Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation

No, most drinks at Cafe Al Bacio are covered under both drink packages (except a few alcohol ones over the drink package limit). -
Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation

I thought you said you can’t recall what it said when you booked but that it was what you saw in your cruise planner that lead to booking three other rooms. -
Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation

With non-alcoholic drinks that are not covered like energy drinks, you pay the full amount unless you have the premium drink package. Paying the difference only applies to alcohol drinks over the drink dollar limit. -
Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation
prmssk replied to j0hnnyb0yyyyy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I'm a bit puzzled because I'm pretty sure the website has never shown all the zero proof beverages as being included in the classic package. (They haven't actually changed the package.) Where the confusion lied was in the cruise planner which you can only see after you book. That is the only place I've seen the classic package show that everything in the zero proof package is included. I agree the incorrect information in the cruise planner is a problem but it's not something you would have had access to when deciding whether to book. -
Is Hawaii so expensive that cruise is a good option?
prmssk replied to gordylad's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Absolutely it does depend what you want to do but car rentals aren’t cheap and many places have entrance fees. We are renting a car for the pre cruise days and those days aren’t any cheaper than our excursion days at other ports. -

We are booked on the Eclipse this May, Honolulu to Vancouver and will be staying extra days at the beginning in Waikiki. You can get hotels a few blocks off the beach which are a lot more reasonable. What has been the biggest sticker shock for us is excursions which will affect a land trip or a cruise. And going through private excursion companies often doesn't save a lot more than ship excursions. In the end, I think it will be worth it but it will not be cheap. Also, looking at all we packed into our schedule, I'm really glad we are starting in Hawaii so I will have all the sea days at the end to recover. -
Maybe they stayed on deck 3 which is really the only deck that has both public spaces and cabins. Otherwise the statement about cabin hallways being completely separate from the public areas doesn't make much sense. The review doesn't seem to be written by someone who knows a lot about cruising.

They still use the credit card style key card although some ships also have the option to use your phone.

Where are you seeing this on the website? What does your invoice say? Did your upgrade to a guarantee suite an AI fare?
-
Where were they charged to your account? What type of gratuities? The daily gratuity charge is usually included in Retreat bookings but if for some reason you have a cruise only fare, they wouldn't show up on your account until you board (unless you proactively pre-pay them). Gratuities for the drink package should be included with the All Included fare. If you book specialty dining, there would be gratuities added on to that. Spa purchases would also have gratuities added on.

If you have fixed dining, you likely need to call to do it. Otherwise, it is easy to do yourself in the app which should allow you to make anytime dinner reservations and even shore excursions for all of you and even check in for all of you. I was able to do this easily on the Constellation in the fall and for our upcoming Eclipse cruise.

Check out the Move Up thread that is stickied to read people's specific experiences. But to answer your question, it can happen anytime between when you bid until about 3 days before you sail and I have even heard a few times where people found out on embarkation day. 33 days out is still very early to hear back yet.

NCL's newest ship was the first in a class so it was a brand new design. There is a higher chance of there being issues when it is a design they have never done before. With the Ascent being the 4th ship in the class, they have had chance to address any major design issues. We are booked on the Ascent for early 2025 and really looking forward to it.

Inside to concierge for $75.00 per day?
prmssk replied to travelloverontario's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It looks like a great deal but it really depends on your budget, the itinerary, and whether it would affect your ability to afford shore excursions or other add-ons for your cruise. I have one cruise coming up where shore excursions and our pre-cruise plans have cost us so much, I wouldn't be willing to pay anything for an upgrade. -
Yes, there is $100 per person fee to move a NRD to another cruise. I personally am not willing to pay a huge premium just to avoid that $100 pp fee in the rare occasion I might have to cancel and transfer to a new cruise.

I use this e-mail address to let them know ahead of time about my dietary restrictions: special_needs@rccl.com The same Access Department handles both Celebrity and Royal.

On the Silhouette, yes. Celebrity offers both fixed (early/late) or anytime dining. If you choose fixed dining, you get the same table and waitstaff each night.

I am not aware of any significant changes to Celebrity's MDR menus. There have been some complaints about certain dishes disappearing but they did not do a full revamp like Royal recently did. The only changes Celebrity has made to the buffet have been to the dinner buffet. I am allergic to dairy and Celebrity has always taken very good care of me. My last Celebrity cruise was November. I'll be back on Celebrity in May and am not worried. I have also cruised Royal since they revamped their menus last month and they did an amazing job making me foods I could eat. I do try to eat in the MDR as much as possible because I know they have a lot more options for modifying foods there than the buffet.

When will Summer 2025 cruises be announced
prmssk replied to marvelous35's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Based on timeline for summer of 2024 cruises (and previous years), I wouldn't expect to see them announced until late November/early December. -
There is no wrong answer here. Once you have paid your auto gratuities (or had them included in your fare), it truly is a personal decision that is going to be based on the specific service you receive, how much you value that service, and your own tipping philosophy. Follow your heart and don't forget to also mention those crew members in the survey and any comment cards (something crew often value even more than cash tips).

Paying Cash Gratuities Directly to Staff?
prmssk replied to radarcruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I've seen a few videos and I agree. The only "gifts" I will ever give a crew member is cash and positive mentions on comment cards/surveys. And I definitely won't be handing out anything religious to people who may not share the same beliefs. -

Did you catch the thread on this board about gifts (in the last week or two)? I'm pretty sure that is where @Pinboy's comments about uplifting scriptures came from.
