Sunset a la Schooner Bar

So anyone who knows me, knows that Empress was the only ship where I consistently received great food and great service in Chops. Some ships have great service but the cut of meat wasn't great. Some have had great food but painful service. So far Radiance is achieving Empress status and that is with the venue at capacity. The cut of meat and flavor put Coastal Kitchen filet to shame, and CK usually outperforms Chops on filet night.

5:45pm reservation.

Chops is hopping. Shortly after I arrived there was a line out the door. It is formal night. Service is great, so far.

Chops for dinner... Pretzel bread. Yum.

Nice chat with Captain Rumen just now. He was on the Allure and Symphony start up teams and did two contracts as Allure's Captain. He was on the bridge when she sailed past earlier today. He loves Oasis class but equally loves Radiance and her ability to get into smaller ports where Oasis class can't go. Radiance, also with azipods is very sporty and nimble to maneuver. Weather looking good through Panama as much as an extended weather forecast in the Caribbean can be trusted. He is very personable and friendly.

Confirm your cruise wasn't canceled. Any other cruise planner bookings cancelled?

Last week I moved cabins to the same category when another interior became available. My old interior cabin was connecting to another cabin, my new interior cabin is not. Same category cabin so no fare difference.

Fortunately I think mine was delivered to my old cabin. 🙂

True to Vernon's word he has been sending my CAS wines to my new cabin. Two screw top wines and a corkscrew.

The cruise compass URL on board has been acting up. Then I discovered day 3 had been added to the day 2 compass. On other ships each day was by itself. So I deleted the day 2 pages and the extra pages that were duplicate from day 1 and 2 PDFs to make a clean day 3 cruise compass. RD Day 3 cruisecompass.pdf

So far the approach of pre-purchase then cancel to use the BOGO onboard seems to work as reported by many. The risk would be one ship or a fleetwide policy change. The intent of the BOGO may be to fill the venues but on a space available basis. If so, they could implement policy to block this approach. There is no policy that says you can't but equally no policy that says you can. YMMV.
