  1. Thank you for your review, I enjoyed reading your comments coming from a first-time cruiser. Each line has its pros and cons, but I do enjoy the Celebrity ships. Definitely try other lines to see which one fits best. I have sailed Royal Caribbean, NCL, and Carnival. FYI, if you have a concierge class cabin again, you can request a fruit or cheese plate instead of the daily canapés.

  2. This is on the Edge, but the set up will be the same. The first one is the 1/2 cabana, the second one if the full cabana. On the Beyond, the cabanas face the pool, on the Edge, they face away from the pool.

  3. For Eden definitely do the tasting menu. It is the same price as long as you do not do the wine paring. The food was outstanding. I was not fond of the choices on the second section so they allowed me one substitution. I thought they would be smaller portions but they were not. For the Rooftop Grill, the steak was fantastic.

I second the rec for one of the "sideways" interior Havana cabins -- 5205 or 5208. We just got off of Vista in 5205 and that layout makes it feel so much bigger than the regular interiors! They book up way far in advance, though -- You have to jump on them quick!

I was in 5208 and it was the best cabin. I loved the layout, and it was so close to everything. I never heard a peep from the Havana bar.

  5. Please don't book a solo and try to add another person later. If the lifeboat is at capacity, you may not be able to add another person to the room, even if it is a two-person room. If you book the second person TBD, you can always remove them. When I book a TBD, I do not prepay gratuities until I know if a second person is cruising or not because you will pay for two.

Can you get the tasting menu at Eden without the wine pairing?  Is there any additional charge for just the tasting menu?  I would hope that the portions were smaller for each course!  TIA.

Absolutely, I had the tasting menu without the wine pairing earlier this month. There is no additional charge for the tasting menu, but there is if you add the wine pairing. I would have thought that the portions would be smaller too, but they were not. I had to roll myself up the stairs and flop into a chair for a bit. That was a lot of food. I also was not fond of the choices on course #2, my waiter allowed me to substitute something from course #4. The whole meal was just outstanding. I asked for a table facing the kitchen, and it was fascinating to watch. The entire tasting meal took about 2.5 hours.

Lets be clear. The 'Infinite Balcony' is not a balcony.  Don't let Celebrity gaslight you.  A balcony is a 'platform projecting from the wall of a building' or in this case, a ship, usually fronted with a railing.  You can still be a fan of an extra room with a sliding window, but lets be realistic and not call it a balcony 🙂

Let's be clear - it is called an Infinite Veranda. You can call it an infinite balcony if you want to. As with almost everything else, book one if you want to or book another type of cabin if you want to. Some people like them while others do not. There is no right answer, just personal preference.

  8. I love the infinite veranda. I use it way more than a traditional balcony and I like the floor to ceiling view in the room. My last one was locked once while during washing. That was the only time. Some people chime in with rumors and saying they hate them but have never sailed in one. Unfortunately, others looking for opinions listen to them and have false information. Try one for yourself. Some people like them while others do not. You have to decide for yourself.

We have sailed concierge 4 times and on each occasion, found the service provided by the concierge excellent. More often than not found very near our room, when needed and not nearby, a phone call and they quickly appear.  Didn’t use them for any other reason than wanting different pillows, tv not working once, stuff like that. They’re always very polite, go out of the way to shout hello from wherever they are, and often rushed to open our room door for us. Minor things some might say but all helps towards the overall experience of being made to feel special.

That sounds like your stateroom attendent. The concierge is an officer level with an office on the 3rd floor ( on the Edge) and also available by phone. They do not wait in the hallways or open doors. There are also not a lot of them on each ship. They are very helpful though.
