  1. The Australian website does not show it in the table on the 'Scenic Club Loyalty' page and in the Scenic Club FAQs it specifically states 'We will not be offering any further general Onboard Credits for Ocean and River Cruises from the 1st January 2024'.  I was hoping to use it for laundry 😞

It's too early for the ties Jazz.   We sail December 18th and there are no ties.  Hang in there.  First tie may be January 30th.   As a guess! 😁

We sail 8 Nov 2023 on the Muse and our bow ties have just shown up - 3 formal nights on a 14 day cruise.

Ron, must be something squirrely with the CC website. None of today's pictures are showing up for me. Have tried two different browsers and also my phone but only the filenames show up in your posts. Hope the pix show up soon!

    I have the same problem.

I had to add the street address but the postcode completed the rest of the fields, including immigration office.

Thank you for that - I'll give it a go next week.

Update: I tried once again this lunchtime to log onto the Indonesian Immigration website (https://molina.imigrasi.go.id) (no response from 'customer service' email Helpdesk) and this time it processed without the error. So I have my 30 day eVisa downloaded and printed off. Thanks for all your advice. TJ

Hi Mitchety,  what address did you use for the 'Address in Indonesia'?

  6. My great, great granduncle, Patrick Mulcahy was a member of the 1884 Harry Stockdale expedition to the Kimberley region to 'discover and report on the best methods of stocking the country and opening it up to civilisation'.

Stockdale's journal detailed that Patrick and George Ashton were adamant that they did not want to continue and asked if they could have some rations and camp for a while and if Stockdale would send help.

Patrick never returned from the Kimberley expedition and was presumed to have died after the other expedition members left him there.

When you book and pay through an Australian agent or on the cruiselines .com.au website, the gratuities are added to the cost of the cruise. This is to satisfy our consumer laws that "what you see advertised is what you get"

That is not true of all cruiselines. Our Cunard trip in Jan 2023 (a round trip Sydney to Tasmania) did not include gratuities - they were charged to our shipboard account and had to be paid before disembarking.

Out of curiosity what operating system are those having problems downloading.

I'm using Windows 10, could it be and apple compatibility problem?

When I attempted to bid on a 20 April cruise, the webpage said I had to wait until 21 day out.

When I tried (even within the 21 day period), I kept getting the same message. I emailed via the address supplied and was sent an email containing the move up application. The minimum bids were too high for me to even contemplate bidding. ($2,050 pp from Concierge sunset cabin to Sky Suite for 11 days).

I would do a move up , all suites will give you a much larger cabin, all meals in suite restaurant Luminae (it is closed for lunch only when in port) great suite lounge with free drinks all day . Upper suites royal and above get free specialty restaurants a liquor setup with two liters of your choice plus more.

Thanks for that - we haven't had an aft cabin before and wanted to try it, but a suite sounds very tempting to bid on if I get the chance to do so.

7 PM is the standard opening time for the evening dining venues.  As far I can remember there is no difference between at sea or in port.  Once or twice they extended the hours….for us mostly in Egyptian ports….to accommodate late returning tours.   I can’t remember vegetarian options in Silver Note but I wasn’t looking for them.   I have never counted but there are only roughly a dozen tables in Silver Note as it really is one of the smallest venues on the ship.  There are maybe five or six tables of various sizes along the wall and the rest are spread across the floor.  If sitting in one location or the other then I’d suggest getting in touch with the maitre d’ once you board the ship.  I don’t know if any reasonable way to request a specific location ahead of boarding.

Thank you for a very comprehensive and informative answer - it is a great help.

  12. We will be on our first SS cruise in Nov 2023 (on the Muse, Singapore to Cairns) but we are usually early diners (actually, probably very early diners). What are the restaurant opening hours? I've tried searching but not finding anything - I realise they may vary depending on 'at sea' vs 'in port' but I'm just after some general guidance. Also, does Silver Note have a variety of vegetarian choices (as I have seen on the sample menu for Atlantide)?

Another question - can you request a table location in Silver Note?

I look with envy at some of the cheap deals Aussies get for their cruises, which aren't extended to Kiwis, even for same ship, same dates, same itinerary and taking into account currency exchange difference 🤔🥴

I feel the same when looking at what US cruisers get - OBC from their TAs, ability to adjust/rebook if a lower price is advertised, more lenient cancellation policies etc

  14. Hi Pixie-anne, we are sailing from Singapore to Cairns on Silver Muse Nov 2023 and asked SS if we need Visa's and received this reply "No visas will be required for Australian passport holders or this voyage"
