Finally MSC have a new excellent user friendly website, in the UK at least. The best it has been since 2012, well done MSC ... 😀

Its just as bad.  Flashes up ‘not supported in landscape mode’ and then will only let me view it in landscape mode.  I had just got used to the old system as well ☹️

You are now allowed to bring ONE full or partial bottle of water aboard. This is at embarkation and at each port.

Not in Europ 😡.  We bought two litre bottles of water to take on board Spirit in Barcelona three weeks ago.  We were told at the gangway that we could either drink them on the spot or they would be confiscated.  Where did you find the ruling on taking a bottle on at each port?  Water was $5.50 a bottle on board (plus 20%) or there were water packages.  We chose the 6 bottle package at $14.99 (plus 20%).  This lasted us the 10 day cruise.  They sold water at the gangway at each port disembarkation but you were not allowed to bring any back on!

  3. We are doing this trip in April and it was sold in the UK as one cruise.  We did 14 nights on Poesia in Caribbean in 2017 and it was sold as a 14 night cruise.  However, when it came to Black card perks, it was treated as two 7 day cruises 🤔

We didn’t sail your route, but when we sailed in the Mediterranean, MSC didn’t advertise a self-assist option in the paperwork delivered to the stateroom the day before debarkation, which we sorely needed for an early flight home. So I went to guest relations and asked about it. First, the rep said that the earliest we’d be able to disembark would be with group 1, but after going back and forth, she confirmed that we could proceed to the debarkation point with all of our luggage and be off the ship as soon as they received the green light to go ashore. It worked out perfectly, and actually much better than when we’ve done self assist debarkation on cruises where it’s advertised as an option. We lined up about an hour before arrival, fearing a long line as we’ve experienced before, but only about 20 people showed up to disembark early. We were off the ship and on our way within 15 minutes of our arrival.

Thanks for that.  It would certainly save us time and we could be home well before lunch 🙂

Nor will you find any mention of it, other than someone else's experience.  As I explained before, each dining room caters for particular cabins and the number of occupants they hold.  Hence, if you are in a 'Wellness' cabin, the MyChoice dining room/area has seating allocated to that cabin.  It has nothing to do with Voyagers Club levels or what 'Experience' you've booked!

We've been upgraded twice now from Fantastica to Aurea and dined in the MyChoice restaurant each time.

Was it you who advised me before?  Not questioning your advice but seems strange there is no mention of this being the case with Wellness cabins when the online brochure I have certainly does state this is the case with Aurea balcony cabins.  Presume we will have a card in our cabin advising us of our dinner arrangements.  Currently our cruise personaliser is showing us as second sitting for dinner.

  6. Someone on another thread told me we could do anytime dining courtesy of being upgraded from a Fantastica balcony to a Wellness balcony (our only upgrade perk) but I can find no mention of this anywhere.  We are also black card holders.

Your expiry is extended to three years from disembarkation of your last cruise, your expiry will become April 2022 after your next cruise.

Thanks, thats good to know 😀

Things are always changing. As per what I understand from where I live MSC now is only status matching to black card, the top level loyalty membership members of their own land  hotel or air line partners. All the others are by the most part being given entry MSC club membership level which is gold card. TBHH, I absolutely agree with this particular measure in respect with all those whom like me have acquired some loyalty status "the hard way". I also understand the need to give some recognition to business partner loyalty membership programs. At least they need those partners to fuel their activity, so why not to recognize their clients fuelling their own activity? Have a nice day!...

We were status matched to Black in January 2017 courtesy of our Princess Elite status.  We sail on our second MSC cruise in April and are still Black but this expires in January 2020.  We are very grateful for this status match as there are a few very nice perks.  Not sure what will happen if we book another MSC cruise before the expiry date?

Yes ... restaurant seating is allocated according to cabin locations, so all those in cabins that are Aurea or Wellness enjoy the MyChoice benefit, regardless of what 'Experience' they originally booked.

Thanks for that.  We were a bit miffed that MSC upgraded us from our carefully chosen starboard fantastica balcony when we asked not to be moved. This Wellness balcony is on the port side which is not the best side on an Eastbound transatlantic but it is what it is now.

  10. Seems such a retrograde step to switch to this platform.  Its so much more time consuming to try to find things that I don't often bother to use it.  All my subscribed threads have gone and so will

    I be soon ☹️
