  1. Has anyone else experienced VIFP rewards issues recently? My husband and I turned Gold on this cruise. We were told to go to Pixels to pick up our pins, they were out of them, then when I went to redeem my free drink after 5 on the last day, I was told my account didn't have it on there. Tried to go to guest services, but it was the last evening and the long was too long to deal with it. I have heard that others had the same thing happen, especially when moving up a level.

  2. St Kitts was dropped, and St. Thomas was added, I loved St Thomas when we went 3 years ago but we went to St. Johns and were pressed for time. What is something fun to do for 2 families totaling 8 people with 4 teenagers along. Carnival isn't showing but 5 excursions so it's looking like we may be on our own. I have never booked or gone with a private vendor before. Any advice would be appreciated.

  3. My first trip to Grand Turk was last September, the vendors turned me off completely, they were yelling at each other, scamming guests and made our day miserable. We left to go to Margaritaville to use the pool, but there was no shade there and it was so hot. The drinks were overpriced and had no flavor at all. Next time I am going to book an excursion and hope for a better time. I really want to experience the beauty of Grand Turk.

  4. I was not impressed with Margaritaville at all. It's very expensive, and I found no shade at all at the pool, It was very hot and the concrete will burn your feet without having shoes on. Next time I go there I am going to book an excursion to get away from the port area and find a more quiet area. I will say that the beach on the rockier side is better. My first experience in Grand Turk was not the greatest. I know it is beautiful there, but you have to get away from the port to see it.

  5. I booked an VIFP rate last week through my PVP, the rate last week didn't include OBC, now it does. Is there any way to get that OBC for that rate, or is my rate final. I've only paid the down payment at this point. I'm sure there is nothing that can be done, but I'm just asking for fun. Thanks.

  6. We cruised last September on the Ecstasy, not many kids were onboard that cruise. Our daughter had just turned 12 in July, she LOVED Circle C. If your cruise doesn't have many kids onboard they may make an exception. Our daughter hung out with kids ages 12-14 all week. I met a lot of them and one boy was right down the hall from us as was another girl, they all walked our daughter back to our cabin first and were very polite. She can't wait to cruise again and see if she can make new friends. I'm looking at the Magic, September 2018.

  7. My kids asked us to make our next cruise different ports, they are starting to want to see other places! So next Christmas we will do Bahamas. We never did Nachi, we just love Paradise Beach. This year I spent a lot more then I normally do at Paradise Beach, but I think that had something to do with have another person able to consume alcohol on this portion of the trip!

My past cruises sound just like yours. We sailed the Victory in 2013, same itenerary, we just walked around Key West, and went to Passion Island in Cozumel. This past September we took the Ecstasy out of Charleston to the Bahamas. Both were great cruises. Sorry about your dad, that's never easy. I lost my mother in law 2 years ago right before Christmas and my mother 8 months later. Hugs to you.

  8. My husband, daughter 12, and I cruised the Ecstasy in September. My daughter LOVED Circle C, but she is 12. She was given a lot of freedom on this trip. We were able to check in with her through the Carnival Hub App. We were only one floor down from the club also, which was easy for us to check on her every now and again. Our CD was Paulie V, he is on the Victory now assisting. He was wonderful. I really enjoyed him a lot. The staff was amazing, but I noticed a lot of them were leaving for home after our cruise. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but we always loved the grill outside and the salad bar as well as the MDR. I played a lot of trivia games on that trip and brought home 2 ships on a stick. We loved the Ecstasy, but not necessarily the Charleston port.

  9. I've been looking at cruising in Sept. 2018 for our 15th anniversary. I just cruised on the Ecstasy in September so we would like a newer ship next time. I can only find the Dream out of NOLA that interests me at this time. I'm just going to keep looking to see the availability of the Magic or the Breeze.

  10. I was on the Ecstasy in September, it's the same ship class, the smoke from the casino was strong, and we had to walk thru it to get to the dining room. Also, I played several trivia games that took place right outside the casino and it stunk all the time. Lots of smokers are in the casino.

  11. I thought the Victory was a beautiful, low-key ship. It has not gotten all of the upgrades yet like Guys burgers but we liked the food options. Like it was stated above, pizza is available all the time. We love the room service options for snacks. I was disappointed that you cannot access the decks all the way around like in the Fantasy Class ships but it's still a great ship. The décor is like an undersea adventure with lots of seahorses, octopus, and green. We had a balcony chin and used it a lot. Have fun!!!

  12. We have put Carvial Hub on our phones and plan to use them only for texting each other on the ship. I understand that you put your phone on Airplane Mode and it's a $5 one time fee for "chat". For anyone that has used it, is this correct? I don't want to come home to a big cell phone bill !!! Thanks!

The texting option works for everyone in your party and there is a five dollar charge per phone. We were on the Ecstasy September 12-17. The texts to my daughter came through every time. It worked well.

  13. I loved the one hit wonder trivia on Ecstasy a couple weeks ago, I lost in a tie breaker. Harry Potter trivia was hard for me, my daughter was seasick and couldn't go. Friends trivia was fun and we did really well in both general trivia games, we won one of them. I love to go to as many as possible.

  14. A Passenger asked my daughter where he could get seasick meds on the ship, she said one of the shops. Can you go to guest services and get something? We were experiencing rough seas the last day and a half. Our daughter was sick to her stomach for the entire last day. I didn't have anything to give her.
