  1. We got a random free upgrade from a balcony to a suite....but that was 15 years ago and havent ever gotten a free one since!

We got an upgrade on Inspiration about 10 years ago from OV to Jr Suite.

We've accepted a couple upsell offers since then.

But now, they are miserable offers when they come. Upgrade from OV to Balcony for $500-600 on Paradise.

    To hell with that!!!

  2. When you are in a cove can you feel the breeze? It just seems that when seated you wouldn't be able to see the water at all. I will say a silver lining and one reason I did not want an assigned cove was the possibility of being below the galley and this one is just barely in front of the galley so there is that.

So you've read a few too many anti-Cove posts? Don't let other peoples perceived issues ruin your trip. We have become Cove converts and will take the Cove anytime over a regular balcony.

Just go with it and see for yourself.

Oh BTW, you have every right to feel angry if you wish. That anger doesn't mean you are right or wrong. It just means there is a difference of opinion and hopefully you can work it out.

  3. snip from article at link:

] Holland faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a potential lifetime of supervision.[/font]

Highly unlikely he will be venturing out any where if he's ever released from prison. I wonder who gave him the black eye? Doubtful it was Security, they are some what lax on cruise ships.

His hair style and beard certainly changed between this photo and the one in the article. I wonder which was taken when?

  4. In all honesty, if they were to stop circulating the paper version of the Fun Times, it would be a deal-breaker for us. My wife carries it with her and consults it several times throughout the day. We don't use the App and have no interest in trying to read off the little iPhone screen.

Normally I roll with the punches of their various changes, but the Fun Times is an important part of our cruises, so it really would turn into a deal breaker if stopped from print.

  5. If you show up before embarkation begins, you'll board in this order, weddings first, diamonds next, then Platinums, then everyone else boards according to their times! So you'll usually be in he first 100 to board the ship!:D

Don't forget the FTTF people who should board after the Plat's, but there are always some that are too good to wait their turn.

  6. We drive from north of Charlotte NC for every cruise. I usually get home from work, eat dinner, pack my bag, and take a nap.

Then we drive from 12AM (it varies) timed out to reach the IHOP at Exit 3 in Georgia at 6 or 7AM. After a nice breakfast, we drive the rest of the way to the port.

This allows for time lost in traffic, breakdown, etc.

I am pretty much awake all day on the ship, but sleep like a baby on that first night!

  7. We eat in the MDR most nights. We sit at a private table (just family and cruise mates) and it's a way for us to break bread and casually discuss the days events and our plans for the evening. The Lido is just too busy for that.

That being said, there are the rare nights when we just don't feel like having the MDR experience. We let our party know that we're skipping dinner and we just graze the Lido and the pizza place for light food.

  8. Since your cruise is short term, you can use the tap water from the bathroom in your CPAP. There's no need to carry or buy distilled water.

Definitely heed the other posts about brining an extension cord. It's a must have, even if there are some RARE times it's not needed.

  9. To the best of my knowledge, all of the ships' dining rooms have two levels. One level is accessed on Deck Three, and the other level is accessed on Deck 4. And all ships have two dining rooms, one forward, off of the Atrium, and the other is Aft. In one of those dining rooms, one level (probably Deck 3) will be for ATD. The other level (probably Deck 4) of the same dining room will be for fixed dining times. On some ships, ATD will be in the forward dining room, while on other ships it will be in the AFT dining room.

Nope... See Fantasy class deck plans. One floor.
