My mother has been sailing Celebrity exclusively for 30 years. Now her Elite Plus status really garners very little. The platform nowadays is to cater to the suite class. If you want the upscale food and accommodations this is how you have to get it. We cruised with her on Celebrity Eclipse last oct. and she finally admitted that the food has really gone down from what it used to be. Now if you want the high caliber of food you must either stay in suite class or book at a specialty restaurant.

With 2300 guests, was there any mention of sickness onboard? Sailing 10/6 with my older parents and testing has pretty much gone away so hoping for a healthy sailing!

We are sailing in 25 days. My parents just received the booster and my husband and I contracted Covid the end of June so we are going to live it up and pray we stay well.

Finally about to sail with my aging parents on Celebrity in Oct after rescheduling twice due to Covid. With the testing protocols we felt at least there would be some limit of risk on the ship but with the testing going away for vaxxed guests, who can just as easily get sick(I’ve had it twice) I feel the risk just increased considerably and after we’d made final pymt. I know Covid is here to stay and I am very curious to see how the cruise industry handles the inevitable outbreaks. I think boards like this are important to educate other travelers because there is no guarantee the lines will be transparent with outbreak information.
