  1. Here they are but they do have some associated costs$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 🙂
  2. The match yesterday was between Sporting Limericks and Avonmore (Kilkenny) in the Irish sport of hurling. That is played on grass not in the bathroom. The Sporting Limericks retained the All Irish Cup with a victory. Had a great walk through Trinity University. We thought Dublin was a great city and very clean. It was vibrant, young and fun!!!! Lunch was at a Temple Bar area establishment, The Elephant and Castle. DW highly recommends and I concur. Dinner last night was at The Compass Rose. DW had the Branzino and I had the 5 course chef's degustation selection. Both were excellent, sorry no photos. This suite is excellent. Although the balcony is small, much smaller than some of the penthouse balconies on the Explorer, it comfortably fits two chairs and table between. It is also very private, as it totally surrounded by the suite. There is not even a hint of a complaint for the suite services we are receiving. Laundry is picked up at dinner time and delivered the next day again at dinner time, so good and simple! Breakfast’s have been on-time and delivered hot when required. Room service is very responsive. I would venture to say that the RSSC Voyager is back to pre-COVID standards of excellence. Enjoy……from Ireland. Oh, my 8-year old grandson in Connecticut found not one but TWO four leaf clovers this weekend. I guess we should buy a lottery ticket here in Ireland.
  3. Day 3 Dublin, Ireland. We docked in Dun Laoghaire which is about 10 miles from central Dublin. This was a tender port. Originally we were planned to dock in Dublin but that was changed well over a year ago to this location. Regent ran a smooth operation as far as getting guests ashore. One thing unusual was that each time a tender made a run to the dock or back to the ship it had a guide boat escorting the tender for the trip. We used the Hop on Hop off bus to see as much of the city as possible. Once we completed a circuit we disembarked in central Dublin. Shopping was necessary to pick up a few forgotten items. The weather was beautiful and the crowds were large. There was a sporting match being played yesterday afternoon in Dublin between Sporting Limericks and Avenmore (not sure which Irish sport but probably Hurley). to be continued……
  4. The gym is on deck 6 port side and is about 40 feet by 15 feet with all the usual pieces of equipment. See picture below. There’s also an aerobics room on the starboard side of deck 6 of similar dimensions.
  5. There are 529 passengers on board for this segment. There is plenty of crew members. No shortages that I can detect and they ALL are very well trained in the Regent Way. My DW commented the other night in Prime 7 that the service was TOO good. She never could get to the bottom of her wine glass. 😉
  6. Never2home we are departing the Voyager in Copenhagen on August 11th and transferring to the Navigator sailing from Amsterdam on August 12th, part of our B2B2T2B, so we will not be visiting those ports. We do visit Gothenburg, Sweden on August 9th and have a walking tour there. We were originally booked for a B2B2B on the Voyager but changed the last segments due to the ongoing uncertainty with Russia. Have not visited the gym yet but will do so later today. I have been using the walking / jogging track on deck 12 since the morning weather has been pleasant. It is exactly 7 laps around that track to the mile according to my Apple Watch.
  7. A sea day!!! Do whatever you want or nothing at all. I chose the latter. Watched The Open Golf tournament and did a bit of walking on deck 12. Got 3 miles in or 21 trips around the jogging track. Tonight was the Captain’s reception which we skipped. Still recovering from the week in Bath and storing energy for Ireland. Well that’s my excuse….. We had dinner at Prime 7…. Good not great. DW had the iceberg lettuce salad which was fresh but the dressing was bland. She thought a more Caesar type dressing would have been appropriate. She also had the small plate loin strips , decent not great. I had the tuna / avocado poke that was outstanding, a clam chowder that was a total miss, and the prime rib medium rare that was good. The problem with the prime rib was the horseradish…. terrible!!! We finished dinner off with the Carmel Popcorn Sundae, very good. The sides; mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and sautéed mushrooms were excellent. Overall a B for Prime 7. Photos to follow and hopefully better than yesterday’s!!!!! Off the ship early tomorrow as we dock in Dublin or near Dublin by 5:30 a.m. as I have been reminded. Is there anything open in Dublin on a Sunday morning besides the churches???? It promises to be a good weather day so we will do our best to assist there economy. Have fun everyone and enjoy!!!!
  8. Gifts from RSSC for the 30th anniversary. A set of 4 coasters, 2-30 year anniversary pins and 2 sleep masks, all of course with Regent Signatures….. they are very nice.
  9. Hopefully the menus posted can be read. Sometimes the glare from the glass does impact the readability of the photo. A beautiful day in the Irish Sea. Temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s at lunch time with little if any wind. Relatively calm seas and we are still crawling along at a snail’s pace. No chair hogs this morning. Plenty of front row chaise lounges and shade spots available as well. Not sure of the passenger count but it does seem a bit light. However there was a first for me this morning. Regent has a “teen camp” on this sailing. The counsellor said there were around 12 teens on this segment. Sports deck here they come…hey maybe I can get a good game of pickle ball..
