Is this the hippie bus?   It is in the Retreat, but not by the bar.

No, it looks more like it could be the stable for Mr. Edge. :classic_unsure:

It is not really in the Retreat, I think, because it is aft of the Edge Villas.  Or does the Retreat area start that far back?  If it does, that would certainly add a lot of area to the Retreat.

  2. Marilyn -

Do you know how long she will stay in Ponta Delgada?  Is your BFF, LLP, staying aboard or flying back from there?  And, if she stays for the full crossing and arrival at PE, would that be working or a vacation?  It would be so difficult to have to do all that hard work, wouldn't it?  Poor thing.  She will be so exhausted by the time they get to PE.  :classic_huh:

I'm waiting for details. There may be some facts lost in translation. The Club ceiling was mentioned as well in the same message(?!). Apparently the cabins above it are making noise that exceeds (what is acceptable).

Well, that's probably only fair... I'll bet The Club makes quite a bit of noise that affects those cabins above it, too.

    I think you're correct.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this.  Apex is already planned and in construction.  She will probably be very much like Edge, except for easily changed items such as decor.  Basic engineering and construction are not so easily changed.   [Don't forget, she may not have a Mr. Ed(ge)-type horse.  Possibly a King Kong-type Ape(x)??]

That being said, it is much more likely that Numbers 3 and 4 will benefit from feedback on Edge, because they are still in the planning stage.  Maybe they will be Edge 2.0 versions?

Nice idea, hcat!  It would be good to have a place where people who are cruising the Edge, or have just returned, could share their impressions, pictures, videos. Any further ideas are welcome!

I will be starting a LIVE thread of my adventures starting Nov 24th (when we arrive in FLL). I will hopefully have a video to share of my grand entrance onto the Edge: I don't want to ruin the surprise, but it will involve a horse, a polar bear and some maple syrup....:classic_rolleyes:

Oh, VT, please be careful!  You KNOW bears have a sweet tooth!

He might be happier on an S-class ship, with the Lawn for grazing :classic_wink:

Oh, noooooo, we would have to change his name!  Somebody better keep an eye on him on December 9th, when Edge and Silhouette are both in port in Ft. Lauderdale, so he doesn't jump ship!  Wow.  I didn't know he was a jumper!

Then again, does a statue of a horse really need real grass when he can have his choice of all the decorative fake plants and trees on Edge?

I like the way you think! I should let you help run the store.

I will order a mug too and mouse pad and maybe some postcards and maybe......

Oooooh, I would be honored to assist you in your mercantile efforts!  And, let's face it, if I were to be there to help, you could leave the store earlier and start exploring and enjoying our wonderful Edge without worrying about your profits getting deep-sixed, or losing precious Edge Time, since I am not sailing on any of those early voyages.  You do realize, of course, that most of us will be living our Edgie Dreams vicariously through you?  We need more Edge Time for you so you can pass all the oohs and ahhs on more quickly to us unfortunate land lubbers.  Just sayin'.....

That's what I wondered. I am going to have a t-shirt made with this picture - hope it comes in time!

I wonder if you can get the lettering out of the photo... or maybe find a different source for the pic without the writing?  Other than that, it would make a wonderful t-shirt!  A very good item for the dockside pop-up store !  Or maybe put it on a coffee mug? At the very least, a postcard would be good.

  9. Esprit, the next time you communicate with Valentina and your SIL, please let them know that we are all concerned about how things are going for them out there on the high seas (literally!) and ask her how Mr. Edge is doing out there on the Atlantic?  I bet there are lots of us who are concerned for their well-being.  And maybe she can find out where our unofficial mascot will reside permanently.

I wonder if they are going to have a contest to see if we can put these panels in the correct order, so the people's legs are under them, not down the row, etc.  This looks like the ending of a bad horror movie with chainsaws, machetes, etc.  And, yes, I know it is art.  I am sure they are beautiful in person, but they just look jumbled up and misplaced.  Sorry.

Could not edit, so here is my follow-up to this post:

Somehow the posts from everyone about these panels, and the photos of the panels from the Summit did not show up before I posted, so my comments are probably not as meaningful as originally meant.  However, I still think they would look better in the correct order, even with damaged ones, which I am sure X can afford to have repaired/restored.  Changing art from classical to contemporary is not always a good idea.

Normandie  - I can't wait to see that restaurant!

    "Normandie Restaurant

With ties to our elegant Murano specialty restaurant on many of our ships and a nostalgic nod to Celebrity Summit® (wooden panels from the ship are incorporated into the design), Normandie Restaurant features contemporary French cuisine in a modern, upscale, refined space that evokes the romance of springtime in Paris."

Thank you for finding and posting that video. My heart was racing with excitement as they guided her out.

I am still trying to find a vantage point to view her arrival at Port Everglades. This state park opposite T25 may not be the place.

Because I am on the West Coast, I do not have first-hand information, so would you please tell me why you think the State Park would not be good?  If I have the opportunity to do so, I would love to drive over to see her arrive, and thought of the park as a good place.  If I need to find an alternative, it would be so much easier to know beforehand.  Thanks for any info you care to pass on.

  13. Ok, not to sound panicky or anything, (well ok, maybe a little) on myshiptracking.com it shows that she has not changed in over 12, almost 13, hours.  Where IS she?   Does anyone else see this, or am I on the Edge of having a computer meltdown?  This used to happen when I was watching on the ShipSpotting.com Live AIS ship tracking app, but I figured it was them, not her.  Now I am not too sure.  :classic_sad:

    UPDATE:

I FOUND HER!  Well, at least now I can see where she is, which is off the coast of Spain, tracking just behind Silhouette, who is now SW of her.  I gave up on the two tracking apps I was using, and tried vesselfinder.com, and Voila! There she is!

I hope the weather is not too horrible for our ladies, and they they both have a safe voyage.

I just checked the closest reporting Buoy (about 50 miles away) and the measurement is 14 ft wave heights.  Hopefully Mr. Edge is well secured.  The ship is facing a 19 knot head wind so the head wind is about 38 knots or 45 mph.

That will definitely be a good test for the crew to see if they are as seaworthy as their ship!  Hang on, Mr. Edge!

A sound that is very sweet to our ears, for sure!  Can't wait to hear her in person!  I hope she didn't spook Mr. Edge (Pedgesus)!  He needs ear protectors to match his new coat!  (Maybe something like they hang around the neck of the horses outside of P.F. Chang's with a head/ears covering added?)
