Caribill, thank you for your input too, in regard to the Champagne fountain. You mentioned it seemed to go along with the Captain's welcoming everyone aboard the ship, which gives me an idea to LOOK for when this is going to happen. Do you remember if it was early evening around 6:00PM or later?  Just curious, as I don't want to miss it after doing it 23 years ago.

Don't know about the Regal (but it should be listed on the Patter for that day), but on other ships this year the event has been between 6:30 and 7:30 PM on the first formal evening. Usually the Captain speaks mid-way through that hour.

Question about the fountain. I was thinking it had already happened, but you had said it was crowded, so maybe you didn't see. I was wondering how a person ( if they wanted to) would be able to pour some champagne in the fountain, as I had seen a picture where a lady was doing that?

Yeah they had some people going up and doing it. I’m not sure if there was a line for that or what. Each pour is very brief. A couple seconds just for a photo op. I don’t think it’s actually champagne because at the end they dumped it all in a bucket.

Right, anybody can get in a (usually) short line to pour a little into the fountain. Ship photographers take a photo of each person in hopes of selling photos.

Not real Champaign, but inexpensive sparkling wine. Waitstaff walk around with free glasses of sparkling wine.

Part of the event is a welcome aboard speech by the Captain along with the introduction of the top ship officers from Staff Captain to CD to Medical Doctor to Head Chef and more.

One downside to covering up the sensor on the closet light. If you are using that light it will turn off every couple minutes and you have to keep turning it back on.

Seems to work differently on different Princess ships:

    a) Island Princess - - When turned on by sensor, turns in 30 seconds. When turned on by switch, stays on until switch is used to turn it off.

    b) Caribbean Princess -- Cannot turn on/off with a switch. When turned on by sensor, turns in 30 seconds.

    c) Regal Princess: Whether turned on with switch or sensor, turns off automatically.

Not a big fan of the breakfast menu. I would like to see a waffle, French toast, a breakfast sandwich of some type. I don’t feel like I’m asking for anything crazy. Those are pretty standard items.

Ask. Often at least the French toast is available even if not on that day's menu.

A breakfast sandwich is available at the International Cafe.

Waffles and pancakes are available at the breakfast buffet.

Greg - I was just looking at the app getting ready for next week.  I noticed that there is a button that can hide your location.  I may need to use that on my cruise.🤣

Staff can locate you no matter what you select with that button.

Passengers not in your booking cannot locate you without your permission, so using that button is not necessary.

Those in your booking can locate you unless you use that button.

Thanks! I guess the key point there is you have to know to call the Dine Line. How does someone even know to do that, let alone know these “special” dinners are even available, if they didn’t learn it first on some social media site?

Back when there was a four page Patter, these were announced with contact information on day 1.

Looks like it will be a pretty day at Princess Cays in the low 80s.

So far it doesn’t look like the “younger crowd” is putting too much of a strain on the internet.

I guess they weren’t able to fix the “technical” issue regarding the theater’s mechanical issues.

Or Bravo was he only one scheduled for this 5-day cruise.

Since Bravo requires a guest soprano, that was already pre-scheduled.

The question is whether the comedian for two nights in a row has one of those nights as a substitute for a 2nd production show.

First, the In Transit guests that just wanted to stay on the ship today were supposed to meet in the theater and then be escorted off the ship, wait in the terminal until the ship was cleared, then come back onboard. As it turned out, Customs allowed us to stay on the ship, and we were allowed to go on our merry way without going through any type of security check. That was a first for us as that has never happened before.

That is because we went through immigration and customs in Portland, Maine (even without customs questions). Those of us leaving the ship for good just walked through the immigration/customs area without stopping.

Am I missing something, or are we only having one (1) Production Show…Bravo?

There were supposed to be three (the cast knows four).

I was told that the "technical problem" was that a member of the technical production team had to fly home and that a replacement was not available for this cruise. Without that person's knowledge, the shows could not be performed safely.

I think that the CD should have been more forthcoming in letting passengers know there would not be more than the one production show performed.

One thing we like about cruising on Princess ships is they have a router out on the balcony. As far as quality, we’ve had no issues with download speeds in our cabin this whole trip.

These devices, one for every two balcony cabins, were installed to support the Medallion which uses the Intranet which is the gateway to the Internet.

No need to be on the balcony to get the best Internet speeds since if is good on the balcony, it will be good inside the cabin.

Just curious, but why would I want to pay $9 for 4 very small glasses of different wines if I have a drink package? If nothing else, I’ll have to go by there tomorrow afternoon on one of my ”scavenger hunts” just to find out the details. 😁

Usually people do not go for a couple of sips of four wines.

They go for the story behind those wines and the presentation is aimed at wine novices.

They used to give out a free shot glass when the dessert wine was poured, but they discontinued that before the pandemic to save $$$..

  12. One thing new, at least to us.

Instead of elites filling out a card to select canapés for formal evenings, you have to now call room service to request the only choice which is pralines (which are really 2 chocolate candies and 2 white chocolate candies).

The only way to know to do this is a single line on a sheet with a list of elite information which covers topics from the nightly elite/platinum/suite lounge to the wine tasting event. No ordering card in the cabin.

OK, this only seems to work if you are booking a non-accessible stateroom.   I am trying to book an accessible stateroom and there is no option about Princess or me choosing the room.   I believe the deposit is probably refundable because when I selected a stateroom that was non-accessible, I did get the screen saying the deposit was refundable.

I guess I'd better go through my TA so they can confirm about the deposit.

    Thank you for the screenshot.

Refund policy would be the same for accessible staterooms as for non-accessible ones on the same sales promotion..
