  1. I think you can transfer a future cruise booking to a TA for more ‘perks’ within, I believe, 60 days?

Does that include transferring to the big ‘members only’ box store TA’s? Does anyone have any experience doing this? Thanks.

  2. I have never understood why a choice to be on a cruise ship with a toddler would be made when there are so many better choices to be had. For whose benefit is a cruise? Surely not the toddler.

    What ‘better choices’, exactly?

  3. Thanks for sharing. Yes it’s the 2 year old that’s a quandary.

It's fine for people to say that RCCL or Norwegian are 'great for families'...but not necessarily all families. The difference between a 2 year old and 3 yr old is gigantic, at least in terms of what you can do. It may be the most important age difference aside from legal drinking age. Essentially, with a two year old, there is little possibility of a 'break'. You cannot just drop them off at Fun Factory and walk away. The cabin babysitting at night is a nice idea, but it's pricey. The mega Norwegian and RCCL ships look fun, but are geared to older kids it seems... like 8 to 16.

I would suggest booking on the line that appeals to you the most and accept that this is a 'working vacation' where you don't have to cook or do dishes.

PS My tip would be to bring your stroller! It was a huge pain dragging it through the airport, but it was a life saver.

We ran out of diapers/pullups on the last day (of course) and found that we could buy them from Splash Academy (NCL) rather than the Duty Free shop (nobody tells you this). $38 at the Duty Free shop and $24 at the SA for the same thing. $24 was still way too much, but it was a saving.

  4. We are booked for next Feb on the Equinox with our 3 and 4 year old, and some of the comments make me concerned. I am really hoping they will go to Fun Factory willingly, and since they can go together, that should help.

However, we were on the NCL Gem this winter and thought the Splash Academy was not great. Our oldest refused to go. RCCL seems like overkill as they can’t really use he slides and there won’t be wall climbing. So, if worse comes to worse, we’ll download a ton of Paw Patrols and let them go to town...

  5. In the interim, due to the destruction caused by the storm we have altered the itinerary for Norwegian Gem cruise departing on February 3, 2018. Please see below for the ship's revised itinerary:
