  1. I think there is also one by/in the Fuel teen club. At least that is what it looks like according to the cruise critic photos. I will know for sure a month from yesterday :)

Below is a link to the pics I am talking about.

I can confirm that there is one in the Fuel Teen Club, saw it when we did the Escape Puzzle Room.

  2. I just got off of Freedom last week and also have Verizon. I have a Galaxy S5 and was able to text for free with Voom. I kind of stumbled onto this. I had my phone on airplane mode as usual. I also turned my data off seperately just in case. I continued to get text messages. Apparently if you use VERIZONS text messaging NOT Samsungs, it will work on wifi for free. I just called to verify any charges from last week and there are none. I probable sent and received 100 messages while onboard.

That is correct, on my Galaxy S6 it's call Message+

Yes, in order to use your phone's wifi calling it must be wifi calling capable. Otherwise you can use skype etc for wifi calling. I actually used wifi calling in Facebook Messenger.

If you opt not to use Voom, you just need to sign up for Verizon's Free international calling add on and then texts are 50 cents for sent and 5 for received.

  3. Has anyone eaten dinner in here? Now that they're doing away with the dynamic dining, does that mean the menu in here will be the same as the MDR? Even though it was meant to be a semi healthier alternative? Thanks!

It's a unique dining venue, very small, quiet. The appetizers and desserts are buffet style and you order your main course from a menu. There are sample menus in the cruise planner.

  4.

Also, NCL will let you bring soda on the ship and bottles of water. And if you drink wine you are allowed to bring wine on and pay a $15.00 fee per bottle. If you buy a relatively inexpensive bottle you can save that way....I have brought as many as 8 bottles on and have only been charged for four bottles.....so that was a nice unexpected gift:)

I'm never charged for all the bottles....although if you get Super Security Guard you could be charged for all of them......

NCL no longer allows you to bring soda and water on the ship as of July 15, 2016. They do still allow wine with a $15 per bottle fee. https://www.ncl.com/faq/liquor-beverage-policy

  5. A big reason for no cash back is that most cruise lines prohibit agencies from rebating in any form of cash (gift cards etc) and do allow OBC & gifts. They want to make sure that the money travel agents give back to the clients goes back to the cruise line in some form

  6. Most of the doc space is taken up by ships out of the Northeast which stay multiple nights not leaving much for other cruise lines. There are 4 ships-Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Breakaway, Anthem of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas that all make regular weekly stops there.

  7. Definitely yes to the case of water. Just did it earlier this month. I use the luggage tag and clear packing tape to make a handle, extra tape around the sides to make it more secure. Hand it to the porter with a generous tip and away it goes to show up in my stateroom later.

In November there were people doing check ins on the sidewalk between the garage and the terminal, in front of the terminal and inside the terminal. Earlier this month, they were all inside the terminal, as it was very cold outside. They did give us the option of going through security first and checking in after that.

  8. In regards to Verizon, you can use http://www.verizonwireless.com/tripplanner site to determine costs for your particular trip/cruise.

Cellular at Sea is the carrier that is used on just about all cruise ships, you will be billed by Verizon for services you use through them.

Without Preferred Bundle pricing costs are:

    Calls: $1.79 per minute

Texts: .50 per text sent, .05 per text received

Data: $2.05 per MB, (for those used to having GBs on their Verizon plans, each GB is 1000 MB, so for 1GB of data on a cruise ship it will cost $2050)

    Preferred Bundles:

$25 for 100MB of data with calls an text as above

$40 for 100MB of data, 100 minutes of calls, 100 sent texts and unlimited received texts.

On the preferred bundle, overage for data is $2.05 per mb, calls- .25 per minutes and sent texts - .25 per text.

All this will be at 2G speeds! On most phones that is indicated by a 1X icon and not the 3G or 4GLte icons.

Disney offers 1GB of wifi data at $89 last i heard.

  9. We are a family group arriving on June 2 for the June 4 sailing of The Gem. A few months ago, I read that staying in Secaucus was a good idea. The hotel offered free parking and we could catch the nearby bus to Port Authority. Is this still a good option for us? Is there any place a little further out that still has good access to public transportation to PO? I am trying to avoid NJ congested traffic as much as possible. Is Secaucus easy to get to from Rte 3? Or is there a better suggestion? Thanks for all your help.

There are a couple of hotels in Lyndhurst that are right by a bus stop that heads to Port Authority. The Quality Inn, Courtyard and Renaissance are all in one area. Still right off route 3, and the traffic should be minimal on a Saturday. There a Medieval Times right there too.

  10. Hello!

We sailed aboard the Pride in May 2014 and we're thinking about possibly planning another cruise in either 2017 or 2018. In 2014 we were a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) since then we've added a new baby to the family. :) I was looking online to get some price quotes but I'm unable to search for 5 people. Does the Pride not offer staterooms that accommodate 5? Will we need to get connecting rooms? If that's the case what category offers connecting rooms? We do not want an interior room, so looking at oceanview or balcony rooms.

    Thanks!

I do not believe that any cabins on the Pride sleep more than 4. There are few connecting cabins,. most are Balcony to Balcony on decks 5,6 & 7, but they do have a few Balcony to Inside connecting cabins on decks 5 and 6.
