We did it in November 2012. You will LOVE it! It is such a different experience.
-
Hope you will continue your blog for the next segment, Terry. It is a pleasure to read your posts in the dismal days of a Scottish February!
-
Thank you. Lots of the world's locomotives were also made in Glasgow.
-
Terry, we were thrilled to be told that the balcony balustrades in the Opera House in Manaus were made here in Glasgow and shipped out to Brazil. They told us it was wrought iron open work rather than a solid front to the balconies because it helps with air flow and cooling. Interesting, eh?

Terry, we have been lucky enough to enjoy two of these ceremonies. One on a Cape Town/Las Palmas and the second on the Amazon. Loads of fun and all credit to the staff who go the extra mile to make it very entertaining.

I bought some nutmeg in that same processing plant, Terry. Am still using it, and every time I grate it, the smell transports me right back to the cruise you are on which we did in 2012.
-
Great, Ron, I've been looking forward to this.
-
Travel safely and enjoy.
-
Where will we find your blog from the Orcaella, Ron?
-
Yes, and yes. No problem.
-
It probably was me, Ravenscroft, I have told sooooo many people how brilliant it is. If I go for a snooze after lunch onboard (which I frequently do as I will have had wine with lunch!) I use it then also and don't hear a thing from the corridors or other cabins. I am so pleased you like yours.

Yes, looking forward to reading all about it. Be sure to let us know where can follow it. Travel safely, guys.

I bought mine from Amazon and the brand name is Marsona. I think it was around £50 or £60. It has been worth its weight in gold.
-
I have a travel size white noise machine which we use on cruises or in hotel rooms whenever we travel. It is a brilliant piece of kit. Doesn't eliminate noise, but it certainly muffles it.

Enjoying all the posts. Suzanne and Mark, all the best for a trivia win!
-
For fogmalkin - Suzanne, how are you guys? Glad to read you are keeping up the trivia tradition. Bill and I have been on a couple of Seabourn cruises since we met you on the Shadow. We are doing the Silver Spirit TA in April 2015. Pat xx

I got 2 referral vouchers from SB after our first cruise with them. I've used both of them. Can I ask for more after our next cruise or are passengers restricted to just 2 ?
-
Well said, jenindallas.
-
Yes, they do have soya milk and all sorts of teas. Just ask.

Just to add to what has been said, last month we did the Athens/Mumbai on the Odyssey. Wonderful cruise but you should be aware that the port of Safaga in Egypt is a four-hour drive to Luxor. Many of us took the overnight package. Aqaba in Jordan is a good two to three hour drive from Petra. We had a rest stop halfway back from Petra to Aqaba and were surprised and delighted to find Seabourn staff waiting for us with cold towels, champagne and caviar. Delightful.

Flamin June, you should write a book. Your posts are so descriptive and evocative. Am thoroughly enjoying them and eagerly opening my iPad in the morning to look for another. Will be sorry when you disembark.
-
Loving your posts, Flaminjune, keep them coming if you can.
-
Ron, it was a pleasure to read your posts. Bill and I are just back from an Athens to Mumbai on the Seabourn Odyssey, so have been able to read your tale in one. Well done to you and Ann and the other medicos - what a brilliant thing to do. Hope you are both well and happy. P and B xx

Thank you, Jo. It was great fun. Athens to Mumbai was a great cruise and the added security brought in by Seabourn made everyone feel safer. Sorry, I'm hijacking this thread!

Am sitting on the fence, Terry, I like all three of your sunset pix. I love the lighting effects in one and two, and the sheer beauty in pic three.
