  1. great - thanks for sharing that photo... looks like there is more than enough hangers for my wifes clothes! are there any draws for your 'smalls' or are they part of the closet next to it?
  2. Thanks for that.... almost identical layout to the stateroom we had on our celebrity cruise in 2018
  3. Forgive me if this has already been posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it when searching for stateroom info Does anyone know the exact layout of stateroom E432 on Majestic Princess? e.g. when lying in bed are your feet facing forward? is the bed near the balcony? the photos / illustrations on their website are just a guide and not exact I'm just curious that's all
  4. ok thanks for that.. on Celebrity we had a card we wore on a lanyard and we used that for everything from getting into our room, getting a drink or buying something at the shops onboard If I tell my wife the closets are huge that will give her an excuse to bring more clothes!! can you store your suitcases in the closet or under the bed?
  5. ok thanks for that but what is your medallion?? - is that your ship pass / card you wear on your lanyard? also not heard of dryer sheets before... they must be a Nth American / Canadian thing? but if as redtop101 says there's a retractable line in the shower then that will probably be fine for us, but it's good to know how the laundry works just in case we do need to use it
  6. really? - that's great! means one less thing to pack
  7. ok thanks for that.... I guess we could set a string line or something up in the bathroom to wash and dry some smalls?
  8. I think with all the new covid variants going around you will still need to test... as you might have had covid and recovered, but you might get it again - albeit a new variant
  9. ok another quick question - I see Princess have guest laundries on nearly every floor - this is something that Celebrity don't have How does it work? - do you just insert US$ into the machine and do your laundry? do you have to wait for an hour until it's finished or something? - I'm just curious that's all on our last cruise we would occasionally wash out socks / knickers / bras in the bathroom sink in the stateroom and I had some plastic clips that could loop around the chairs on the balcony and would hang then to dry.... and as the cruise was in the summer they dried relatively quickly. is this something we could do on Princess, or do they frown upon things like this?
  10. you won't really have much time to do a lot in Waiheke in that short time I'd recommend taking the ferry over to Devonport - it's only a 15-20 minute ferry ride it's a lovely place with a 'village' feel to it - this website should help you https://devonport.co.nz/
  11. Does anyone know if the Brisbane cruise terminal has moved? We did a cruise in 2018 and the cruise (Celebrity Solstice) docked near where the imported card get unloaded - and it was miles away from anywhere from memory We are on another cruise in Feb 2023 (Majestic Princess) that also docks in Brisbane, but looking at Google Maps it looks like the cruise terminal is right by the Airport - is this correct? We just want to know because we're interested in going to the DFO shopping center that's near the Airport any help would be appreciated
  12. thanks - I'm not fussed on the type of bacon... just as long as it is cooked well 😃
  13. while researching for our first cruise in 2018 on cruise critic, someone said they went on a 7 day cruise with their sister and between them they had 37 pairs of shoes! I think I took 3-4 pairs for our 13 night cruise in 2018
  14. nothing wrong with 16 strips of bacon... unless it comes with 16 fried eggs, 16 hash browns.... LOL!
  15. by the time I've figured out what to buttons to press on the app in order to get a drink - it would probably be quicker for me to actually go to the bar and order it!
  16. ok thanks - I'll look more into it.... I remember on Celebrity we just got a welcome aboard card in our room on embarkation day that said our dining time was 8:30pm.... as we were totally newbies to cruising I don't think we'd requested a specific dining time
  17. I'll download the Princess app.... I assume there is just 1 app for Princess cruises? (don't want to download the wrong one if there's more than one) also if I download it on my phone and wife does on her phone will they 'sync' with each other? (we both have iPhones)
  18. ok thanks for that... so it's probably fine to have dinner at say 7:30pm and make the 10pm show? we won't be making any reservations until closer to the time, but we'd probably like the same table / waiters each night
  19. thanks for the replies... we still have adaptors (USA to NZ and Euro to NZ) from our cruise 2 years ago so that's all good we can use them if there are power and or USB outlets by the bed that will be very handy as on Celebrity they were by the desk from memory. one more question - what time are the shows in the theatre? just want to know so we can book / reserve a dining time that will fit in with the shows
  20. Thanks- we’ve booked an ‘obstructed balcony’ stateroom on deck 8 emerald deck. According to the confirmation that came through yesterday afternoon it’s an ‘angled’ balcony? I’ll google the room later as someone may have put a review of it on this site as for the drinks ill I’ll have to check that because I was under the assumption the package covered coffees like cappuccino/ flat white...etc if I downloaded the app on my phone and my whisper does the same on her phone (both iPhones) will they ‘sync’ with each other?
  21. Thanks for the replies - very helpful! I’ll download the app closer to the time looks like they don’t have set dining times but something called ‘dine my way’? We’ve got so much to learn about the ship and facilities before we go, but really looking forward to it I’m going to look for video clips of the ship on YouTube so I can get familiar with the layout
  22. Ok, so we’ve booked our cruise on Majestic for Feb 2023 Being a Princess newbie we’re going to have many questions before the cruise, so the first main question is – what restaurants / food / eating places are included in the cruise fare? I’ve looked at Princess website:- https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/whats-included/ but this doesn’t actually list all the food places that are included - it looks like there are 2 main dining rooms? If someone can tell me what places are included in the cruise fare that would be much appreciated Also what power / electrical outlets do they have in your stateroom? From memory on celebrity there were 2 x USA and 1 x European power outlets Just need to know in case we need to buy any adaptors to plug in our USB chargers thanks in advance 😃
