True. When I've flown to FL for a cruise because I go early I end up not really doing much unlike when I go to Europe when there are things to see and do.

I also have to go through Toronto which is a pain in the butt. I've started going from Detroit when I can.

I have an Apex cruise in July, I'm leaving a few days early from Windsor at 10am (so need to be at the airport earlier) - my flight out of Pearson is 8pm. So get to spend the day working from the airport as I don't want to take a vacation day to sit at Pearson. Once in London I can see friends, hit markets I used to go to, go shopping etc.

Coming back I have a 5 hour connection because Air Canada were trying to give me a 1.15 min connection which is not possible between AC always being late and customs

interesting - coming from the UK I feel that about transatlantic - love doing them but FL as a destination gets tired real quick - end up looking at breaking the flight up on the way back instead.  Strange to sail all that way to then fly back for a break so close to home but one can get good deals doing so.

I have heard that Disney is the only line that discourages it.  They don't forbid it, just discourage it.  I don't see the harm in spreading joy.  If other's don't like it, they don't need to participate.  Just my opinion.

Marella also doesn't like it but have only said that in response to being asked - carnival have also made a statement.  My view is it is fun as long as it doesn't go over the top (e.g. when one person bring loads and loads), when they are eco friendly and when care is taken hiding them.

We will be Ducking on our March Mexican Riveria Cruise.  I've never done it before.  It will be fun.

Be aware that I have recently heard that some cruise lines are saying 'no' to people doing it now.

Oh yes , they don't want to do the work and then add TIA.. so I ignore anyone who can't be bothered to at least thank a person who puts time and effort into doing the work. I think ' thanks in advance ' is rude!

the other one that I don't like is when people don't even ask a question but give a command instead - such as 'Flip flops in the MDR - discuss' or one I saw recently - 'I have been considering upgrading to aqua - convince me' - I mean to keep the topic relevant -

'posting quiz answers is helping others cheat - tell me I am wrong' (this is an example please don't tell me as I don't think its true - I think it builds community and is helpful)

There's Ze (1000), Zen (1500), Zeni (2000), Zenit (2500).  All with no benfits.

I think the 1500 level has got benefits - something to do with inner peace and reflection - haven't got there yet and am so f@£$%^g angry about it.

@omeinv/Harris.....you are SOOO right! People don't/won't read the thread before asking a question. I find this prevalent on many platforms. I belong to a Facebook group about an AI in the Caribbean and it is the same questions posted over and over and over again. Unfortunately (on that particular group) I feel that people don't want to put forth any effort to help themselves by doing the research, so will post a question instead expecting others to spoon feed them the answer (things like, "what is the weather like in December", "will it rain during my stay", "what room is the best").

you missed out 'can you wear shorts on formal nights?' and 'what do you do about tips?' and the infamous 'do you book direct or use a TA?'
