  1. I have a  Pride Go Go Elite  it is a small scooter that will carry 275 lbs the width is less then 21inches. I unlock the door and take the scooter out of gear and push it thru the doorway as it is easier to maneuver and does not take any strength to push when it is out of gear. Go to your nearest Walmart or any grocery store and drive the scooters for a while so you are comfortable driving it. People on the ship will be grateful.  You will be more comfortable going in and out of elevators too.

Omg, are you serious? Yes I meant fast pass. OMG, so now you have to pay extra if you don't want to wait in a long line for rides. Disney must be out of their freaking minds.

No Disney has just waited and watched Universal Studios  doing this for a few years now and people having been paying for this same as a fast pass but at a cost. It is all about money and crowd control.

We just came off the Carnival Pride on Sunday. I have taken my scooter on our last couple of cruises. I have a PRIDE GoGo Elite Traveler Plus Model. It fits the dimensions required so I can drive right into a standard balcony cabin. I drive through the entryway into the cabin and park in front of the sofa. I also turn the scooter around to exit the cabin. I do not require a handicapped accessible cabin as I also have a cane to use inside the cabin. I've learned to maneuver the scooter through the doorway; I've got it down to a science now. the only thing is my DH needs to come with me to open the cabin door, otherwise, I would need to exit the scooter, use a doorstop to keep the door open and drive through the doorway and that could be tricky because my balance isn't too good. I also remove the armrests from the scooter. I haven't taken it on RCCL yet so I can't comment on how it would work on that ship.

I also use a pride gogo and take the arms off.  I also have found if I am having trouble getting it manuvered in the door I turn it off and take it out of gear and it is really easy to push or pull  to manuver it.  I am not strong by any means it just rolls where you want it to go and keeps you balanced.

We are renting a 3 wheel transportable go go 21" wheelbase and have a central park balcony on the Harmony.  The bed is by the balcony and I understand that would be doable.

It sure will be but I would still use a scooter at the store for a while so you feel at ease kind of like driving get used to the car before you get on a freeway.

Look on your local Craigslist.org or facebook marketplace I was able to get my husband a nice travel scooter for 50 more than the rental for our b2b in November.  You won’t regret having one of your own it will allow you so much more freedom even after back home from cruise

Great suggestion I just bought a Pride GoGo 4 wheel it can carry 300lb and paid $350.  It will fit thru all the doors on a ship a 3 wheel is easier to manuver as it can turn on a dime.  be sure to go to stores and get used to driving one.  Also make sure you have good batteries if you are buying used. I also watched on Craigs list.  good luck

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has faced this problem, can someone help me out? I'm driving down from IL for a cruise in September and I am having trouble finding a way to get my mobility scooter to the terminal for the Carnival Horizon. If you've had this problem, can you help me out with what solution you got? I'm going crazy trying to find help. Thanks so much for your help.

In accordance with Florida Statute 316.1964, ONLY vehicles with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts, or foot or hand controls, for use by a person who has a disability, or any vehicle displaying a State of Florida license plate for disabled veterans Adobe PDF issued under s. 320.084, s. 320.0842, or s. 320.0845 or displaying the Florida Toll Exemption permit, is exempt from parking charges.

so if you are hauling your scooter on a lift or if you have ramps to take your scooter in or out and have   handicapp parking permit you wouldnt have to pay for parking.

There are scooters designed to be narrow to begin with, they give a couple of inches clearance for doors. The issue with regular cabins is the hallway width. To line up to get a straight shot at the door opening, your going to have to go back and forth 3-4 times to position the scooter to get through.

I try to get a room close to the elevators as the hall ways are narrow and some times you need to stop so people can safely get by.  I have used a gogo scooter that measured 21 in  it was hard getting into the room but not impossible  I just got off and lifted the back over to straighten it out.  they are not very heavy to just lift the back.  Yes the rooms are small and you may give up a little walking space but I would rather be crowded in the room and be able to take the scooter all day and be about the whole ship and ports .If it was a tender port I would stay on ship at least I was there not sitting at home cause I can't walk far.  Leave your armrests at home they make the scooter to wide.

Have you checked with any of the sellers of the Go-Go Elite and Folding?    I think you can get a basket as an add-on accessory.    But doesn't the Go-Go Elite Traveler come with a basket?

the go go elite comes with a basket you can also get a basket for in the back for about $85.  ihave a scooter and for on a cruise I take the arm rests off and leave them at home.  makes it easier to get in the doorway.  I also put a large bag on the floor of my scooter to put things in , works best if you have a 4 wheel.  measure your scooter at the bottom 2 back wheels or check your mannual for width . I have taken my 4 wheel on Holland America and Carnival ships in inside and balcony cabins and have not had a problem.  although on one cruise I removed my arm rests after I was on the ship and put them under the bed so they would be out of the way and they are probably there still today.

Not all hallways are wide enough to allow the scooter to be driven into the cabin...call the special assistance people to be sure you will not be disappointed...the scooter must not be stored in the hall....they can tell you just how wide the doorway is...and you need to ask about the hallway...i could not get the scooter into a cabin i was visiting on a princess ship...an eye opener....clearly the halls with hc rooms are wider...have a great trip!

If you can’t fit a GoGo scooter in the door way take your armrests off. If it still doesn’t fit it comes apart so easy and puts back together so easy don’t worry you can get it in the room. I have taken mine everywhere but not on Celebrity but they are only 19.5 inches wide at its widest spot.

Both scooters that I have had disassemble, however I never had to completely disassemble either one. The only thing I ever had to do was take the seat off so the scooter would fit in a vehicle trunk. It is rolled onto the planes upright, completely assembled. I only have to remind who ever is taking it to put it into free wheel and reset it. I keep the key with me.

My current scooter is the small Go Go which is one of the least expensive scooters on the market.

    Betty

i bought a used gogo from a rental company replaced the batterys and was good to go .  Best investment I ever made.

  11.  I have 2 GoGo scooters and they are both 21 inches. Doorways are 22 inches. I found it easier to remove the arm rests for going in and out of the room.  Last time tho I forgot them under the bed. This time I will leave at home.  My only problem was when housekeeping was in the hallway had to make sure their cart was against the wall so I could get by. I found the scooter fit ok in the room and was easy to plug in.

  12. I use a mobility scooter everywhere I go but I do not need to be 1st on the elevator after all I am sitting down and I am comfortable so I can wait> Especially after a long day ashore people are tired and need to get in and sit down me I am already sitting After awhile it is my turn people have never been anything but polite. Kindness can go a whole long way in this world and we need to all show more of it to each other. And since I am old and dont have alot of friends around me I find it is a good opportunity to talk to others even kids. Yup kids can be interesting too.
