  1. Pool area was really hot so we retreated to the Solarium where we found a bench by an open window and a nice breeze. Not pictured the two Miami Vices with Kraken Floaters I drank. Bartender’s only put 1oz of alcohol total in a Miami Vice where as when I make them at home 3oz’s. I thought I would try a Caribbean Mule. I Really like the fact Royal uses Strawfish Biodegradable Straws. Let’s save the ocean from plastic please.
  2. I like that color too. One of my other Sea Dog tee’s is that color. Your Lobster tails look a little small too. Ours were small too so that’s why I ate 4.
  3. Go Pro 11 Hero sunset Timelapse. Too bad heading north on the starboard aft side could not get the sun but still cool anyway.
  4. The Hennessy Black was very good. For the price I really like the Remy Martin 1738 Acord. Great advice John. I also like the non connected via the balcony route. Nice thing being aft and having rooms across the hall from one another is there is not much traffic. I never see anyone in the hallway.
  5. Last day at sea. 😢 How nice it was to be led to our table we have had every night in the MDR. Now this is a first! Double Espresso served in a paper cup. What happened to all the Espresso cups? Brioche French Toast. I’ve had this almost every morning. It’s so good. Nice and hot too. Omelet with Ham, onion, mushrooms and cheese. Made to order. Very hot. I love it. One more breakfast tomorrow when we depart.
  6. Thanks Katherine that is a great idea to look into too. Obviously price would factor into it but I’m sure on an older and smaller ship it might very be cheaper than a single balcony on a larger ship. I’m sure itineraries factor into it as well. OMG this is awesome. Wish I had it last night . I’m going to download it now!!!
  7. Did it have the Sea Dog logo on front? I’ve never seen that one before. I like it.
  8. So how was the event? I got a flyer in my stateroom but it said tomorrow. So the. Ext day when about 25 we’re waiting and waiting and the doors to the theater were closed, thought this is odd. So someone went and asked and were told it was yesterday. The flyer had the date but who’s counting dates? Bummed I missed it.
  9. Linda and I talked about it last night. I will say it may not make financial sense on some sailings, but on this sailing a balcony and inside cabin was cheaper than our balcony on Symphony. Obviously easier on smaller and older ships. We said that this was like having a two bedroom suite. The ability to have two bathrooms, two closets, two desks and two sofas was huge for us. The only thing you have to be willing to accept is that your hallway from one bedroom to another is a public one. We even had guest services give me another key so I can easily go to her cabin without knocking even though we a code knock to let the other person know it’s us and not a cabin steward. We both slept really well and we will fo this again if the price is right.
  10. Ok one last one. If you pull this up full and then zoom in you can see how bright the stars are. There are millions of them tonight. I can’t help question Who are we? Why are we here? Is anybody out there? Why does my shoulder still hurt??????? Goodnight. Tomorrow is a sea day for our last day. I’m sad.
  11. Went down to the “R” bar for a nightcap. Somehow the blackness of space deserves this in all its richness.
  12. I wish all of you were here to be on our aft balcony. The stars look amazing. It’s a bright clear sky. I’m trying to capture it on the Go Pro with a 30 second shutter. It still doesn’t capture the beauty that I see. When you look up and see millions of stars it’s breathtaking. I feel so small yet so alive.
  13. It’s Lobster Night!! Always a crowd favorite Lobster tail night is something I always look forward to. Pre dinner cocktail always a Old Fashioned. Assistant Waiter Dwayne knows me and our reservation time. After I sit down within a couple of minutes a Old Fashioned is brought to me. Escargot again. I never tire. I also got a shrimp cocktail. No pic you know what it looks like. Tonight with the Lobster tail we went with the up-charge on a Chops filet. It’s not there big 9oz but it looked bigger than the petite 6oz. It’s a $16.95 up charge and comes with baked potato and veggies. Sorry for bad focus didn’t get the focus scare pushed. One Lobster Tail. Two Lobster Tail. And not pictured Three Lobster Tail and Four Lobster Tail. Yes I was a pig. I normally don’t eat that much but in a effort to give you an accurate reporting. Yes! you can have as many tails as you want. I’ve heard of people eating 6-8 tails no problem. And for dessert Warm Chocolate Moulten Cake with ice cream. It was like eating at Chops without the Chops price. This was our last dinner in the MDR. We will eat at Sabor on our final night. So final thoughts on the MDR. Remember I am not a food critic. Food taste is subjective. What I may like someone else may not. I thought every meal was very good. The only dish I did not care for was the Chicken Parmesan. Food was hot, well seasoned and served in a timely manor. The service from waiter Eka and assistant waiter Dwayne was outstanding. I hope I tipped them well. The ability to have the same waitstaff helps build not only a relationship but a friendship. We truly left the week feeling like we made new friends. We all agreed that we hope to see one another again. All the dinners were about an hour and a half from time we sat down to leaving. You don’t have to worry about leaving hungry. You can order as much as you want. Gluttony is encouraged here. You are paying for it so why not have it all. So last Month we had the UDP. How does it compare? It doesn’t, two different animals. The specialty restaurants serve a particular style of food where it may be Italian or Japanese. The MDR tries it hand at everything for the most part. Will I still go to specialty restaurants? Yes when I want that type of food. But if you want a good meal and you don’t want to pay extra the MDR or just eating in the windjammer may be your best option. In a future review I’ll do one on just the WJ. But until then, I was extremely happy with the food. The Main Dining Room has something for everyone. Come hungry and leave full. After all isn’t that what a restaurant should do? Ok what to do about a food coma? Cocktails?????
  14. Thanks I’ve been pleased so far. I need to do some more playing around. Sure is nice to take good pictures with something small that fits nicely in your pocket.
  15. Thanks for sharing your story. The ER doc says he sees this kind of thing all the time. I’m glad you are ok. I’ll be fine but it will take a little time. Linda will do most of driving going home. But I can drive with one arm. Wow your husband is a real trooper. Jury is still out when or if I will do my other knee. My knee was hurting today. I was so happy to sail on Liberty for one of her last sailings out of Galveston. She may be dated but she was clean and we experienced no problems. I would like to sail on her again.
  16. In 5 cruises on Royal Caribbean there is one thing that I have never done on a ship. I can now cross off “The Cone.”
