  1. Here is a picture of tonight. Late. It's late. But not after dark. Yet it's nightime. Somewhere. But not here? It's not morning yet, but it will be soon. Soon it will be night time dark, but after that, soon it will be daylight morning. Well okay it's already nightime, as dark as it gets, here but it's not dark. Not just yet, not here, yet somewhere else. Here, it's daylight. Even thought it's night.
  2. It’s basically karaoke night in the Centrum. Bypass.
  3. Centrum is empty. Schooner is empty. Magician in the theater. He is good, saw him last cruise I think, Apparently a lot of people got off today? But it’s a sea day. Hmmm.
  4. Calm seas despite the rain. Where are my fellow posters? I need a break!
  5. Minstrels Duo in the Centrum. IMG_6409.mov Short video as there are a lot of side conversations going on here.
  6. Last Twizy item. I recommend booking one well before your visit. They are popular for good reasons. I booked this one in February 2024 for a May 2024 visit to Geiranger. If I can ever come back to Geiranger by cruise ship I'll book a Twizy again. The two hour rental was 1790 NOK including VAT. In February this ended up on my US credit card as a $170 USD charge. We were able to go places a tour bus couldn't and we covered more ground. A very memorable excursion.
  7. I drive an EV so I lost my range anxiety a while ago. I drove the Twizy like I stole it. I kept my eye on the SoC but it had zero impact on our experience. I spent zero time thinking about trying to conserve the battery.
  8. We watched two cars go off and then the lady there plugged a car in right in front of us. Less than a minute she unplugged it and said here is your car! Ummm.... We were at 100% to start. She must have been just checking the charge when she plugged it in briefly.
  9. We must have had a better battery. We reached Eagle Lookout with about 25 - 30% but that was after the all uphill portion at full out. By the time we were back in Geiranger the regenerative downhill momentum and braking had the battery at 50%.
  10. Concur. We were a little rushed. What @Hoopster95 neglected to mention was that by pulling on my seatbelt it caused me to speed up. I did manage to squeal the tires on one hairpin turn!
  11. At 2:55pm we reached the Arctic Circle. I almost missed it on account of the mermaids that were trying to distract me. Of course Apple maps had us crossing it earlier but I trust Captain Michael more.
  12. Captain's noon address. We'll cross the line at 2:55pm. The imaginary line of the Arctic circle. He did mention it won't be visible in the ocean. I wonder if anyone thought... Apparently we will celebrate the crossing on the return trip Southbound.
  13. My numbers came from an announcement meant for crew during the B2B process before boarding had commenced. As such they were anticipated numbers. Amazingly there are numbers of people who don't show up. Missed flights, medical or family events, etc. 2,178 became 2,127. So it seems 51 no shows or early departures. Interesting. I'm always fascinated by these types of stats. That's probably 20 to 30 cabins. This is why RoyalUp exists, or at least in part.
  14. Sea day so I had some time to work on the departure time lapse leaving Geiranger. We saw the fjord on the way in so this is really to show where the bridge did the 360° turn and a surprise sunset at the end. Consequently I sped it up. I ended the time lapse just after midnight to give you an idea how bright it is this far North this time of year, three weeks before the summer solstice. Geiranger Fjord Departure TL.mp4
  15. As the driver I can firmly state it was great! Maybe I should defer to @Hoopster95 on this question. 🤣
  16. Day 4 cruise compass JW May 30 day 4 cruisecompass.pdf
  17. The Twizy was an amazing experience and we were very fortunate the weather cleared up as much as it did. This was booked directly with a local tour company. Here is some video from my 360 camera of the Twizy tour and subsequent walk along the river. Geiranger is beautiful with a lot to do and see. Geiranger Norway May 2024.mp4
  18. After lunch I wandered through town to get a shot of the ship from the road we drove the Twizy up. Speaking of a Twizy, some other Twizy-ers were coming back into town. The moving Sea Walk to the ship.
  19. I found a restaurant and had a local IPA. ...and some Fish and Chips.
  20. A local fisherman was very successful. Some ship pics at the water's edge.
