  1. Just starting to do research, and the biggest ships are Celebrity and Silvestea.  Would prefer Celebrity.  Has anyone done a tour to Galapagos?  If so, do you recommend inner or outer and which month?

Also, it looks as though gratuities aren't included.

Once I figure out if I want to do this, is it better to book online or through an agency?

As I just started my research, I would appreciate any guidance.

One last thing.  How is the flight from Ecquador over to Baltra?  I don't like small planes and Celebrity doesn't mention which airline they use (if I do their land portion first).

    Thank you all.

  2. Just got off the Princess Sun.  OMG what a ship.  We had the plus program and looking back, we wish we had upgraded to premiere.

That being said, we are supposed to be on Sapphire next year in Alaska.  As far as dining, is it worth it to get Premiere Vs. Plus?  It seems as though there are only two specialty restaurants, Sabatinos and the Brazilian One.  Am I missing any?  Also, I can't figure out what, besides Alfredo's, would be considered Casual on Sapphire.

By the way, we also had reserve dining on The Sun. We have a regular balcony room on Sapphire.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

  3. OK, I'll try to write this cohesively.

Going on Princess Sun soon.  I paid for three excursions starting last July with the last one being paid in February.  I used a combination of one credit card and onboard credit.  I had $200 from a promotion when I booked, and $100 OBC from my carnival stock.

About a month or so I booked my fourth and final excursion...and paid all of it with my credit card.  One month prior to the cruise, I called and cancelled this fourth excursion (I decided I didn't want to do it) and then jumped onto a waitlist for one I really want to do.

I kept checking my credit card for refund and it never came through.  I called a couple of times and they said, oh...it takes time, etc.  Yesterday, and again today I called and they said that the money won't be refunded to my credit card and that I still owed them money from the first three excursions.  How can that be?  Everything has been paid in full whether it was my credit card or OBC

They are now holding my money hostage and said it is now listed as OBC. It's roughly about $160 ($79 for me $79 for husband).  I don't want any OBC because I have Plus, I paid with my credit card for one speciality dinner.  I don't anticipate buying anything more on the ship.

Someone said "check your personalizer"....but when I go into it, it says I have a $0 balance for excursions.  It also said that I have $200 OBC for me, and $100 OBC for husband....but please remember that that $300 total was depleted a few months back to put towards the first one or two excursions.

What do I do?  Also, how come I can't see how much money I have in my OBC (aside from the original $300 that I just referred to).  Why don't I see $79 for me and $79 for husband?

I am so confused.  What do I do now?

As I mentioned I am on a waitlist for that fourth excursion, and I guess if that opens then my OBC will go towards that, but what if it doesn't?  Why can't they just refund my credit card?

  4. I found the persoalizer, which I guess I've always been using, but the rep said that I can find all of my excursions that I booked, and when I booked them and most importantly, how I paid for them....but the only thing I see are two wait listed excursions.

As far as my OBC goes, it still says what it was a long time ago, but I hit those up to help pay for previous excursions.   Why can't I see an actual up to date OBC account.  We got two $100 credits a long time ago when we booked, and then $100 in OBC for our stock this past February.

Aside from looking back into my credit card which will be easy to find, where the heck can I find when and how much I took out of my OBC to pay for excursions.  It's a mystery to me.

    Total Onboard Credits $200.00 $100.00 $300.00
    Shareholders Benefits* $100.00 $0.00 $100.00
    Onboard Credit Promotion* $100.00 $100.00 $200.00
  5. I cancelled an excursion one month prior to the actual excursion.  I have not yet been refunded (to my credit card).  I'm currently on hold now and the representative says that I can't be refunded to the card, and that it will be in in my On Board Credit.  Well, I don't want money in my OBC.  I have the plus package and have booked and paid for everything I need.  What is going on?  I can't seem to find the currently policy.  Their FAQ page just runs me in circles.

Update: They said that since I only paid X amount months ago on my credit card (paid the balance with my original OBC from stock and a promtion), they said that I owe them money?  *****?  Seriously?  My three excursions that I currently have and want, were paid for in a combination of $300 OBC (as I said, stock and promotion), the remainder on my credit card.  Why would I owe them money?  These excursions were paid for in advance.

  6. Like a dummy, I had one of those four rooms up the front on deck 14 (don't want to give out exact room number) but I got that upgrade bid thing in an email and I bid and "won" an upgrade to a reserve cabana mini suite. I should have realized that the cabana mini suite will be smaller than what my deluxe balcony was.  The onlyupside is that I can use that special cabana deck, a bottle of wine and the reserve dining room.

Has anyone actually been in one of those very unusual premium deluxe balcony rooms?  Would love to hear a review.  Thanks.

  7. My big was accepted on a cruise in the very very near future.  I came home last night and got the email of the acceptance.  However, they have not billed me, there is nothing in my cruise personalizer, nor has the charge hit my credit card.  I don't want to loose the room as I am assuming they gave up my old cabin.....what to do???😬

  8. Hello.  There is a $900 difference in price between two Cabana Mini Suites.  They are both for a Greece Cruise Tour in 2025

Without giving specifics, one Mini Suite Cabana is in the area of 12414-12426 and is Category: CA  and the cost is $9784 on the 12th deck

The other is a Mini Suite Cabana in the Cabana Deck area 9241 to 9321 and is Category C1 and the cost is $8886.

The one on the 9th deck seems to be the better choice, yet it is priced lower.  Why is the one on the 12th floor higher?  Is it because the "balcony" is on the sphere.

Also, is there a listing that describes all of the different Mini Suite Categories?  I've been Googling for the longest time and can't find anything.

    Thanks!!!
