Just for clarification, you can turn in laundry by hanging the bag on your door handle when going to breakfast and do the same for dinner.  Within two days, all of the wrinkled clothes in your luggage will be free of wrinkles.  Note that you cannot turn in laundry the day before you disembark but you will have very few items of dirty clothing when you arrive back home, or continue your vacation.

If you choose to use the laundry service, you should be aware that all clothing is returned on hangers and have laundry tags attached (except undershorts, handkerchiefs, and socks).  It is wise to remove the tags as soon as your clothing is returned or you might find yourself being irritated a bit while out and about.  Each ship laundry seems to attach their tags in different locations on clothing items but they are consistent from day to day.  Find and remove the tags the first time and you will know where to look for them the rest of the cruise.

Pack less and have more room for souvenirs.

Good suggestion!  I can't stand it when our dry cleaners staples their tags!  We have only used Celebrity's laundry services and they did not use those dratted tags!

On formal nights the recommend that you wear your baseball cap facing forward.  I always use my formal flip flops with nice cargo shorts.

I had to chuckle at that suggestion!  On our eastern Med. cruise a couple of years ago, I had to wear my Bzees tennis shoes, but they were slip on and had sparkles galore in the threads.  I tried the other shoes I had brought, but my feet were so swollen by our 8:30pm dinner time that I had no choice but to wear them.  Looked odd with my dresses, but okay with my dress slacks. Lol

True no indoor smoking on Celebrity.. BUT way way more outside smoking areas , HAL normally has just one outside smoking area on their remaining ships, and unlike Celebrity you don't unknowingly stumble across a smoking area when exploring outside.

Personally I prefer HAL's smoking protocols, accept for the casino, they are WAY WAY more restrictive than Celebrity

You are right!  It bugs me that smoking is allowed around the Mast Grill!

For information, as of today on the Know Before You Go page:

Due to the current health and safety protocols in our continuing effort to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, smoking will be temporarily prohibited in all casinos on the Volendam, Zaandam, Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam until further notice.”

Wow!  Great news for some of us.  Thank you, Bob.

On a 14 night journey soon on Silhouette and i believe 3 formal/ chic nights may be the order of the game. Are they usually on sea day evenings or could be on port days too?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

On our eastbound TA in 2018, our 3 evening chic nights were on "at sea" days.  On your daily planner left on your bed at turn down the steward left the next day's planner.  On the front page there would be a notice when the evening chic (gala) night would be the next day.  Plus there would usually be mention of it by the cruise director or sometimes by the captain the day of gala night.

No change to that policy, bring as much soft drink as you like

On our last cruise in Oct 2019, we had a couple of MDR  tablemates who said they bring their Mountain Dew on all X cruises.  I thought maybe they were Elite or something.  It was my understanding sods were not allowed to be brought onboard!  I hope this is true.😊

Has anyone on the Celebrity Reflection had one of the cabins at the very far back of ship, the ones with the balcony looking out behind the ship? Trying to decide if I should keep the one we have or switch to one on the side. Thanks

We noticed while seated at our outdoor table at the Oceanview buffet that all the aft veranda cabins lacked the privacy our starboard balcony cabin afforded us.  We could easily see part of each of the balconies of aft cabins.  They are tiered so we felt we preferred our side cabin balcony.  Personal opinion, you understand!  Plus, my husband did not want to see where we had been all the time.  We like seeing behind, straight out view, and forward while on our balcony.

So we are booked in a Concierge Class balcony cabin.  Are you saying we would have access to a concierge once onboard who could help with dining reservations, etc.?

Yes!☺  Be aware they are only at his/her desk at certain times of the day.  Our concierges have always been great!  They stood at the Concierge line and introduced themselves to us as we checked in!

HAL retired about 15 years older ships but none of their Vista Class ships that sre similar in age to Constellation.

Hope the Infinity goes before the Connie!  I want  to sail on that ship.

I also got excited when I saw Constellation was enroute to Cadiz. We were very disappointed that the revolution refit didn’t take place and are debating whether to make final payment next month for our November ABC cruise. It is a lift and shift from Nov 20 and has all 4 legacy perks from the now defunct Go Best program so it is a difficult decision.

We had considered a western Med. on the "Connie" in May 2022, but not unless she gets a REFURB not just required mtce.  She is long overdue for a refurb. (IMO).

Yes he can. We always do SD (MDR) and I always wear a polo/golf style shirt with dockers every evening.

We have sailed on the Solstice (AK), Silhouette (TA), and Reflection (Eastern Med.) and I must say that on each of those cruises, 99% of our gentlemen dinner companions wore long-sleeve button down shirts.  My hubby wore a polo shirt the first night on the Alaska cruise and was the only one wearing one at a table for 8.  He wore long sleeves afterwards.  Same thing happened on the Reflection's 2019 eastern Med. cruise.  He also wore long sleeves the remaining 11 nights!

If the OBC is in your account, it should just apply.  You may need to indicate that you want it to apply when you are checking out, so look out for that, but it should not be an issue.

In the Tuscan Grille we just told our server we wanted to use OBC as we were seated and that took care of that.

You get one bag each.  If I recall they also now have a limit of something like 30 pieces in a bag.    Not sure if they actually count.

There used to be coupons for onboard use placed on your vanity upon check-in.  If you are a Captain's Club member there was  info for  ONE TIME PER SAILING of 10% off.  You just had to write "Capt. Club member discount" on the ticket.  We have used that on each X cruise!  Every little bit helps when you are not Elite!😊

On Silhouette, concierge rooms are same size as regular veranda rooms. They are just in different locations. Concierge has some added features that may benefit you.  Only you can decide if the extra expense is worth it.  The embarkation lunch in the MDR is good. You avoid the crowds at the Buffet. The afternoon snacks are not much. Anyone can call room service.  Concierge earns extra captains club points.  There is a dedicated concierge.  There is also some wine or bubbly in the cabin on embarkation.  Check the X website to see the list of benefits.

We book Concierge because it states we can embark and disembark whenever we chose and that appeals to us.  Also liked having our Concierge book shore excursions.  Food not that great in MDR on sail away day, but nice not to have to stand in line waiting for food and then trying to find a place to sit!  Also, like the expanded Room Service breakfast menu!

You should have no problem with special dietary needs. Just let them know what they are. I feel there is no value in paying for concierge class at all. I don't need questionable snacks every afternoon and care nothing for the MDR lunch on embarkation day. I believe you may get a complimentary bottle of cheap bubbly, but not sure.

Vile tasting "bubbly".  Pour it down the sink or toilet.

Bring your own speaker.   If you are used to a quality speaker you won’t be happy using any supplied by Celebrity.   The speaker on the TV is always bad.   Bose makes some nice portable speakers, always take mine but I also use my Bose headphones so I don’t disturb neighbors on the ship.

    YOU are a thoughtful passenger!

Always great to hear what a first time celebrity cruiser thinks, especially when they have some experience of other mass market ships of similar size.

regarding the rude guests unfortunately this is something we’ve experienced on most if not all of our cruises (around 20 in total with around 15 on celebrity) some people are just born without any manners or basic decency towards other human beings.

Wonder how these rude bullies would feel if they were treated in the same manner as they dish out to the poor staff?

Great summary!  We had the same problem in the dining room - super slow - 2-3 hours for dinner, but the food was good.  The other two nightly gifts were a print and a folio with a photo of the ship to commemorate the first sailing of Equinox in 15 months.  We had such a fun time!   We got off in all ports and enjoyed the beach in St Maarten and St Thomas.  The perfect weather was a bonus and I enjoyed the captain's funny morning reports.

You must have had Capt. Tasos!  He was our captain on our first X cruise on the Solstice and he is simply hilarious!  We laughed til we cried on the final night's "Liars Club" in the theatre.

They use Coke products. "Our Soda Package features both fountain and canned soda for more variety and convenience. Selections include new, popular flavors such as Coke Zero, Barq's Root Beer, Sprite Zero, and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke."

I do not believe Dr Pepper is to be found there. But you can carry on what you like.

Because of their soda selection, I turned to pina coladas and gave up my soda addiction.

I have seen Coke products on our X cruises.
