I have a service from USPS that scans mail that is to be delivered to my home and sends me an email with the images of that mail.  Today, I found an image of a first class letter from NCL to be delivered today.  I can't even imagine what that would be as I have always gotten my correspondence from NCL via email.   Has anyone else gotten a letter via USPS lately?     I will be biting my nails until the mail is delivered today!!!

Your vehicle's warranty has expired and NCL would like to help you renew it.

Does anyone know if the 72 testing before cruise is like other cruise lines that if your cruise is Saturday then you can test Wed  , Thurs or Friday

Meaning the time dosent  matter just three  days before

The language is "72 hours before your sail DATE."

I keep overanalyzing it wondering if they meant something else but if they said date, to me that says 12:00 AM Wednesday if you're sailing Saturday.  At least I hope that's the case.

I can't see how they'd enforce embarkation/boarding time.  Like if they have long lines you lose the quarantine protection they're offering?  That'd be bananas.

  3. However many hours it takes for you to lose more than the 7 day cruise would cost NCL at their cost.

NCL is taking a little gamble of its own that it can get you to spend more in gambling losses and sunk cost fallacies on said free cruise than it will need to spend to get you to those tables.

The odds are very much in their favor.

Some possible useful information for those traveling the last 2 cruises to Alaska.  Icy Straight Point.  The gondola is down as well as the zipline.  The port personnel will not let you walk into town.  Claiming some covid crisis or such.  Juneau.  The tram is closed for the season.  Ketchikan.  Lumberjack show is closed for the season.  NCL seems to have ironed out the shuttle issues.  Lots of busses, short waits.  Lots of shops closed for the season and/or they could not find enough workers to open up.

New protocol.  If you are back to back you are required to take a covid test on the ship Friday morning.  If you pass, you get to cruise again on Saturday.  If you fail. you get tossed off in Seattle.

Hope someone can use some of that info.

Thanks!  This is very helpful.  It doesn't sound like there was much in town anyway and all the best views are going to be doing nature walks either by yourself or on a tour.

For Ketchikan, I hope there are enough people that are crazy like me to book the kayaking tour to eagle island.  I wonder how Creek street is but it's safe to assume it's probably pretty closed up.

You probably won't see many people leaving if many are from the east coast.

If you need me to show anything special, just ask.

I'll be posting everything on here pretty much. My wife hates it. She says between cruise blogs and Google reviews,  I have to document everything. Drives her nuts, but she still loves me... I hope lol

    Thanks!

Weirdly, I'm kind of curious of the route to get to the Bow when it's Glacier Bay day (assuming you go through 8 and past the theater maybe?)  The waterfront is probably the better place to be anyway.

If you happen to be in Galaxy Pavilion I'm curious about the escape room and if they still offer it + how much?  I was thinking about getting a CC group together after the M&G to take it on.

Normally I'd go for the cocktails. I had a long day, we just needed some food. Not sure I need a benzo....ever

Well good luck sleeping.  You have a busy day tomorrow.  Thank you for keeping the ship warm for us for next week.  I've ben vicariously cruising on the Encore to Alaska since August.

It occurs to me that I don't normally see people getting off the ship when I get on or off the ship when I'm leaving.  I guess everyone really starts getting in around 10 to board by 11-11:30 and by then all the other guests should be heading home.

Got off on the wrong deck this a.m. and found the Medical Center by accident.  Looks like examination rooms/isolation rooms if needed!

The refrigerated morgue is at the end of the hall on the right in case it's needed.  I envy you a little for being on the ship but I imagine the existential dread of it being your last day is like the weight of 100 Sundays.

  8. A ship doesn't provide the kind of luxury I'm accustomed to on land for far less money so I can't see myself justifying the expense unless I had an extreme excess of money and even then I'd probably rather spend it on St. Regis rooms and the free suite upgrades I get.

    No....

CAN I BUY DINNER FOR SOMEONE ELSE WITH MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE?

Specialty Dining Packages are sold individually and cannot be transferred. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will have to pay regular prices.

A solo guest only gets SDP for 1 person, not 2.

A server might look the other way but it isn't supposed to be done.

    I also have this though:

Can I still split the dinner for two vouchers if I am a solo traveller (two meals for one person)?

No, this benefit is delivered as two dinners for two per stateroom. Solo travellers get two dinners for one. You cannot split the voucher in to two separate vouchers and redeem the dinners on two separate evenings. The benefit is only if there are two guests dining on the same visit.

    https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/can-i-still-split-dinner-two-vouchers-if-i-am-solo-traveler-two-meals-one-person

So that seems to say yes?

That's what the old UDP use to be... and we didn't eat any meals at the MDR

If someone was traveling solo and has free at sea dining, could they use the extra dining credit for another solo traveler thereby doubling their specialty dining credits if you use each other's credits?  I saw on NCL's website it said you can get 2 entrees as an option but wasn't sure if the above scenario is an option or they have to be on the stateroom as #2.
