  1. The Australian website does not show it in the table on the 'Scenic Club Loyalty' page and in the Scenic Club FAQs it specifically states 'We will not be offering any further general Onboard Credits for Ocean and River Cruises from the 1st January 2024'. I was hoping to use it for laundry 😞
  2. We sail 8 Nov 2023 on the Muse and our bow ties have just shown up - 3 formal nights on a 14 day cruise.

    Bali Visa

Note that some cruises may deny you boarding at the start of your cruise if you do not have the visa in advance.
  4. Thank you for that - I'll give it a go next week.
  5. Hi Mitchety, what address did you use for the 'Address in Indonesia'?
  6. My great, great granduncle, Patrick Mulcahy was a member of the 1884 Harry Stockdale expedition to the Kimberley region to 'discover and report on the best methods of stocking the country and opening it up to civilisation'. Stockdale's journal detailed that Patrick and George Ashton were adamant that they did not want to continue and asked if they could have some rations and camp for a while and if Stockdale would send help. Patrick never returned from the Kimberley expedition and was presumed to have died after the other expedition members left him there.
  7. That is not true of all cruiselines. Our Cunard trip in Jan 2023 (a round trip Sydney to Tasmania) did not include gratuities - they were charged to our shipboard account and had to be paid before disembarking.
  8. I cannot find the Laundry Bag pre-cruise option under 'Gifts & Gear' on the Australian site.
  9. I'm using Windows 10 and see this: If I do click on the attachment, this is the message I get from CC: Oops! This attachment is not available. It may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it to this location.
  10. When I tried (even within the 21 day period), I kept getting the same message. I emailed via the address supplied and was sent an email containing the move up application. The minimum bids were too high for me to even contemplate bidding. ($2,050 pp from Concierge sunset cabin to Sky Suite for 11 days).
  11. Thanks for that - we haven't had an aft cabin before and wanted to try it, but a suite sounds very tempting to bid on if I get the chance to do so.
  12. We have booked a Concierge cabin on the aft - if we get a chance, should we bid for a suite or should we stay put?
  13. I also like to use the shower rooms in the morning and can't recall if they were ever closed.
  14. Thank you for a very comprehensive and informative answer - it is a great help.
  15. We will be on our first SS cruise in Nov 2023 (on the Muse, Singapore to Cairns) but we are usually early diners (actually, probably very early diners). What are the restaurant opening hours? I've tried searching but not finding anything - I realise they may vary depending on 'at sea' vs 'in port' but I'm just after some general guidance. Also, does Silver Note have a variety of vegetarian choices (as I have seen on the sample menu for Atlantide)? Another question - can you request a table location in Silver Note?
  16. Good to know as not all lines do this (eg Celebrity).
  17. I feel the same when looking at what US cruisers get - OBC from their TAs, ability to adjust/rebook if a lower price is advertised, more lenient cancellation policies etc
  18. Won't be painting potatoes here - evidently we have a shortage of them here in Australia (although I've heard that it is only frozen products)
  19. Hi Pixie-anne, we are sailing from Singapore to Cairns on Silver Muse Nov 2023 and asked SS if we need Visa's and received this reply "No visas will be required for Australian passport holders or this voyage"
  20. The site states that Tier 1 is 'No - low impact to vessel'. Are all incoming ships listed on this site ? Or only those with more than zero cases?
  21. Received an email from Cunard early this morning regarding the QE departure from Sydney tomorrow ( Friday 20 Jan 2023). This is part of the email regarding masks: In response to the number of Covid-19 cases, recently spreading throughout Australia caused by new subvariants, we have updated our protocols and request you follow these precautions to stay healthy during your voyage: Guests are required to wear face masks on board while indoors, except while eating or drinking or in their own staterooms We also recommend guests wear face masks outdoors where larger numbers of people are congregating and physical distancing cannot be maintained. Masks are also required during embarkation, disembarkation, when on Company transportation such as water shuttles and motorcoaches, and while indoors during Company shore excursions. We recommend you follow these onboard masking protocols while ashore independently, particularly when indoors, on public transportation or in crowded areas. Your mask must cover your nose and mouth and be of good quality (Health experts recommend the use of higher-grade masks such as KN95 or surgical.) cheers
