Not just that, my cruise consultant with SS advised me that is the way it is done. I trust that they do this all the time and know what they are doing.

Update on our situation. While I have reservations including record locators for all 3 carriers (AA, IB and DL) and assigned business class seats on all 5 legs, my Cruise Consultant at SS confirms actual ticketing does not take place until 60 days out.
Not worried as that appears to be normal MO.

First time using SS air and very satisfied. Still 200+ days to go for cruise on Spirit flying US to Lisbon and return from London business class. Already have flight details and have made seat reservations directly with the 3 carriers involved. So far smooth as silk.

Was on the Wind in April this year. I echo your comments. Ship was beautiful, food and service excellent. Glad you had a good cruise.

Thanks all. Appreciate the responses.

Booking Into the Midnight Sun. Would love recommendations DV vs PV. PV is +$1200 pp. Worth it? Thanks

Sailed on the Wind in April from Monaco to Rome through the French and Italian islands. We sailed on the Whisper last year. The Wind met all our needs, small ship, exceptional service, excellent food and drink. I would sail on the Wind again without hesitation. And no I'm not a cheerleader, rather a very satisfied SS customer.

My wife and I sailed on the Wind in April, from Monte Carlo to Rome. She is beautiful with understated elegance just like her sister ships. If reviewer you mentioned likes gaudy, then perhaps why they were disappointed. Nothing appeared "old" or "tired' to us. Didn't take specific notice of the TV as if was rarely on. We had a fantastic time with the wonderful staff and crew. Check out thread "Wind in top form" on page 3 of threads for reviews from June 2017. I would highly recommend and expect you will have a wonderful cruise. Bon Voyage!

You can book while on board to maximize savings direct from cruise line, then transfer that reservation to a TA who can offer several sweeteners as mentioned above.

IMHO the travel insurance that comes with credit card use is really inadequate coverage. In addition to trip interruption and cancellation you have to consider other unfortunate possibilities such as medical illness or accident while traveling, possible medical evacuation, repatriation and baggage related issues. Compare the SS coverage to other cruise insurance coverage available on line. SS benefits are generally lower value and higher cost. Insurance, of any kind, is the one cost that always seems high until you need it.

I appreciate the 10% discount being offered, but I'm very unhappy that although the 10% discount has been extended, the price of the cruise has risen by 10% as well. There doesn't seem to be any good reason to increase the price of a cruise that is over a year away, but it's a pricing game I'm not willing to play. I don't think I'm interested in booking with Silversea anymore.
Price increase means sailing is selling well. Basic supply and demand. Cruises, hotels, airlines all do it so not sure how this is SS fault. Sorry you won't be joining, but it is you that will miss out.

Just thought I would add to conversation. I'm booked on the Muse in 2019. Booked through TA who got all the discounts offered through SS and added $1000 OBC out of her end including $250 from consortium group they are part of (as mentioned previously). Paid in full by June 30 for 10% discount (no brainer for me as money in bank not earning anything). Also just checked back - 1.) 10% offer extended now until end of August but price has gone up $250 pp while mine is fixed 2.) Additionally says the following right on the specific voyage overview page
FEATURED EXCLUSIVE OFFERS / PROGRAMMES:
Early Booking Bonus: Save 10% if you book and pay in full by 31 August*
Fare Guarantee Program: When you plan ahead and book early, you will benefit from any future reduction in the voyage fare, upon request
So any future reductions are available to you, should any come along, key is you have to monitor and ask.

I too am lifetime Platinum at Marriott as well. It takes 1000 nights to earn that status.

I love deck 6 (stayed in 622) but agree that mid-ship location of 528 is preferable.

Actually, that only happens for the first few days until everyone gets their sea legs. After that, unless you look like you need help they leave you alone.
Recently off the Wind and in La Terraza for lunch they will try to carry your plate from beginning to end of cruise. And they do it with pleasure so don't resist.

We sailed on the Wind in late April, Monte Carlo to Rome. The ship is spectacular, upscale and, best of all, "classy". As someone above stated, if you like small ship experience the Wind will deliver in spades. Enjoy!

Thanks to all for the helpful information. Just booked LA to Miami with Panama Canal transit for June 2019. Did book Concierge D as per multiple recommendations. Most importantly updated my signature. :D

Thanks Cat, I appreciate the response. The reason I asked is there is a review on CC from a poster that sailed last month and literally referred to a "caste system" onboard, that strongly favored Concierge and up. I thought it was likely overstated but thought I would ask.
Thanks again.

Planning to book a cruise on the Explorer and would like comments on Concierge suite (D) as compared to Superior suite (F). As near as I can tell it comes down to the amenities as the suites themselves and location on ship are identical. While the pre-cruise hotel is nice it's not that big a deal. The big question is the priority shore excursions and dinner reservations. is that perk necessary? Do they really fill up?
Thanks in advance for your insights.

Just returned from 9 days on the Silver Wind with tender stops in Amalfi and Sorrento. Would highly recommend AP Tours Italy to put together a tour of the area. Did a great job for us. Must see Positano!

Am currently booked on Crystal Serenity to do a similar itinerary in June 2019. Thinking about cruising with Viking instead as it is their part of the globe. Awaiting 2019 schedule to become available. I have not sailed with either Crystal or Viking before so looking for some advise from those that have. Last 2 cruises were with Silversea all inclusive and were fabulous. All feedback appreciated.

Just got of Silver Wind last week. We traveled with 2 larger suitcases, 1 large garment bag for hanging clothes and 1 roll aboard. 3 fit under bed and 1 was placed under desk well out of the way. Sailed on Whisper last year with similar results. Have not sailed on Shadow as yet but understand it is like the others. Silversea cabins have large walk-in closets as well. Enjoy your trip.

When in Marseille, if ship has excursion to Provence, consider that. We toured to LeBaux and St. Remy. Beautiful countryside, Medieval village and charming French town.
Pre Cruise Hotel

I got a fantastic SS pre-night package in Lisbon hotel for $179 per person. Transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to ship and ship to LHR when we disembark in London for $89 per person. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Might save a bit on self booking hotel but doubt I could beat the transfers. Doesn't sound like I'm burning a few hundred $. To each his own.
