  1. The trailhead after a 25 minute bus ride. Along our route there were these bags of gravel and field stone. The bags were placed by helicopters. Volunteers will distribute the gravel and stones to maintain the path to the top. Not long after we turn around to get our first view of the ship in the town. No smoke. Jewel is connected to shore power and has powered off the engines.
  2. Some pics from the sail in this morning. Not quite sure why this tower is here. It looks to be wood pallets. Tunnels and bridges connect different islands here.
  3. The loyalty ambassador stated it kicks in when the count of D and D+ is greater than a threshold figure. She didn't say what the magic number is. Assuming there will be consistent high numbers going forward it should still be available in the future.
  4. Eating lunch. In a few hours I'll post pics of the terrain.
  5. Day Eight - Alesund, Norway With our passing below the Arctic Circle the concept of sunset and sunrise has returned.
  6. HDMI inputs are available. OEM remotes have a source button on them. I haven't been to the spa. I am not aware of any Royal ship offering free espresso based drinks. Diamond and above members in the CAS have access to a machine in the lounge. On this sailing and the previous sailing there have been large enough numbers of Diamond and above so that one free specialty coffee drink from Latte-Tudes has been included.
  7. Day 8 cruise compass has been pushed up. JW May 30 day 8 cruisecompass.pdf
  8. Great news... if you're a duck. It's raining outside. Better at sea compared to in port. Considering what a beautiful sea day this has been, I'll take some rain.
  9. I am too familiar with Total Wine. Way too familiar. 🙂 Royal is not a retail outlet for any beverages. Neither is a typical hotel or bar in the US. No one should expect Total Wine retail prices in a hotel, bar or on a cruise ship. BTW - Costco in Florida has the best prices for wine, beer and liquor. Makes duty free on board a joke. Often Costco in FL makes Total Wine not the cheapest. Costco doesn't have the variety of Total Wine, but it's not terrible. When they have Scotch on sale, wow. I've paid some super low prices on nice Scotch at Costco. But I digress. The "sale" prices for a bottle of wine today that you could take back to your cabin and open that second is not something I've seen too often on a Royal ship. YMMV.
  10. For sure but was a lot easier with a plastic bag. I ripped my paper bag on cruise #1 🙂
  11. Watching the Starliner launch over Starlink. HDMI cable to my phone.
  12. I've cut out some ramblings and included just a few participants or else I'd be up there for an hour capturing video. Last victim, I mean participant in this video was @Hoopster95! Jewel Blue Nose Ceremony Final.mp4 Everyone wins a prize! (we all get a certificate) The Latitude and Longitude they used in the ceremony: Oops. Those coordinates looks a lot like our path on the first cruise of my B2B to Iceland. Wanna bet they had a crew ceremony?
