Divina recently confirm if the vouchers will be in our cabin on boarding day, or if we have to go to the casino to pick them up. I have heard that people who purchase drink packages need to go to the casino on boarding day, but what about the included drink vouchers?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. we'll be on Meraviglia in March. Thinking of buying Specialty dining. Which package did you purchase, and how much did it cost? I see this one for $70.50 per person. How many meals would this include?

    TRYPTIC - SPECIALITY DINING PACKAGE

I can only speak for Meravigilia as it's the only MSC ship I've been on so far.

We made our reservation via the TV in the room. You can add other guests from other cabins in the reseravation. You can book them for any day of the sailing. We really liked the Butcher's Cut.

Edit: Oops...sorry I just noticed you are asking only those who have been on Divina. I cannot delete this post, so please disregard. :-)

  5. How many meals does this package include? Price is not bad, and with all the recent MDR food reviews......we may have to purchase this!!!! Can't believe the children have to pay the same amount though. Disappointing.

  6. Thanks for the quick reply. Is there water at the buffet drink stations for free? We are avid water drinkers.

Apparently, they are offering incentives to get Americans to cruise with them (my opinion).

Many Europeans do not seem to drink tap water. I don't know why. There is no tap water in the dining rooms. The water is safe to drink (both in the countries and on the ship). We drank the tap water in our cabin and used it to fill our water jugs every day. In Germany, we found no tap water in any restaurant we visited over the 4 days we spent there post cruise.

  7. We are Americans, and sailing next Spring. Fantastica balcony. Just a quick question. Why are Americans allowed FREE bottled water in the MDR, and not everyone? Not complaining. Just seems a bit odd. Is there something wrong with the tap water? Thanks~

Water in the MDR is available but is not free for Europeans. (Americans booking a Fantastica package get bottled water in the MDR for free)

If I were you, I'd call and ask a service rep if you can get the alcohol free package. I've found they have pretty good customer service.

  8. thanks for posting this for all of us.

It's not my review, but here it is:

MSC MERAVIGLIA 'WONDER' BY NAME AND WONDER IN ACTION.

The ship's first voyage from Le Havre France to Genoa Italy June 2017. The ship is big and beautiful the interior and exterior spaces are fabulous the 90m promenade and dome is awesome prepare to be amazed!

Dining venues are very good throughout with lots of very helpful staff and a food selection which is excellent.

We elected to sail in a Fantastica Balcony cabin the cabin was very large with a great sized bed and a convertible couch the shower facilities were very good however there is not enough storage space for our needs and the clothes hangers are too big for the wardrobe and tend to knock on the door if the ship moves in the night, the answer is to turn the hangers away from the doors. The ship sailed without balcony furniture supposedly for safety concerns during manufacturing and we were given an on-board credit to compensate.

The activities available are again excellent.

The only port not visited before by us was Vigo Spain, a beautiful and very walk-able town.

We took an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre and were able to walk quite easily to the Cruise Terminal. Embarkation at Le Havre was disorganised although being early seemed to help - our luggage was delivered to our cabin very quickly. Disembarkation in Genoa was excellent and we were on our way to Genoa Airport again very quickly. At the airport we were invited to take advantage of the MSC Terrace, a quiet oasis in the sun, above the very busy check-in area below. We would recommend you use this facility if at all possible.

Overall this was a most wonderful cruise and we have already booked cruises on MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview.

  9. thanks for taking time to give all of us your review since some of us are not cruising on "The Wonder'" for quite some time. We are next March 2018.

Hi, I'm a bit of a stalker rather than a poster on these boards. I disembarked MSC Meraviglia yesterday in Barcelona and just wanted to give my opinion on this fantastic ship.

Bit of background, myself and my husband are absolute cruise addicts. We started cruising about 10 years ago and have been lucky enough to have been on over 30 cruises. We sailed on the Preziosa last year around the Mediterranean and loved everything about it. We booked a 5 night cruise on the Meraviglia embarking in Genoa. The ports were Naples, Messina, Malta a sea day and then Barcelona. We stayed in an inside cabin on deck 11, the cabin was lovely and certainly bigger than other inside cabins we have stayed in. The ship is absolutely wonderful, definately the best ship we have ever sailed on. The staff and entertainment were top both excellent, you certainly are never short of things to do. We ate in Waves restaurant on the late 9.00 pm sitting. The food I have to say was good but we preferred the food on MSC Preziosa. Yes there are a few teething problems, this seems mainly due to all dining and food orders being taken on i pads. The staff were still getting used to this new system and sometimes the computers crashed and orders had to be taken manually. I can honestly say I was sad to leave the ship yesterday, I would of loved to have stayed on this wonderful ship another week.....

  10. if our ship is supposed to DOCK at 9am, what is the earliest Flight you would book leaving from Marseille?

