Any place where you can make your own mofongo without being on a tour?
-
We are in the same thought process. I’m trying to put together my own ‘food tour’ so to speak. I’ve read about the paid tours and am trying to map out the places. Anyone done this that would have helpful tips?

I’m surprised they don’t sell baby wipes on the ship.....

Does every CP balcony room get these amenities or are they available ONLY if you upgrade from an OV? The flyer was a bit confusing to me.
My mom and aunt have a CP balcony booked on Oasis through Costco. They get one specialty dinner for 4, one lunch at Johnny Rockets for 4, soda package, cupcake class and $25 credit towards drinks (plus a Costco gift card). It was a great deal, so not complaining at all. Just wondering about the wine.
These are the EXTRA perks offered through this TA, we are soon sailing in a CP through them and also received these. Yes, these are a great deal!
And to agree with other posters, yes the 3 listed perks (wine, lunch, casino lesson) come with every CP cabin.

Can you re-use a wow band from a previous cruise? (Harmony then and upcoming)
-
The last time we were on Harmony in JS, falling asleep on the balcony was a favorite routine of mine, especially after a busy port day (or a sea day...lol). I will add though that we had the reclining chairs with the footstools.

Thank you for sharing (her review as well as to her for the work done). I’m sure it was a positive experience for them both.

We stayed at Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation thought it was a very good choice. Shuttles from airport and to port. Walking distance to shopping and food.
Agree on the Hampton Inn Plantation - we've stayed several times. Shuttle is complimentary both from airport and to cruise port. Very good rates as well.

Melia is farther away from the port and ship so gives you a much nicer island/beach setting. It’s so easy and fun to take the #10 bus to get there also.
My vote would be Melia - planning to go back when we cruise in September!

We’ve stayed at El Convento and enjoyed it there. On one trip we did an evening/night tour, sorry can’t remember the name but if interested I’m sure you could search for it. And yes, taxi to ship-right outside hotel.
Enjoy your stay in SJ and the cruise.

Have tried MTD twice and changed back to traditional after the first night.
Curious as to how long ago and what ship you’ve done this on?
I always thought once you had MTD you couldn’t switch back to traditional.
I think there are more spots now for MTD than traditional because my past few cruises I’ve had to take MTD. We prefer traditional for the reasons others state - to dine with others.

I was under the impression that a ‘hack’ was referring to the use of something in a different way than it was intended.
I see this as different than a tip — nothing to do with computers or referring to an old person. LOL [emoji38]

We’ve stayed there before and are staying again this September. A nice Hampton and the free transportation from airport and to cruise port is a plus.
We don’t have a lot of time to “tourist” the day/evening before our cruise, so it works well for our needs.
I always keep checking their price online and have rebooked when it has come down.

I thought I’d missed some announcement about this new feature. 🤷*♀️
I’ll add that I don’t care for it either.

I’ve always just copied and pasted into a Word doc. I’ve had to tweak it and then add my own things to it, often my whole travel itinerary. I know this isn’t an easy way, but not too hard.

If I remember correctly you have to scroll all the way down past the upcharge restaurants.
I could only do one night at a time - checkout - then start over. I’m sure there has to be an easier way. Lol

I’ve also seen several people bring those with the netting in the middle. They fold up in a circle style and usually come in a bag like case.

We didn’t remember the ‘within 30 days of booking’ rule and have missed that point.
Has anyone ever been able to redeem after that point?
Or... my brother/wife just booked, would we be able to redeem it for them?

While it is for up to 4 people we have used it for 4 even though there were only 2 in the room.
We didn’t realize the 4 stipulation until we went into JR. The server told us for the 2 of us to just order several burgers, etc. and share.
We did as instructed. [emoji6]

We’ve stayed at Hampton Inn, Plantation for one night before cruising from FLL. It’s a very nice area - not a jumping hotspot; very reasonably priced. There are other hotels in this area as well. They offer complimentary transportation from airport to hotel as well as from hotel to cruise port. Just a suggestion for an area.

This should be fun for you as well as those who would like to predict (when you’re ready [emoji6].) That shirt is very cute!

I am enjoying your writing style and your personal stories. Your last story did bring tears to my eyes for you as well as I feel the way your mother did and want my adult children to share my love of cruising.
I applaud your ‘moral of the story’.
