1. knot: I don't have a map, but you really don't need one. If you go out the gate at Crown Bay and turn right, stay on that sidewalk all the way to town. You will have to cross a couple of side streets but stay on that side until you see the town area. Easy peasy. :D

    Thanks!

  2.
Thanks for the comprehensive comparisons....makes us feel better about sticking with X...love AQ class and BLU

While we can still get water at bars, dining venues with Classic bev package and can bring onboard our own Fiji water, we miss the daily delivered bottled water we used to get in AQ on X

The Canyon Ranch Spa is a big upgrade from prior vendor....love the spa..wish it had a better T pool
No more bottled water in Aqua class on X? Do you know when this stopped?
  3. A Celebrity first? An Italian Master? Captain Vito, a new promotion.

Captain Panos sadly is no longer with Celebrity.

For some reason my upgrade to MS 10 did not include MS Paint and I can't format my chart.

    Silhouette:

Mark Tomley is the new F&B Manager,

Rossy is the new Captain's Club Host

Captain DIMITRIOS KAFETZIS is in countdown mode to his vacation.

E Alevropoulos is not going to Eclipse as announced in February but moving to Miami.

Captain Leo who told us in November that Equinox is his ship now, is moving to Eclipse to take E Alevropoulos posting.

Thanks Arno, sadly is the right word for the loss of Captain Panos.

  4. How quickly things change.

On our February Eclipse sailing, captain Manetas was having lunch in the Oceanview Cafe with Captain Sympouras and Captain Alevropoulos.

Captain Manteas was leaving on vacation and his replacement was Michael Sympouras (from infinity) who would then switch with Captain Alevropoulos (from Silhouette). Captain Manteas would go to Solstice in June.

In November Captain Leo was suddenly at the helm of Equinox having replaced Captain Panos who I understand is no longer with Celebrity. He told us that Equinox was now "his" ship.

A week ago I said: "This is the "roster" but sometimes, when one blinks, it changes." ;)

Do you know where Captain Panos went? Retired, another line...he is/was our favorite Captain!!

  5. More and more cruise ships go to Rotterdam and many passengers think only of going to Amsterdam when they arrive. But why not consider what there is to see and do in Rotterdam? It is a modern city by comparison, but there are several things you could include. Take a boat trip to Kinderdijk, see some museums, see the cube houses and other new buildings and the Euromast for a great view of the harbor.

If you like to explore and walk, you might take a look at the following web site for a ‘Rotterdam Walking Tour’. It is the fifth in a series of cities in Europe. http://www.********.com/rotterdam

Perhaps it gives you some ideas such as using the Water Taxi to get around, the Spido harbor tour and more.

This is Page 1 and I am still working on Page 2. So give me another few days for the rest.

Lair Bear, we are going to be in Rotterdam in April and I would love to have your walking tours, however, I don't know what the **** stand for. You can e-mail me at whitejn at Comcast dot net....THANKS!

  6. We used Provence Xplorer. Emma was a wonderful guide for the four of us but I felt bad for her because it was freezing cold and windy and so we raced through the town trying to keep warm. I had been to Le Baux before it the other shad not and I was sorry they did not get to truly enjoy this magical place. But we were all happy campers tasting wine at Mas de la Dame. Even Though we were on Seabourn where wine is included in our cruise fare we bought some wine to take back and drink on the cruise.

    Thank you!

  7. Question>>>> my daughter and I will be going on a short 5 day Carnival cruise out of Jax in December. We will be driving and would like to find less expensive parking than the $15 per day that Carnival charges. Suggestions on where to park? Thanks

Jetway Parking at the airport exit will provide parking and shuttle to the port.

  8. Last year RCCL did a 10 night Baltic cruise in and out of Copenhagen, followed by a 7 night Norwegian fjords cruise back to Copenhagen. Then a 10 night cruise of the British Isles to Southampton. We took the last two legs and then spent more time in England. But the point is there are some interesting, varied, itineraries if you don't stick solely to E. Med AND Baltics.

  9. I'm assuming that this is on DL240 (aka AZ7601) arriving 0730, connecting to AZ496 (aka DL6615) departing 0825? That's a published (and therefore legal) connection, and the published Minimum Connection Time is 45 minutes.

This means that the airlines expect to get most passengers through and onto the following flight on most days.

If you miss the onward flight, the airlines are contractually obliged to get you to Bucharest (assuming that you have a single ticket covering both flights) and you will not have to buy a new ticket to get there. The next flight to Bucharest is AZ494 at 1500, arriving 1810. You would almost certainly make that flight (and there's a later flight too).

You don't say, though, whether you have an overnight stay in Bucharest before the cruise departs. If you don't, then a misconnect means that you may well miss the ship's departure. You definitely need to have the cruise line's contact details then, so that they can get you to the ship's next stop from Bucharest.

Thank you for your response. Yes, the agent I talked to said the posted connections time is 45 minutes. And we are staying at a hotel in Bucharest that night with a transfer the next day to Constanta to board the boat. I have the next flight in my notes. Just wanted the experts to weigh in on passport control and security.

  10. Romania is not schengen, as mentioned, so it's a separate immigration system. The fact that it's EU doesn't matter. You won't clear immigration in Rome.

But you will have to change terminals and re-clear security. Can't see any way you'll make it.

Thanks, Zach 1213. Unfortunately, last minute means just that...we leave in 6days. No way would they change our flight reservations, just going to be prepared to make other arrangements once we get to Rome.

  11. We booked a last minute river cruise leaving from Atlanta to Rome then on to Bucharest. The river cruise company booked the flights and we only have 55 minutes in Rome to catch the next flight. Will we have to go through passport control in Rome since Romania is an EU country but not part of the Schengen agreement? I am guessing we arrive at Terminal 3 and our tickets say the flight to Bucharest is leaving from Terminal 1. Do we have enough time?

  12. use a local car service I use Arecibo 7187836465. It should be about #40. you call when you are past customs. they will be there in 10 minutes. The port cotracts with a car service for about twice that amount. If there are NY yellow cabs it should cost about the same depending on traffic. without traffic

its 20 minutes with traffic its longer...

Thanks, friends from NJ scared us today saying we had to go over two toll bridges, etc!! Peace of mind.

  13. We had 4 days in Israel in 2011 and had a wonderful tour with Moti.

If Moti is not available on the days you need, then ask for Tal - she is fantastic!!!

We used Moti for three days in Israel, both Haifa and Ashdod, wonderful guide.

Do make sure you ask for a modern coach with big windows. We were not pleased the first day and told him so. The next two days we had a much better van.

  14. CruiseMom, is your sister on the roll call? We did end up booking and are really looking forward to the trip.

I'm here and on the roll call. See you onboard.
