See ya on the 21st, I'll be walking early morning somewhere. Did you join our rollcall, we have some activities.

Thanks, that's good to know!
Do they have music playing around the pool during sea days? Basically at the moment it seems like a toss up between adventure of the seas and carnival so i'm just trying to get as much feedback as possible.
Carnival does have some of the best poolside dining choices. Guy's burgers are the best. :D

I went into the Freedom buffet for a lunch time burger. Worst burger on the high seas, had the texture of rubber. They must grill them hours before and placed in the steam trays. MDR food was great !

Emerald Beach, have cab drop you off at EB Hotel.

Was it easy to get a taxi back to the port when you were ready to leave?
If there are no cabs waiting in the parking lot tell a staff member and they will call for one.

Nothing is truly "free" in Cozumel but this club is close to that. http://www.carlosncharliesbeachclub.com/

Labor Day is a US Holiday not the Bahamas.

They were very good but saw them on the FOS last Dec.

We have always gone to Dawn Beach, but are ready for a change. Where is Karakter Beach located. Tried to find on Google Earth, but couldn't find. Sounds like a good beach.
Simpson Bay next to the airport.

When we went to Alaska we went with Princess. On the 1st sea day they had a Naturalist who was very informative about what we would see and what sites to see. As we entered Glacier Bay the ship pick up a State Ranger who gave us info about the glacier. Don't worry about formal night just dress neatly as if going to church. The food was very good but entertainment was notall that good in the bars and lounges. The main shows were good.

Do you know if the taxis still charge the $8 or $10pp if there are 6 and you take the whole van? There will be 6 of us (4 adults, and 2 kids) so that makes each way to the beach $48-$60? Ouch. Plus admission, that turns a lazy beach day with kids into a $200 day :/ I was hoping to go to the beach for about half that....
I was just at Emerald Beach in February 2018, shared taxi was 6.00 p/p ea way. This is the closest beach from the pier. You will be dropped off at the Emerald Beach Hotel, walk out to the beach and pick out your lounge chair. Someone will come along to collect the rental fee for the chair or just place your towel down for free. There is a restaurant for food and drinks. If you are a customer they will let you use the restrooms. There was a few rocks in the surf which was uncovered from the hurricane otherwise its a nice beach that does not get crowded.

I was just at Vigie Beach February 2018 and the walk from the main cruise terminal was 25 minutes but I shared a cab ride back, too many painkillers. ;p Drinks were reasonable and the food was very good. I believe there was 3 beach bars, beach chairs and umbrella's were for rent. Two dollars to use the bathroom or walk across the street and use the free airport bathroom.

Happy Dance !! :tropical-drink::D

I have sailed on both ships and hands down I prefer the Freedom. So much to do onboard the Freedom vs the Summit. Entertainment on the Freedom is superior plus the ship does not close down at 10PM. There will be more cruisers in your age group on the Freedom.

We took a cab back to the airport and rented a car for the day.

Have your husband walk up to any bar and with his own card and buy you a drink.

At Coki the fish are just a few feet from shore. Sapphire will require a swim to reach the best snorkeling area. Magens is a no no for snorkeling. :D

If you want to be on the ship ASAP then get to the port at 11am. After checkin you will sit and wait until your number is called. If you want to deal with less lines and wait time then arrive around 1:30. Have fun !

On sea days what was the entertainment around the pools.

Thanks for the tip, I did not know gratuities increased. I think cruise lines should just include the gratuities in the base fare.

I walk through, smiled and said no thanks.

I have the 1st option with no issues. They work !