  10. Here is a letter from Jason Montague delivered to all passengers this morning.
  11. We are in a Voyager suite on deck 9. It is quite comfortable. Very large walk-in closet and the extra 1/2 bath is a large positive. Last evening’s entertainment was the Little Opera Company. 4 British singers, 2 female, 2 male who were very, very good. They mostly did show tunes that the audience was familiar with. The LOC has 3 shows during this segment so I will get to see how varied their repertoire is. Seas are absolutely flat this morning. We are coasting along at only 1/2 speed as it really isn’t that far from Southampton to Dublin and today is a sea day. Good morning for a walk around the ship and a visit to the paddle tennis court. However breakfast will come first. Suresh, our butler, will be delivering it shortly; smoked salmon on bagels with all the usual accompaniments. Oh, I forgot to mention that we are doing a B2B2T2B. Anybody care to guess what that is? Answer later this evening.
  12. Sorry about the duplicate pictures. Also the description of the various food items was removed. Spaghetti alla carbonara Gnocchi in pesto Veal scaloppine in a very delicate lemon sauce. A traditional veal chop for DW Flourless chocolate cake (so-so) Limoncellos (a few) Sailaway from Southampton
  13. We had dinner at Setti Marie last night. We arrived early and were able to secure one of the tables outside on the back deck. It was a magical place for the sail away from Southampton, perfect temperatures and brilliant blue skies. I will upload pictures in the next edition. I am having a bit of technical difficulty with transferring the images from the iPhone to my iPad (older model) which I usually do through email. The dinner was excellent. Bread and starters upon arrival Spaghetti alla carbonara
  14. Good afternoon everyone, reporting from the Voyager. I will be attempting a live blog for the next 40 + days as we traverse Northern Europe on board the beautiful RSSC Voyager. This cruise segment is one of Regent’s 30th anniversary cruises so some special events are planned. I will attempt to keep you informed of those. RSSC CEO Jason Montague is on board and will host a town hall during this segment. A step back in time before continuing. We arrived in London last Friday but were immediately whisked away to Bath, UK. We were fortunate to book a flat in central bath between the Circus and the Royal Crescent. Had a wonderful time in and around southwest England. The only disappointment was Burton on the River in the Cotswolds; very touristy, gimmicky, etc. Stonehenge, Avebury, The Slaughters, Castle Coombe were all phenomenal stops during our week. We also enjoyed Bath thoroughly. Great shopping!!!! They were preparing for a Michael Buble concert in front of the Royal Crescent that is going on right now as I write this journal. We took a car service from Bath this morning and arrived at the portion Southampton at 11:25 a.m. We were sitting on the pool deck with Champagne in hand (Monopole) at 11:50 a.m. Suffice it to say that boarding was a very easy process. They did check for COVID tests, vaccination cards and of course passports. Very efficient here in Southampton. There was an amazing amount of local staff here to assist passengers. RSSC staff were also very visible making sure that the boarding process was as seamless as possible. If there are any other bloggers on this cruise please join in with your unique viewpoints. I’ll answer any questions you might have that I can find the correct answers for. For right now got to run…….
  15. We just returned from Italy. All public transportation required a FFP2 or equivalent mask to be worn. On Trenitalia Trains they were quite strict about this requirement. The same for the Rome hop on hop off tour buses. Taxi’s required masks. On June 16, 2022 the Italian Government extended the masking requirement for public transport. Some local shops required that masks be worn to enter. These were in the minority and we’re getting less during our time in Italy. When we returned the the U.S. we wore masks in the airport but once on board the aircraft masks were not required.
  16. We board the Voyager on July 15th. Looking forward to your almost live trip report. Safe travels and have a fantastic cruise. what part of Illinois?
  17. When we were in Italy it was not with Regent. However we did run into a Regent excursion in Florence that was from Voyager, totally by chance. When we boarded the aircraft we were greeted by a flight attendant who was not wearing a mask. However the ground personnel just outside the aircraft were all wearing masks. It seemed clear that the demarcation line for wearing / not wearing a mask was the aircraft. Whether that would be true in all cases is open to debate.
  18. Italy still has a requirement to wear a FFP2 mask on board trains, planes, and ships and inside any terminal that services those systems. We just left Italy yesterday and can vouch that indeed the FFP2 mask was required UNTIL we got on the aircraft (American Airlines). At that point we were able to remove the mask if so desired. On board trains inside Italy they were very strict about compliance with their mask mandate.