My husband and I sailed on the Epic from Marseille May 10. We wanted to spend a few days prior to cruising in Marseille so we flew into Paris and took the TGV (which leaves right from the airport) to Marseille. It was a beautiful trip. We stayed 3 nights at the Radisson Blu hotel and loved it. It is a great location with many cafe's within easy walking distance. We chose the rate that included breakfast and we very please with the selection. The first day we did the HOHO bus which had a stop about a block from the hotel. The next day we boarded the electric bus in front of the hotel and took it to the Le Petit train. We wanted to visit Notre Dame and the train takes you right to the top and you can stay as long as you like, taking a later train back to the city. Boarding in Marseille was simple as only a few people embarked there. We had a mini suite (13034) and had plenty of room for storage. The steward brought us more hangars and a lounge for the deck. We did two ship tours, Scenic Palma/ Valldemossa and Montserrat. We enjoyed both of the locations and were disappointed that the NCL tour did not offer more time in each, big negative. If we did this again we would have taken other transportation to each and spent 2 hours touring, as you can not do much in 45 min that the NCL tour offered. As other have stated we found the ship operation for the tours lacking, we either were stationed at the wrong end of the ship for departure and lack of direction to your bus. Not well organized. The ship did offer buses either at a fee or free in the ports. We were very happy with the buffet but also ate in the Manhattan Room, La Cucina, O'Sheehan's and Shanghai. We did not feel that La Cucina and Shanghai were worth the additional. Found it hard to get any information from the customer service desk. We wanted to cash euro's before we disembarked but were told to get them on shore. As we were going to disembark and need funds for taxi and food this was not an acceptable answer but they would not change the funds. We took the NCL shuttle to the Vieux Port for 8.00us per person one way and took a cab to train station. If anyone would like more information on staying and boarding in Marseille, I would be happy to help.

We are boarding next Friday June 16th and have a 8 year old and a 6 1/2 year old... Will let you known how they get on in relation to the waterslide... I've read somewhere it may have height restrictions but also read somewhere that it's not strictly enforced! Seems counter productive if they have waterslides but exclude a large portion of children from them....
  12. Question please... We will be boarding the MSC Meraviglia oj July 7th in Marseille. I have a question for anyone who has already cruised on it. I'm concerned I may have booked my flight too early out of Marseille when we disembark. Does anyone happen to know what time the ship docked? Also, f anyone got off in Marseille, what time were you able to leave? Thanks so much!

Keep us posted on whether or not you have problems with disembarkation and catching your flight out of Marseille. We fly out of Marseille next April, and have not booked our flights yet. So afraid to book too early, and not many choices after 11am flights. If we fly out after 7pm.....what do we do with our bags all day? Can't tour around Marseille with huge suitcases. Lol

  13. Is there anywhere to check in your luggage earlier if we end up having to take an evening flight? Not many flight choices after 11 or 12pm. Train option to Paris was interesting...but hard to book round trip airfare to Us.

  14. Have any of you sailed into Marseille before? Before booking our return flights we want to be sure we can be transported to the Airport in a timely manner to catch international flights as we have to fly home the same day we disembark. Is MSC good about letting you off earlier if you have early flights? We are not YC level....only Fantastica so we do not qualify for early disembarkation. The thing is......if we do not catch the 12:30pm flight out of Marseille to Paris and then to the U.S.......the next one available is not until after 7pm. What to do with our luggage for all those hours if we fly out late? Sorry for all the questions, but we are traveling with our two young children.

  15. Hopefully all of us will be able to share our cabin/stateroom #, and photos in the future.

*we will be on 10th floor Meraviglia next March, #10050, Fantastica balcony room. We sure are enjoying all the photos people are posting from the current cruise that sailed on June 4th.

    Hi,

I will embark in Marseille on saterday the 9th of September from the MSC Meraviglia. Thet ship will be docked at 9 o clock.

If we take our luggage down by ourself will we able to catch the 12 o clock train?

    Tnx

  17. If there are any Meraviglia cruisers disembarking this Year in Marseille and flying internationally the same day out of Marseille please give us some feedback on the time of your flight, and how easy/difficult it was catching your flight. We are still holding off our booking our flights until some feedback comes in. Ship is supposed to dock at 8am, but you know how delays sometimes happen, and we cannot afford to miss our return home flights to the U.S. We'd love to stay in Marseille an extra day, but our work/school schedules does not allow that luxury. We know the taxi ride to the airport will take 30-40min, and we were informed to be at airport 2 hrs prior to departure since it's an International flight. Almost all the flights leave at 11am, and then not until after 7pm. We'd love to tour around Marseille for the day if flying out in the evening, but what to do with 2-3 huge luggage bags.
