  1. We love the Beach House and went twice on Azura in June. I think it costs £7.50 each and maybe a little more for some dishes. DH always enjoys the lava steak.
  2. I don't think there's anything quite as exciting as your first cruise. That moment when you first board to me was like Christmas morning as a kid. Have a wonderful time!
  3. Sorry don't want to hijack this post. Do you just go here independently by taxi?
  4. I agree but you can't really dash to the bathroom to wash your hands once you've put your food on the table before you eat it can you 😉
  5. Same here. Just back from Azura. Used sanitiser each time we went in buffet even going back fo dessert. And my own hand gel after using tongs before eating. Still was bit poorly for 2 days. Going to try probiotics before next trip to reinforce my tummy.
  6. The vibrating cabin wasn't just ours then! We wouldn't book another aft for that reason. It was horrendous. Like being next to a pneumatic drill when docking. On an odd night (seemed to be when we were going a bit faster) the bed shook that much I had to sleep on the sofa, although I am a light sleeper. Will stick to midship next time.
  7. I have to be honest and say we never visited that area this time.
  8. Nor us prior. Won't be booking that one again. It wasn't nice, believe me. And yet the cabin was lovely, plenty of space.
  9. Hi we just got back yesterday from a week on Azura. Never noticed a sewage smell on deck. We had a lovely time. Went on her 4 years ago. Still looking lovely. Only problem we had was a vibrating deluxe cabin on E deck. Seriously couldn't sleep when she was docking which was a pain as sometimes this was very early. The whole cabin shook. But we'd definitely go on Azura again.
  10. Hi we are on this cruise too. We booked in January and paid quite a bit more than that although we did get more OBC. Sounds a good price. Brittanias a lovely ship. Our first cruise was a transatlantic on her in 2017 and we were hooked too. We enjoy the sea days though but not everyone does.
  11. Hope you have a great time. Our neighbours are on this cruise too. We stayed at the Holiday Inn (Herbert Walker Avenue) last November, the night before our cruise on Iona. It was lovely and very convenient for the port and West Quay. Look forward to your review
  12. I've booked one on E deck. Fancy the larger cabin. Thanks though
  13. Weve booked A deck but liked the idea of a larger cabin and so thinking about E deck. So E deck would be no more in the shade than A deck depending where the sun is?
  14. Hi all. I've been trying to work out if the above balconies are in the shade all the time. I like the sun so enjoy topping up my tan. Can't work it out from conflicting reviews. Thanks
  15. We were on Iona in November, cabin 12612. Very noisy in bad weather across the BOB. Had to wear ear plugs.
  16. Sounds great. Thanks for your replies. We will definitely go this time.
  17. Hi. We're not going til next March but wondering what this is like. Enjoyed 2 TAs Soton to Barbados and we've decided to do it the other way round next year. The local taxi drivers were amazed we weren't going to Oistins. Is it good. Is it safe? Thanks
  18. Guess we might have been just lucky as it was a quieter night but we were sat here and it was fine.
  19. We loved the Keel and Cow when we were on Iona in November. The Hampshire cheese was very nice. Very strong though. Cleared your sinuses! It was quiet when we went and we sat at a table that was at the far end of the atrium. Loved it. We'd definitely go again.
  20. We were on Iona in November/December. The crossing back wasn't great to be honest as there was a large swell. I managed with Stugeron and seabands but felt really queasy in the MDR one night and it wasnt easy to sleep as we were on deck 12. We also got catapulted from a lift due to the movement which was funny at the time. It was winter though. DH thought it was fantastic as hes ex merchant navy. If we sailed on the BOB route again I would definitely choose a cabin low down and midship especially if prone to seasickness.
  21. We booked about 4 weeks ago and used tesco vouchers but because we used these we weren't allowed any BLC discount
  22. Yes one per person. You fill a form in with your cabin number and names and then put the form in boxes dotted round the ship which then goes in the draw
  23. We saw him on Iona in November. He was fantastic. It is for charity.
  24. Yes us too. Same time off Iona in November. Easy peasy. We were actually surprised at how easy. We had a long journey ahead of us and couldn't bear the thought of hanging round waiting to disembark.
