  1. For MTD the dining room opens at 6:45. The line is huge but moves. If you want to eat early best bet is Traditional but it will before 6pm. Not yet keep missing them. The gang is all here. Haven’t made it to the pub yet . Need to get there.
  2. Schooner bar with the gang. Sea Dog and Larry @Husky1987 Next on the list Irish Peach with Jamison, peach lemon juice, and bitters. Light, sweet and very tasty.
  3. What a Difference a Day Makes! So you heard our horror story of our first night in the MDR. Horrible service waiting an hour for our first course. Below average food. Told we could not bypass line for MDR and that the only way to bypass was to eat at 5:30 or 8:15. Linda went to GS and got in touch with the head of the dining room. She explained how it was hard on my knee to stand for that long and that we wanted a set reservation time with same table and staff in a setting that was a little more quiet because of my hard of hearing. She was told someone would call her. Today Royal (that’s his name on his badge but probably not his name) called and said come at 6:45 and ask for him. Upon our arrival he was at the host stand. We introduced ourselves and said he has a table ready for us. He took us to a better area not as crowded or noisy and introduced us to a great waiter Julia and assistant waiter Gabriel. They were wonderful. Very nice and conversational as opposed to our people last night. Service was impeccable and the food tasted better than last night. Royal also told us on our other nights we are booked in the MDR to bypass line and come straight to our table. This is what we have been able to achieve in the past. Now this is the Royal treatment. Buffalo Trace Old Fashion I have to have Escargot again. Calamari nice and hot and crispy. Roasted Beef Tenderloin medium rare and very good. Cappuccino chocolate cake with double espresso. I’m one happy camper. Thank you Royal for taking care of us. Moral of you don’t like something speak up, be kind but firm. They do want to please you.
  4. Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do. Formal night in the MDR.
  5. I’ll check the excursion desk tomorrow. Our JVD excursion was cancelled too so 4 of us are chartering a boat from Chillout Charters to take us to the Soggy Dollar. Not cheap but split makes it tolerable. They did it tonight. My time dining is a joke. The line was all the way out the entrance and wrapped around to the doors of the deck. We made arrangements with head dining manager and escaped all that. Thanks Mark!!
  6. Proof of life. Bella 1.0 alumni. Left to right: Dave and Jennifer @jmh2006 Greg and Linda @Sea Dog Den and Andy @Momof3gurlz
  7. Yes we all met up for the sail away yesterday and then in the Diamond lounge and later at Schooner Bar. Stupid me did not get any pictures. I’ll do better tonight. Have yet to hook up with @mo&fran but hope to soon.
  8. They will always be the San Diego Chargers to me. I loved traveling to SD for 12 years with the Chiefs. I love that city. You nailed it Bonnie! Their Time Dining. Yes I did take care of the dining room mgr. last time and I am prepared to do so this cruise. Waiting to see where we end up tonight.
  9. Lunch in the Windjammer Missed lunch in the MDR so we had to go to zoo I mean Windjammer. It was really crowded at 1:15pm only table available was for 5 but we sat down. A little later a couple asked if we minded sharing with them we said fine and it turns out they are from Kansas. City also. Talk about a small world. Food was ok. Linda had to wait for new burgers to be made. I did not get dessert but glad I didn’t as we had this nice surprise for us back in the cabin. Time for a nap then get ready for formal night and head to the Diamond Lounge for happy hour and then our second visit to the MDR which Linda got a call from manager and said we are to ask for Royal and that he will take care of us. We will see , fingers crossed 🤞 🤞🤞🤞
  10. This Kraken Colada with a Kraken floater is for all of you. Cheers!!
  11. Well I’m learning that the earliest you can book My Time Dining is 6:45pm the early seating for traditional is 5:30 and late is 8pm so it makes it difficult to try and schedule something earlier than 6:45 for my time. I hate the way they have structured the dining times.
  12. Well heck, I’m so close to Schooner Bar I might as well and stop by and get my vegetables. A spicy Bloody Mary.
  13. C&A Top Tier Event Always nice to greeted with a mimosa. Great to meet Captain Jaret from Canada. Numbers: Gold 838 Platinum 311 Emerald 154 Diamond 304 Diamond Plus 217 Pinnacle 36 Top cruiser Rita with 2393 points Special entertainment by the ballroom dancers in tonight’s show, Invitation to Dance. They were very good. Small but good crowd.
  14. Apologizes as I forgot who asked the question about the condition of Adventure but I can report that Adventure still looks amazing. The carpet is clean everywhere and I don’t smell any bad odors. Despite seeing a few rust spots on the balcony Adventure is in great shape. Yes it’s a dated design but I love these older ships.
  15. So @Jimbo got me thinking about this cabin/ internet speed and thought I would do an experiment for everyone. Here are my results. Balcony speed test. Very slow lots of enclosed steel. Cabin door closed. Better. Cabin door ajar slightly Ok that’s better Door propped wide open and yes I have clothes on! Now we are talking. Now in the library right by our cabin. Big winner! Now it’s great since our cabin is right next to the library but opening the cabin door does make a big difference. Science experiment is now officially over. You may resume your normal activities.
  16. Breakfast in the MDR Double Espresso warm not hot. Diamond lounge was so much better. Morning favorite Diet Coke Pastry. Just ok dry, what happened to the donuts? I liked getting a chocolate donut in the past. Eggs Benedict. Good but small compared to what I had at the Floridian restaurant. French Toast. Love it with brioche bread. Interestingly note, Linda got eggs, bacon and toast but the toast and jelly was not delivered until after she was through with her breakfast. Bad timing if I may say so. Is it too hard to deliver the full breakfast?
