The only reliable way to be one of the first to board is to go concierge. After that, as mentioned before, booking DCL transportation to the port would be next best.

If it's all about the 9 year old, then Wish is fine. The kids areas and the entertainment is certainly geared towards the kids. The adults won't be as impressed, in my opinion, as they would on the other Disney ships. Dining is certainly unique in the theming, but the layout is less than ideal where you feel like you're sitting on top of other tables, the servers have a difficult time getting around everyone and some of the seating has obstructed views of the dinner shows. Adult entertainment isn't as robust as it is on the other ships and the things that are offered are in venues that aren't built to handle the crowds that show up. Adult pool area is suboptimal. Personally, I like to hang out in a pool with no kids, with an adult beverage and read a book in more than 18" of water. That option doesn't exist on Wish. I've been on 31 Disney cruises, all 5 ships multiple times including the Wish, twice.

I'm curious why you felt the need to post this. As you mentioned the review is accurate and the reviewer is merely doing their job (no quotes needed). You can have your opinion and just say well my opinion is X without trying to discredit or minimize the validity of this person's review. You make it sound like anyone who listens to this review to decide whether or not to sail on Wish are dumb.

Not that I've seen, been on 31 DCL cruises and all I've seen are fairly standard cruise ship excursions.

They haven't released any information associated with those cruises yet that I've seen but typically ABD are multi-day experiences that wouldn't lend themselves to being cruise excursions. I would expect them to be similar to other cruise lines offerings.

We've been cruising DCL without kids for quite a while now, we've never had our request for a separate table denied. We do main seating which is the busier of the two. Since you'll be on for 5 nights, you'll go to each dining room at least once as long as you don't do the alternative dining the 3rd night. Our preference is to do it on Pirate night since that is our least favorite menu. Palo and Remy are the only dining experiences with a stricter dress code, as mentioned above you'll see everything else in the MDRs.

Who knows what the crew is expecting. We certainly do leave extra based on the service we've received. On our last Fantasy cruise we doubled the tips for the Server, Assistant Server and Stateroom Host (I had also tipped the Stateroom Host $20 at the beginning of the week when I made special requests for ice and some other things) and just a little more for the Head Server, since the interaction with the Head Server is much less than the rest. I have had occasion where the service was just okay where I didn't leave extra as well. It all depends, which is the whole point of tipping in my opinion.

The ships are worse. Even when it was reduced capacity they wouldn't open up venues until 15 minutes before an event. We nicknamed the hallway outside The Tube Covid Corridor because there were 100 people jammed into it waiting to get in. Then when we did they had every other table marked off so they couldn't accommodate all of the people that were jammed together in the hallway. Totally asinine.

COVID-19 Vaccination For sailings departing US and Canadian ports through September 1, 2022, Disney Cruise Line requires Guests ages 5 and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Beginning September 2, 2022, for sailings departing US and Canadian ports, Disney Cruise Line will require Guests ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the CDC. In consideration of CDC guidance, Disney Cruise Line highly recommends that Guests ages 11 and younger be fully vaccinated before sailing. In consideration of guidance from the CDC and the World Health Organization, Disney Cruise Line accepts the following vaccine types for Guests ages 5 and older: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Novavax, Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (VeroCell), Sinovac-CoronaVac and Covavaxin (Bharat Biotech). For Guests ages 5 and older, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines fully vaccinated as 14 days after receiving one of the following: A single dose of an accepted 1-dose vaccine. The second dose of an accepted 2-dose vaccine. The full series of an active (not placebo) COVID-19 vaccine in the US-based AstraZeneca or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine trials. The second dose of any “mix and match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines (administered at least 17 days apart). Disney Cruise Line accepts Pfizer and Moderna for Guests ages 4 and younger; Sinopharm (BBIBP-CorV, VeroCell) for Guests ages 3 through 4; and Sinovac (CoronaVac) for Guests ages 6 months to 3 years old. Completing pre-trip testing prior to embarkation day enhances the efficiency of boarding and confirms that you are negative for COVID-19 prior to traveling to the terminal. Pre-trip test results must be uploaded into the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day. Antigen tests must be completed using a proctored in-person or telehealth service and come with digital results that can be uploaded to the Safe Passage website. A nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) or PCR test also is acceptable. Guests can purchase COVID-19 tests through the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website, or obtain a test from any independent online testing supplier or pharmacy. Fully vaccinated Guests who upload their pre-trip test results to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day will be exempt from embarkation testing. Fully vaccinated Guests who do not upload test results by midnight prior to embarkation day must be tested at the terminal on embarkation day before boarding the ship and will be charged for the cost of the test. Guests with positive COVID-19 test results are required to complete a second confirmatory test. Guests with confirmed positive test results—as well as those sharing the same stateroom and other close contacts—will be denied boarding. The cost of embarkation tests for fully vaccinated Guests will be $74.00 (USD) plus tax for the initial antigen test, and, if needed, $125.00 (USD) plus tax for a confirmatory PCR test, charged at the time of service. For Canada sailings, the cost of embarkation tests for fully vaccinated Guests will be $95.00 (CAD) plus GST for the initial antigen test, and, if needed, $160.00 (CAD) plus GST for a confirmatory PCR test, charged at the time of service. COVID-19 Testing For Guests Not Fully Vaccinated Guests who are not fully vaccinated must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken one to 3 days before the sail date. The test should be a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT), a rapid PCR test or a lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. This will be the first of 2 tests required for Guests not fully vaccinated; the second test will be conducted at the terminal on embarkation day. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are required to complete a COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to boarding on embarkation day (paid for by Disney Cruise Line). Guests with positive COVID-19 test results are required to undergo a second confirmatory test. Guests with confirmed positive test results—as well as those sharing the same stateroom and other close contacts—will be denied boarding. Upload Proof of Vaccination and/or COVID-19 Test Results In order to sail, all Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) must upload their proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results on the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day. A parent or legal guardian will need to use their own account to provide this information on behalf of minors. I believe one of those menus would be the Pirate night menu so you'll only get the regular Marvel menu once. 1923 was the most comfortable of the 3 restaurants in my opinion, the tables weren't on top of one another and the server stations weren't out in the open like in the others. The menu doesn't generally matter much to me as I don't think the DCL food is all that special. It's fine for what it is but that's about it.

The chicken schnitzel was horrible. The Turbo and Rib Eye were both really good.

If the adult areas on deck you're referring to are concierge then that's possible. Non-concierge, the adult pool is 2 feet of water that fits about 15 - 20 people. Great view off the back of the ship but not a very good pool. The rest of the Quiet Cove area has lots of loungers lined up down each side of the ship with no shade. The adult bars inside are spread out and too small for the events they host.

In anticipation of fixing all the design flaws on the Wish, they could name the next one the Disney Do Over
