I pre bought birthday decorations for my Husbands 50th, the room attendant put them up. It was a fun surprise! It should be under buying gifts section.
This was 7 years ago that I did, hope they still have it for you.
They must of stopped this option as it doesn't seem to be available any longer, I will give them a call just to check. I will take my own if not.
-
Yes...my husband paid for birthday decorations for my 50th on celebrity....was nicely done
Thanks. How long ago was this? I found information stating they do birthday decorations but it must be old as when I click on the link it's not there.
-
No,I have never seen this as a option on their web site.
RC and Celebrity are different cruise lines owned by the same parent company . they are not the same .

Lol. well aware they are not the same cruise line i've been on both just merely saying this was what I was looking for.
-
Do celebrity not do room decorations? im sure I saw it as an option before? we had them once for my husbands birthday on RC and wanted to do it again on our next cruise with celebrity but can't find anything.
-
We are a party of 12 and just wondering if there's any chance we would all be seated together for dinner? the website states 10 max per table but just hoping there might be a change the maitred might seat us together.

Are you on the TA? I can't wait to read some reviews and see some pictures once shes home in Bayonne!
We are indeed. We booked an inside for the first time as last year we did a 2 week TA and there was no point in having a balcony in my opinion until we got to the Caribbean. I only considered it due to the virtual balcony. Few days on land then on the celebrity eclipse for some sunshine down in the Caribbean.

I TOTALLY agree that you should get what's advertised and they need to change it if it's not correct. But.... And I'm really asking, not flaming--what is the point of "written proof". If you get on the ship and it's changed to a chair because a sofa doesn't fit, what is the point of written proof-- are you going to insist that they bring you a sofa?
The only thing I can see is that you are going to expect a credit-- is this really all worth haggling on your vacation when you are fully EXPECTING the chair?
If I don't get what I've paid for then yes I would expect to be compensated, obviously I would expect them to bring me a sofa! I certainly won't be losing any of my time on board complaint I'm not that sort of person to waste my time. I would however make a complaint on my return.
I've spoken to RC this morning and am now waiting on them getting back to me.

What category/ship?
I imagine that whatever database the information is pulling from is the same for the website vs. what the agents are looking at. So 9/10 I would think their information for room info is the same as what we can see.
Since it looks like the website as been updated, perhaps your booking is still pulling from an outdated place. I think this happens a lot. Not a good thing but good to know it happens.
Sailing in 3 weeks on the Anthem. I'm going to give them a call again today and see what they say.
-
Just gone into my booking and it still states sofa as room description.
-
Maybe they updated it after complaints because this is not the case anymore. When I go on to price my May cruise, I have 3 options for interior
1. Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony (Cat. Q, M, N) - It lists "sitting area" but does not state sofa. Pic is accurate with picture of a chair next to virtual balcony.
2. Large Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony (Cat. K, L) - It specifies a sitting area with sofa. However I think the pic is in accurate. It shows the same pic as the smaller interior with the chair.
3. Interior Connected Stateroom with Virtual Balcony (Cat. IC) - Also lists sitting area with sofa. The picture does include the sofa in the picture and the cabin looks a bit larger. I think this pic also belongs in the large interior.
Note that on the deck plans, but cabin indicates a triangle which means sofa bed.
I bet they've had many complaints when they are miss selling cabins and I will be another that will complain.
When we booked we asked then regarding the sofa, we would of booked a different categorie otherwise, we've called and email twice in the last few months to confirm and have written proof. I'm expecting a chair but still we should get what's advertised.
Last week our sailing before being sold out still stated sofa, looks like they are now correcting this.
-
Anyone?
I think all the insides state sofa in the cabin description when clearly some have chairs. I've got the cheapest catagory Q inside and ours state sofa and when I spoke with RC they said it's def got a sofa, which I find hard to believe.
I'm sure I've seen a pic of a larger room with the sofa somewhere.

The view is to reflect where you are on the ship as if you had a balcony, so if your starboard side your view will be of the starboard side, if your aft that will be the view.
-
We've got a VB next month on out transatlantic crossing, last year we had a balcony and for the crossing part we never went outside so thought we'd save the money this trip and get an inside as there's pretty much nothing to see and the weather wont be great.
Looking forward to checking it out.

RC emergency planning department have said that we will be able to disembark and this was my main concern.
I know that last year it was a new pier and extremely disorganised but reports have been good lately with no holds ups, hopefully this will be the case when we arrive.
We've always self disembarked at Fort laurerdale and miami and have never encountered any delays, always been off the ship and on our with within about 45min. Maybe we have been lucky as we self disembark
-
We are Canadian, and we self disembarked with no issue. Easy!
Excellent thank you. Hopefully it shouldn't be any different after a transatlantic.
-
What time is your flight? It appears you are on the Anthem TA, which means that everyone on the ship is going to need transportation because no one will have a car parked at Cape Liberty.
I'd book Dial7 or Carmellimo and plan to self disembark. You arrive on a Wed morning, which means you have to contend with the morning rush hour.
Our flight is at 11.15am so we are going to be tight on time, as long as we can self disembark we should be ok. We're on a domestic flight so as long as we're there by 10.30 we'll make it?
-
We are sailing on a transatlantic next month and will be disembarking in Cape Liberty NY, does anyone know if international passengers can self disembark here? On a previous TA to San Juan we weren't allowed to do this but they might have different rules.
-
We need to get from Cape Liberty to LGA as quick as possible after our cruise, can anyone recommend a car service as I think this would be the best option?
-
Or leave it as is, and the first thing when you board, go to Cust Svc and have the pre paid removed. Then they will bill your sea pass on a daily basis and it will go against the OBC you have.
I don't think that would work for us as we're in the UK and using a UK agent and I can't see them doing that. Also I don't want to ask people for the extra money for the gratuities. My ta said at the moment there is no option to wait list.
-
We're looking to book on the eclipse in November 2016 but there is no early or late dining option only select, my ta thinks they may be doing it just to get people to pay the gratuities and set times will open up later on. We wanted to use our obc to pay the gratuities and there will be 12 of us so unsure what to do now.
We've never sailed celebrity before but we're also booked for nov this year and have early seating so we can use our obc for gratuities.
Any ideas?

Thanks everyone.
The 3rd person is an adult but needs to share with his parents as he's autistic, he wouldn't need to charge anything to the room so that won't be a problem, he could keep the 2 cards if he needs the original to use for drinks as we will have the package.
That's put our minds at ease and think we will now book.
-
We are going to be travelling as a family and will have 6 cabins, one member of our party is single and another group will be 3 to a cabin, we were thinking of putting the 3rd person in with the single family member to keep the cost down for the single person. Can we do this then we get on board have the 3rd person go back to sharing as a 3 in the cabin? If we have cabins next to each other with the same cabin attendant I can't see it being a problem.
Anyone done this?
-
We are booked in an inside cabin on the quantum (7125) think its m class, its the cheapest apart from a guaranteed, I've seen pictures on the internet with the bed facing you as you go into the cabin and the tv on the right and a chair, as my cabin is the cheapest is this my category of cabin? Little worried about the tv as it doesn't face the bed and just one chair not a sofa. Im thinking maybe I need to change to a bigger cabin.
Anyone with any experience in these cabins or pics?
Thanks
Why cruises are better than land vacations

Cruising is a different experience to the other holidays we take, a cruise is a one stop shop where everything is at your disposal and more relaxing than hectic other holidays we take as we don't like to stay in one place.
