    From many of your post on these boards you seam to enjoy what our family does too. We like to snorkel and enjoy the beach. We try to use public transportation in most ports without a tour. Can you give me any information on how to do this in this port???

    I cruised this port last month. We too got great deals but they always had to get just one more dollar out of us. They would agree on a price than when we would go to pay they would say it was more. Then we would start again to fight over the price. "You said $12:the store owner would say" no I agreed on $15!". Then he would say" ok $14, $2 for my daughters to go to school!." I agreed to the first store owner but after that-I got hard core with them. Do you want my cash or not?? I can go next door and buy what you have. Do you want my cash or not. If they gave me the guilt trip I went down the street. I was able to buy everything we wanted and what we wanted to pay. I agree they make me feel bad for wanting a decent low price.

    A steam is the best thing after a visit there.

    Has anyone done the add on boat snorkel with Bodden?

    I have used Victor many times, once with the add on snorkel trip from the boat. Each time we see the monkeys and snorkel from west End area. We enjoy the snorkeling except....the coral is very sharp and you have to be careful not to get cut up. You can stand in the water and see many, many fish. When we took the boat out the water was deeper and no troubles with the coral.With the young kids this would be perfect.

    You know your children. Can they swim off a boat and not touch the bottom? Are they younger and will be happy to see a few fish. Will they be happy just to walk the beach and plan in the water? Bring a cheep water toy from the $1 store for them.

    We did enjoy the boat very much. He was very honest man. We left our camera on the boat. He called Victor and told us he had it. He made sure ( a friend of his) got the camera to us before we got to the ship.

    This company is the best.

    Bodden Private Tour -- What to do?

    Do not pack to much into your day. Most ships are only on the Island a short day. Remember you need to get off the ship and walk up the hill to get to Victor. If we dock at 8am we plan to be off the boat and to meet our guide by 9am. It is a 1/2 to 45 minutes to monkeys or the beach. Ship deports at 3, need to be at ship by 2:30 so need to leave beach by 1:30 due to traffic. This makes your day to see monkeys, snorkel and get something to eat to about 4 1/2 hours. I have no idea how long zip line takes but if you add that in with the monkeys it gives you very little snorkel time and time to eat.

    My advice is just plan a few things each visit,

    all of Victors guides will be fantastic. Being a guild for Victor is one of the best jobs on the island. The guides want to keep a job with Victor so......they will do the best they can to make your vacation wonderful. Learn a little bit about the island before you go. Most guides like it when you show up knowing the basics( color of flag, population, how close to the main land ect....). It gives you something to talk about.

    We have used the same guide every time we are there. We now quiz him about his Island. We try to stump him!!!! Most guides will know a lot about the USA because of school.

    We have taken this cruise. Yes it is a party cruise. The pool and water slide were to cold to use. All of the kids were in the hot tub. There are plenty of places to go to stay away from the party group. Yes we heard the party people come in late at night but.....we new they would be loud.

    We had a great time on this short cruise. We play games, putt putt, read in a window seat and enjoy being a family. A cruise is what you put into it.

    If you are worried about the cruise---there is so much to do in the LA area for a few days instead.

    Have a great vacation what ever you do.

    Fort Lauderdale to Miami

    I have used SAS three times in the last 2 years. Twice I have had troubles. The first time he left us at the port. When I called to ask for our pick up he gave me so much lip about not making a confirmation with him. That I could not just call up for a pick up. They had already left the port for FLL. When I told him I had a confirmation email in my hand he asked all types of questions about it. I did not make it up---I had an email. He asked who emailed me back...Wellllllll... it was Him, the person on the phone! So he did send a van back to us but we had to wait for it to come back from FLL and then we drove around to drop off and pick up from hotels in Miami. When all was done he drove us to FLL. He did get us to FLL but....it took a long time.

    The next cruise we did not book a return ride from POM to FLL. We get a rental car and spend the day before our late night flight home. Well this time we got 3 phone calls after our cruise asking where were we??????? He was driving around waiting for us. Again he was upset with me for not being out front. I understand they work hard, have a lot to remember and do us a service but......we work in a service job too. We like to be " Wowed" when we go someplace. We try to give the best service everyday to everyone. I should also get it when I pay good money for a service. So this time we will try MJS Transportation. I will write a review when we are done.

    Grand Cayman - Tiki Beach Seven Mile Getaway

    You can take the city bus here for $2.50 PP each way. Drinks cost a lot on this Island. It might be cheaper to drink on the ship! We take the city bus to Cementery Beach and snorkel for free. After that we walk back to Tiki Bar and get the city bus from there. I am sure you can google Tiki Bar for prices.

    We cruise out of Miami. When we return I have a rental car for the day. We will drop off the rental car in Fort Lauderdale. We would like to spend the day at the beach in fort Lauderdale then head to the airport. Please can someone help me with were I am going. Where is a nice beach in Fort Lauderdale. Where do I park, how much to park and where can we get lunch???? If you could help me to plan my day-it would be wonderful.
