Ah... It was Explorer, not Shadow in SA..
I did hear of possible of the Explorer cases.
Yep AFR is a pay for..
Our media is clamouring for any cover cruise stories for obvious reasons

I also saw a press account of 4 cases in South Australia.
I think you will find they were part of the Ruby Princess cluster. (I may be wrong) Love a link to the article if you have one.
Our press has been pretty heavy on naming exactly which cruise ships and how many. The only stories about Shadow have been about the Aussies who were trapped on board.

I think they are being optimistic with Muse.
The conditions say capable of carrying less than 500, not less than 500 on board.

Sending hopes and prayers...

Hopefully you will fit the seniors cireteia which woolworths and coles have done for home delivery only.
If not, places like Hello Fresh and Marley Spoon still have delivery going.
The last option I guess is menulog. Many of the smaller places like butchers and fruit shops are doing limited local delivery.

Hello all, I am the 2nd passenger that was taken off ship. Reports and results have been very confusing. The ship told me my test results before the drs did!! I'm very shocked at that. I did not have appendicitis symptoms. I had high fever and abdominal and chest pain.
An earlier message said that if they had had temp of 40 C they would not have been able to lift a finger let alone sed a message.i can ay that at that point I was hallucinating and it took several days before I was able to send a message and then it was to the first person in message list. She then got information to others and they were then able to contact my sister.
I am sorry that the ship is in lockdown but at least you have food etc. I have only meals that have gone cold before I get them, no coffee, no tea. Just bottled water to drink and it is room temperature. I'm getting IV antibiotics and they make me feel sick and I'm alone. Few nurses speak english so it's a lonely time for me. I'd love to hear Moss's voice.
Now that I've found this forum I'll check in regularly. Best wishes to all of you, esp the lovely people on our trivia team.
Roma
Your not alone,
Everyone on the board is with you even if not physically.
It's good you are starting to feel better, not so good about the cold meals or room temp water. Hopefully you keep an internet connection.
I'd love to stay and chat but I'm right at the beginning what will be another chaotic day at the coalface juggling changes and making personalised adjustments for everyone in my workplace affected by this "little bugger"
Get really well soon!

Captain announced this morning we are cleared for Sydney tomorrow. Not sure of the time due to port congestion. No noon update. We are going full speed at nearly 19 knots. Angry seas with huge waves. WCers awaiting flight details, hopefully NLT 3/19. WCers with lots of SBC have flooded the shops on deck 5.
Would love to come down and wave hello
I'll send virtual instead
Need to put out bushfires on the work front

Maybe self isolating here may be a good option 😉

That’s my biggest fear. They’ll only allow the Australians to disembark and to head to self isolation for 14-days, while keeping all other foreign nationals on board the ship and sending them away.Lets hope they go "Oh you guys have been afloat on a boat for 12 days and all clear"... lets put you in dock isolation 2 days then release.
You will be in more risk flying home than the risk you bring in :(

She'll be right
Can't use Walkabout
It's your shout though

They did say bespoke arrangements for Australians...
They may debark them and then send you away...
Highly unlikely they will let everyone off 😞

I have suggested to our TA to speak with Silversea and swap Muse itineraries with those of one of their smaller ships, so the Alaska season isn't lost. I am horrified with the cavalier way these Governments wish to put the whole cruise industry out of business.
I don't think you quite understand the impact of infection on our countries with small populations and free public health. We don't have the facilities to treat people in this situation. We are trying to slow the growth. The rural hospital Miss W is at is 325 beds for a town population of 65000 and if including those in the areas surrounding 155 000 (and that includes mental health beds etc) With the average of 10% of population needing ICU they are in deep. Many specialists are FIFO. They know they wont cope.
It's not targeted at cruises. NZ is aimed at all travellers. It's going to hurt their economy big time so i don't think they are worried about targeting the cruise industry,. its so bad they canned the cricket!
I feel awful for everyone who has their holiday disrupted or cancelled.

While the travel lounge certainly counts for being in Singapore, what does it matter? Is Australia banning entry to all foreigners traveling from Singapore? I thought it was just mainland China the Aussies stopped all entry from on Feb. 9.Currently discussion here with the outbreak going local transmission in Singapore to ban flights
Muse has a designated children’s activity area or at least it did for our pacific cruise in January. It looked like a pretty permanent set up. It’s labelled activities room

Yes you should be able to see harbour and CQ make sure you request a high floor to get a better view.
-
Disembarked at White Bay in January
What a nightmare! Took us over 45mins and only 500pax on board.
You should be OK if only ship in port..

Crew safety
in Silversea
Posted
Except that, in many cases the cruise lines have been granted one slot in a port. Think of what happened off the coast of Sydney not too long ago...
Crew were swapped between several different ships of different lines in order to get them to a suitable port for their repatriation.
SS crew were fortunate in that the company put them on their own ships and majority of the crew would know one another.
I'm not going to weigh in on allegations etc because TBH all anyone here gets is the POV of someone else so in that regard discussion is a moot point. If crew are truly that unhappy with their employer they can always fight to get another job.
