I don’t think anything too serious.  Just a summer dress.   People have looked nice in the YC in the evenings.  

Lunch drinks.   Sauvignon Blanc and sparkling water.   

PizzAdventure.   Mom and I saw someone eating pizza on the deck and went to the main buffet to find our own.  Main deck looked wild but fun, doing some kind of music involved bingo.  On our way there,  there were still plenty of loungers overlooking the Ocean on the mezzanine.   We took a few wrong turns on our way back.  The butlers will now deliver pizza to the YC deck, this was once a controversial topic, but it may be quicker to get your own.    The pizza was worth the journey.

The invitation said smart casual.  I just wore a casual sundress.  Some people were more dressed up and looked really nice, others straggled in late looking less lovely.  I wasn’t embarrassed by what I wore, but I wouldn’t have wanted to be less dressy.  I think for a man, shorts and a collared shirt would be perfect.

Lovely, short and sweet Captain’s reception with Cruise Director Mathias Mcing and the senior officers.   Fun ice breaker with the ship’s dance instructors and beautiful live piano by a gentlemen from Ukraine.   Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

Yes, same with us!  Back when they still had mini operas.  

Yesterday we didn’t do much but explore the ship and marvel at the New York skyline.   We met a lovely local couple who knew all the beach names and islands.  After we left the Big Apple behind, we unpacked and rested.   I explored the ship and then we got ready for dinner!  
 

Today, so far, is breakfast on deck then the Captains reception at the Top Sail at 10:45.     Chat with you then!   

Coffee in the room and breakfast on deck!  They also made me a fresh egg but I cut into it before taking a pic.  (I’m still learning).  No one wants to see egg smoosh.  
 

We met a lovely couple who wished my Mom a happy birthday after reading the blog so it’s nice to see a few of you are following along!!! At a minimum, I told my husband to come here for pics since texting pics is almost impossible.  

Good morning!  Ship time change makes it a most 9:00 today.   Some gentle rocking last night but nothing too aggressive.  Not bad for barely missing the hurricane! 

Serious question for the cruise critics experts. How can you have a day drink or two and then hang at night?   I’m wiped and drinking sparkling water! 

The show “cool” was… loud…and colorful.   I think a lot of the performers were really good it was just kinda hard to tell behind the pink plastic hair, fluorescent feather coats, and bleeding ears.

  One standout was a couple of Latin dancers who were honestly amazing.   My Mom asked where the female dancer was from and it was Colombia which makes a lot of sense.  Her figure though 😍.  #lifegoals!!  
 

The real party was the 70’s dancing in the atrium.  The ceiling changes are fun.  

He also said that there are 4,450 guests.  127 Italy, 240 Canadians, 245 from China, 403 Misc.  the rest from the States.    

Cruise director Mathias asked the crowd at the show if it was their first MSC cruise and almost 4/5ths of the non YC audience said it was.   They’re definitely making a play for the US market.  

For dinner I had dumplings and clam risotto. And my Mom had scallops and grilled salmon.   I had creme Catalan for dessert but the real winner was the tiramisu.  Plus a huge birthday cake!

Internet is slowing down for texting pics but so far cruise critic is going strong.  

Two French champagnes included in the YC drink package.   I asked if I bought another one not included if I’d have to pay the full price or pay the difference and I got two different answers.   I’ll test it out when I haven’t had so much to drink and I’ll better appreciate what I may or may not have to pay for.  Chambord Royal included.  

Gasoline and cheap Amazon goods brought to you by the Port of NJ.  All the container ships lined up to unload.   

We’ve left the pilot behind.   A smaller boat picked him up and brought him to the mother ship!  Thank you for your service, sir!  (It was a man, I checked)
