  1. Thank You for sharing your cruise with us all.

Elevator issue is scary we are on deck 13 and FIL can not do stairs. We have a 9 nt coming up in June.

I am looking forward to your current menus.

What are your plans in Bermuda and Puerto Rico?

Hi. You are welcome, my husband and I always appreciated feedback from others.

Our cruise is actually to Port Canaveral, CocoCay and Nassau, Bahamas. We are taking our teenage boys to Universal Studios in Orlando for the day. My husband and 14 yr old son will be scuba diving in both CocoCay and Nassau. We also have a Cabana rental for the day and Jet skiing tour reserved for CocoCay. My 17 yr old and I will be going on a "sea world explorer" tour in Nassau.

  2. Our day started with breakfast in Coastal Kitchen. The restaurant is very nice and it was quite relaxing. If you have access, it's definitely a place to try! The food was delicious and unfortunately we ate it all before remembering to take pictures lol. We did sneak in a picture of the menu before leaving though. be4bfbe00cfb3eeca26394cc36e61b2a.jpg

As for the elevator situation... we found it much easier to get an elevator this morning. As someone mentioned their own concern due to a handicap, I have rheumatoid arthritis and try to avoid the stairs if possible, due to a lot of pain. I will mention the elevator status as the week goes on for those interested in knowing.

We are currently waiting for a 10am meet and greet at the Music Hall with fellow cruise critic and Facebook people. After that, we have an 11am exclusive cocktail party for suite guests at Vintages. As for my kids, the 14 year old left breakfast and headed to the Seaplex. My 17 year old was still sleeping and I haven't heard from him lol. He was planning to hit the gym when he woke up.

I will post pictures of the compass and menus later on when we are back in our room.

  3. Dinner in the main dining room was good. We got filled up by appetizers and dinner, we didn't even make it to dessert. It also didn't help that we went to Windjammer an hour and a half before dinner lol. We didn't eat much but was hungry and wanted something before our 8:15 dinner. Turns out they have amazing ice cream! They had three choices: pistachio, chocolate and butter pecan. I didn't mind skipping dessert in the main dining room because the ice cream from Windjammer was that good!

  4. So we set sail and I was so busy unpacking that I didn't realize it. As my husband already showed, we stopped at our main dining room (Chic) after the muster drill to find our table. The Steward introduced herself to us and our kids already, very friendly and eager to please. We asked her to open the balcony between our two rooms and she said she will contact the supervisor or whoever it is she needs to get permission from.

My husband and 14 yr old son are signed up for the PADI scuba certification so we are at the Dive center for their first meet up.

So far the staff has all been nice and welcoming. The Windjammer was very crowded but the food was good. A bit hard to find a table but at least the food was decent. I plan on trying Two70 at some point. My 17 year old is already heading to gym.

The ship is really nice although I'm not sure if I love the deck plans. We are on the 10th floor and getting an elevator up is almost impossible, it is a long wait and they are all full by the time they reach the 10th floor. Quite honestly, the rooms are a lot smaller than previous cruises, I'm not sure if it's just this ship or quantum ships as a whole. We were on Indepenece of the Seas last year with the same room type and our room was definitely much bigger. Our kids have a regular balcony room which was pretty narrow in my opinion. We have a grand suite. My husband had them decorate our room for our Anniversary, they also decorated my kids room for a birthday (17 yr old is turning 18 at the end of the month). So far, I'm happy and excited. My 14 year and I signed up for the sushi making class for day 7 which should be a lot of fun.

    Okay... will check in later...76aadc6b7fcbe64fc2f70b05b1242094.jpg9a15a87717824d809697ef8edd407eb7.jpgd57895d7997bb952b1fd42b0bdccd523.jpgda88b6db114416e8d9bb3405143d8947.jpg1b90ae0c08fce1b897fa2a9742644cd0.jpg

  5. We arrived at the terminal at 9:10 and our bags were dropped off by 9:15. Checked in and waiting to be able to board. The boarding will be delayed due to a small stomach virus outbreak on the previous cruise. Boarding will not start until 11-11:30 and rooms will not be available until 1:30 instead of 1pm.

There are 4 of us on this cruise, two adults and two teenage boys. We have a grand suite balcony and a regular balcony room next to each other. I'm seriously hoping they sanitize this ship really good. We are super excited for our 8 night cruise and will be sharing some pictures and information along the way (when time allows). 99b54afe7ed7e54ed4673b8a6b4a88ce.jpg

  6. We went to Cozumel last year on Independence of the Seas. We used a can to get to Me. sanchos and loved it. We did the ATV riding and the Jet Ski riding, both were a lot of fun. The beach was very nice and they had different options for food, lots of other activities and plenty of beach beds and chairs. We recommend it and would go again.

  7. We went on Carnival a few years ago(2014) and they did not enforce a curfew. My oldest son was 15 at the time and he never went back to his room all night on the last night, I didn't realize until 5am and went on a massive search for him, thinking something awful happened. Found him at 5:30am in the teen lounge with other kids. I'm personally hoping Royal Caribbean does enforce the curfew if the kids are just out hanging out and not part of an activity. My kids are now 14 and almost 18 and I still don't want my oldest out all night long. I think 1 or 2am is late enough. We are sailing on Anthem this coming week, April 9th. We do believe they have late activities that start towards 10pm or midnight so as long as they are part of it and being safe and not bothering anyone, they will be out late.

  8. My husband and I went on the Independence last April (2016) for our honeymoon and did the Chef's Table. They hold it at a table in Chops restaurant. It was my first time doing CT, my husband did it on Allure and loved it. We were extremely disappointed. They changed the day on us and we were okay with that. Ended up with only two other couples, for a total of 6 of us. We were at a table in the Chops dining room while they were having dinner service so it was not private. The "chef" was actually a 'sous chef' and he only came out at the beginning to tell us that he didn't want to come out through each course and bother us, so he just gave us a quick run down of what we will be eating. Yep, you read that right. We all looked at each other and said "didn't we specifically pay for the Chef to be out with us and tell us about each course?". Anyway, the chef described what we would be served and most of couldn't remember what we were drinking or eating at certain times because the chef wasn't there and the staff only knew so much. We did enjoy our time and the food, it felt more like a long dinner date with friends. The chef came out towards the end to see what we thought. No pictures were taken, no privacy and pretty much no chef. It was just very poorly run. That was our personal experience.

  9. We are sailing April 9th on Anthem, have two rooms booked for us and the kids (grand suite and balcony room). They are next to each other, we couldn't get connecting room at the time we booked. My question is... can the balcony divider be opened so we can at least share one balcony?
