Double points for cruising single ?
twangster replied to volk904's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It's not (exactly) double points, rather an extra point for solo in a double occupancy cabin and another extra point for solo in a suite. Solo in a suite therefore becomes 3 points per night. -
Tracking Device for Child on Vision of the Seas?
twangster replied to LeslieMusician's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have an airtag in my backpack on board Navigator right now. My backpack is my cabin. We just were in Mazatlan yesterday, Puerto Vallarta today, but we've left and are now at sea. Let's pretend my backpack is child. I'm in the pub. Where's Waldo? OMG he just ran off. Let's see where Waldo is! OMG we left Waldo in Mazatlan yesterday!- 80 replies

Tracking Device for Child on Vision of the Seas?
twangster replied to LeslieMusician's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It leverages nearby iphones that have an internet connection. You are assuming enough other people have paid voom plans AND the geolocation of those devices is accurate which they won't be inside the ship. Instead they may report the last good GPS fix hours ago in the middle of the ocean. Airtags are not real time down to the second. When I check on the in my backpack the location is often old and not accurate down to the foot. If a child is a runner there is way too much bad that could occur long before you could track them AND catch them. -

I've never heard of a tracking device on a Royal ship other than you. -

This far out anything is possible, but if another Oasis class is in Europe for a routine dry dock I'm not sure they will sail a new ship over and have two in Europe. If Utopia is selling well and CocoCay revenue up it wouldn't make sense to mess with that. Time will tell. -

I don't think I've seen firm dates. Apparently there is a lot of clean up to get through. -
Nearly a decade ago. With Spectrum going back to China Qauntm may be staying out of Alaska. Spectrum leaves the pool of available ships. We may see Anthem do Alaska, or Anthem may do Australia. Time will tell. Any way you shake the snow globe it seems Q class is doing well and right sized for the Pacific markets. I don't see them pulling one back through the Suez anytime soon.

Don't forget Royal's new beach club in Nassau will be opening soon. There will be a new reason to get off soon, assuming we can afford it. Go early, in a year or two it will be so popular rates will go up. -

Adventure has Friday departures. S2S Adventure to Utopia. Or, gasp!, spend a night in a hotel in between Wonder and Utopia. -

That's the quintessential 3/4 rotation. The biggest and boldest weekend occurs over the weekend, Friday to Monday. -

They appear to marrying Utopia to Perfect Day. Expect marketing that combines the two into an overall experience. -

There is also the demographic of the young working professional who is moving on from the college frat party cruise days. With not a lot of time off being early in a career they are looking for a short weekend getaway but not a drink to you puke experience. Take a short cruise on another line then take a short cruise on Royal. Night and day difference. Where are they going to come back to when they start taking longer cruises? Royal. Part of the reasoning is capturing the young but up and coming cruiser early in their "cruising career". -

That's the old demographic of the short Florida market. Things have changed and Royal has adapted to serve the new demographic of the short Florida market. That transformation started with creating Perfect Day and placing amped Voyager class ships into the short Florida market. Then came Freedom class. Now Oasis class. Next? I would not be surprised to see a future Icon class ship doing short Florida.
